SPURS TEAM NEWS:
Andre Villas-Boas reports no fresh injuries ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash at QPR.
William Gallas remains out with the calf strain he sustained at Villa on Boxing Day but apart from that, long-term absentee Younes Kaboul is the only player on the treatment table.
"William will be out of the game, unfortunately," said Andre after training on Thursday. "The rest of the team is fine."
A reminder that we kick-off at 12.45pm at Loftus Road.

Lawro's Prediction for QPR v Tottenham (12:45 GMT)This game is all about 'Arry [QPR manager Harry Redknapp], who was sacked by Tottenham last summer. It's a game he will think he has a decent chance of winning too. Redknapp's record since taking charge of Rangers at the end of November is really good. He has turned things around there, although they still have lot to do to make up the gulf in points between them and safety. In Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan, Redknapp has the same backroom staff with him at QPR that he had at Spurs. They all have a point to prove. It is another London derby following QPR's win over their neighbours Chelsea in their last Premier League game, and Loftus Road is a tight pitch too, which might negate the impact of Spurs widemen Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon and work in QPR's favour. That win over Chelsea was massive for QPR - not just for the fact that they got three points, but where and how. Some of their players might have been wondering how they were going to get out of trouble before that win, but that result at Stamford Bridge will have shown them they can win anywhere. It is quite interesting that Spurs boss Andre Villa-Boas was talking about when he was sacked by Chelsea again this week - he needs to find some closure on that. Everyone knows that Chelsea sack their managers, and nobody thinks any worse of him because of it. Tottenham are on a good run that has taken them to third in the table, but Saturday comes down to Redknapp versus Villas-Boas. I think that battle will end even-stevens. Lawro's prediction: QPR 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur Lawro's 2012-13 Predictions & Table

Gallas has generally done well for us during his time at the Lane, but we have better options these days and he's not getting any younger.
He still has enough in the tank for the Premier League, just not for a club pushing for a Champions League place.

Not saying I'm crying out for him but he's probably better than Hill and Nelsen.

I don't think anyone has ever criticised Gallas for a lack of effort or commitment during his time with Spurs. If he does go to Rangers on loan, I'm sure he will perform to the best of his ability for you.

AVB not 'appy with 'arry though... Where's yours, Harry? AVB takes manager of the month award ahead of duel with rival By Chris Cutmore PUBLISHED: 12:31, 11 January 2013 | UPDATED: 12:46, 11 January 2013 ..Andre Villas-Boas has been handed a timely boost ahead of his clash with Harry Redknapp after being named the Barclays Premier League's Manager of the Month for December. Villas-Boas has not taken too kindly to Redknapp's suggestion that any manager who could not succeed at Chelsea is 'a real dope' - the wounds from his sacking at Stamford Bridge are still raw. But the Portuguese is doing just fine in Redknapp's old job at Spurs. Villas-Boas masterminded four wins for Tottenham during the month, plus one draw and one defeat, and took seven points from a possible nine over the tricky Christmas period. After receiving the award, Villas-Boas said: 'Itâs been an excellent December for us and we've managed to put ourselves in the kind of position that we want to be. We sit third in the league, but it is where we finish at the end of the season that matters.' Redknapp's jibe has set up a potentially feisty encounter on Saturday afternoon at Loftus Road, when Villas-Boas will take his Spurs side to face their former manager's relegation-battlers. It will be the first time Redknapp has come up against his former charges since his own, somewhat harsh, sacking from chairman Daniel Levy last summer after guiding Spurs to a fourth-place finish last season and only missing out on Champions League football due to Chelsea's triumph in the competition. Villas-Boas, however, is currently riding one place higher than that and Redknapp moved to downplay his 'dope' remarks on Friday, instead praising the work his replacement is doing at White Hart Lane. Hot Spurs: AVB's men enjoyed wins over Fulham, Swansea, Villa and Sunderland in December 'Heâs doing a fantastic job there and long may that continue for him,' he said. 'He got a job but it wasnât my job. When he got the job I was out of work. Iâve got no problem with him. He seems like a nice guy. 'I donât spend my nights worrying about what heâs doing. I will shake his hand and invite him for a drink whatever the result. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2260744/Andre-Villas-Boas-wins-manager-month-award.html

AVB ON QPR
Andre Villas-Boas is determined to capitalise on our rivals potentially dropping points this weekend by taking a maximum haul at QPR on Saturday.
We travel to Loftus Road on the back of a run of seven wins and a draw in our last nine matches to sit third in the Premier League.
This weekend sees City, currently six points ahead in second, travel to sixth-placed Arsenal, fourth-placed Chelsea face a tough encounter at Stoke and Everton, in fifth, face in-form Swansea.
âWe are on a good run and we want to profit in some way from the weekendâs results,â said Andre. âWe have to continue doing our jobs and that is to go to QPR, play well and bring back the result.
âWe had a great December, but that counts for nothing in the future. We donât want that form to stop, we want it to continue.
âThe players have been outstanding. They will be up for the game, theyâve been training well and we hope to get the result we all want.â
Andre feels QPRâs fine win at Chelsea last time out in the Premier League - plus their late equaliser against West Brom in the FA Cup - will have given them a âboost of confidenceâ.
âIt will be a tough game,â he added. âThey have just surprised everyone with the result they achieved at Chelsea, theyâve come back to draw the FA Cup tie against West Brom in the last minute, so this all adds up to confidence for them.
âWe have to be aware of that and aware that individually they have a lot of strength.
âIt wonât be easy, a 12.45pm match against a manager who knows us well. It all adds up to a special game in a special environment. Theyâve shown that collectively they can put an effort together. They will give everything and we have to be aware of their strengths.
âWe have our strengths as well and we look forward to applying them.â

Don't know why but I'm not looking forward to this game. I think it will be a great game and I'm far from confident about a Spurs win. Whatever the result, I wish QPR all the very best for the rest of the season and very much hope we'll meet again in the Premier League in 2013-14.

Crunch game...If we're going to stay up, got to win the very difficult games - even with our injuries/lack of strikers/defenders, etc.

A very fair result.
Spurs simply didn't create enough chances and Rangers more than coped with the ones we did.
Although an improvement on last season's defeat, it's hard not to look at this as two points dropped.

Solid team performance from the lads.
These are the kind of performances we need against the big boys at home. Definitely much tighter at the back now, thanks to Harry.

The Boxing Day 1962/63 question - wasn't that the Big Freeze and all games that day were cancelled due to the conditions?
Saw the game down here - not a classic and a battling peformance by the team. Spurs definitely had the possessiona nd the better chances but I thought we played well enough and tight enough to earn the point. Cesar was my MOTM with those saves that he amde at the sart of both halfs.
I would have preferred a win but more than happy with the point today. Certainly an improvement from the QPR team that was coached by the Clueless One.
