Midfielder Kieron Dyer joins QPR on a one-year dealDyer's career has been blighted by injuries
QPR have completed the signing of midfielder Kieron Dyer on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old, who was released by West Ham United at the end of the season, joins the newly-promoted Premier League club on a one-year deal.
"I'm just delighted to be here," he told the club website.
"QPR are an ambitious club. When I sat down with Neil and he explained the vision for the club I wanted to be part of it. He totally sold the club to me."
He added: "I've got something to prove after the couple of years I've had, but I feel good and I'm really looking forward to playing my part next season."
Dyer joined the Hammers from Newcastle United in August 2007 for £6m but only made 34 appearances for the club because of injuries.
He also spent a month on loan at former club Ipswich Town this season.
Dyer began his professional career in 1996 with the Suffolk outfit before moving to Newcastle three years later for £6m, which was then a record fee paid for a Town player.

Dyer has made 33 appearances for England
Injuries also figured during his time at St James' Park, when he suffered a hamstring problem which kept him sidelined for the first part of the 2005-2006 season.
Dyer's time at Newcastle will also be remembered for his on-pitch brawl with team-mate Lee Bowyer during the league match against Aston Villa in 2005. Both players received red cards and Dyer was handed a three-match ban.
"When a player of Kieron's ability becomes available, you'd be crazy not to be interested," said QPR boss Neil Warnock.
"As far as I'm concerned it's a gamble worth taking. He really impressed me in training and it looks like he has been working hard on his fitness throughout the summer.
"I instantly liked him when we met. You get feelings like that as a manager.
“
I like the hunger he's got and he wants to prove a point
”
QPR manager Neil Warnock
"He's had a lot of problems, but he's got something to prove. He's a hell of a good player and I still think he's got an opportunity to impress with us.
"He has a lot of experience and is desperate to play in the Premier League again. I like the hunger he's got and he wants to prove a point."
Meanwhile, Adel Taarabt, who has been linked with a £13.5m move to Paris St. Germain, is expected to report back for pre-season training with QPR on Monday barring further transfer developments.
Taarabt has been allowed to delay his return after spending part of his close season on international duty with Morocco.
QPR are also one of the clubs being linked with England defender Matthew Upson, who is a free agent after leaving West Ham following their relegation from the top flight.

Kieron Dyer suffers injury setback on QPR debutKieron Dyer was forced off the pitch after only seven minutes of the season for QPR against Bolton but x-rays later showed he did not suffer a broken foot.
The 32-year-old midfielder was making his first Premier League start for Neil Warnock's side after signing on a one-year deal this summer from West Ham.
He fell awkwardly after going into a tackle and was substituted as QPR lost 4-0 on their top-flight return.
But Warnock later allayed fears that Dyer had suffered serious injury.
"We thought he had broken his metatarsal, but the x-rays showed no break, although he got a nasty stud on the top of his foot," he said.

We capitulated - Warnock
"Hopefully it is not too bad and he might be back in a few days. We'll just have to wait and see."
Dyer has been plagued by injuries throughout his career, managing only 35 appearances during his four seasons with the Hammers after sustaining a broken leg and also suffering with a hamstring problem.
Injuries also affected his time at Newcastle, when hamstring trouble kept him sidelined for the first part of the 2005-06 season.
Meanwhile, QPR manager Warnock added that he hoped proposed new investment at the club could lead to new signings before the close of the summer transfer window.
Malaysian entrepreneur Tony Fernandes has been holding talks with QPR's key shareholder, Bernie Ecclestone, and his business partner Flavio Briatore about acquiring a majority stake in the club.
Speaking after his side's 4-0 home defeat, Warnock said: "We've talked with the new people and if it goes through they know what I'm looking for. We've got two weeks to get in the players we want."

Kieron Dyer signs new one-year contract with QPR
Kieron Dyer has signed a new one-year contract with Premier League side QPR.
The 33-year-old midfielder only played once last season after suffering a foot injury on his debut in August.
The former England international, who won the last of his 33 caps in 2007, joined Rangers on a free transfer from West Ham last summer.
Meanwhile manager Mark Hughes has offered new contracts to goalkeeper Radek Cerny, defender Clint Hill and midfielder Akos Buzsaky.
Hughes has also decided to release eight out-of-contract players at the end of their deals.
Patrick Agyemang, Gary Borrowdale, Lee Cook, Danny Gabbidon, Fitz Hall, Peter Ramage, Danny shitetu and Rowan Vine will all be leaving Loftus Road next month.

Kieron Dyer: QPR boss Harry Redknapp releases midfielder
QPR have released Kieron Dyer after activating a clause in the midfielder's contract.
Dyer, 34, joined the club on a free transfer in July 2011 but played just once last season because of injuries.
He signed a one-year contract extension last summer and has made seven outings in the current campaign.
Dyer's final bow
Kieron Dyer's goal against West Brom in a third-round FA Cup draw on 4 January was his first competitive goal since he scored in the Premier League against Newcastle in a 1-1 draw at Watford on 13 May 2007.
"If he can stay clear of injuries I'm sure there are clubs that will offer him the chance to play football," QPR boss Harry Redknapp said.
"He wasn't in my plans and I think he's got something to offer someone, so we wish him all the best."
Dyer scored a last-gasp equaliser for QPR against West Brom in a FA Cup third-round tie on 4 January to take the tie to a replay.
The game has proven his final appearance for the club as he now looks for another club in a career hugely hampered by injuries.
The former England international started out at Ipswich in 1996 before a £6m switch to Newcastle in 1999.
He moved to West Ham for the same amount in August 2007 and, after a spell on loan at Ipswich between March and April 2011 during his time at Upton Park, he moved to QPR later that year.
Dyer has made 406 career appearances and scored 49 goals since making his debut for Ipswich. However, he has struggled for fitness in recent seasons and has played just 42 times since his exit from Newcastle in 2007.
