If Redknapp had been approached about the job he would not have been on MOTD. Don't be so sure mate. I am certain.

Macmoish, the Gallens would be a good start. Just bring the heart and soul back and this is a Prem lge team easily.

Thanks, pommyhoop. Warnock recently said that the soul had gone from this great club of ours. Considering what he knows about us behind the scenes he looks right about that. Somehow we need to get that back. If HR comes I'd strongly urge him and TF to bring Sir Les back with him. Get someone who knows what playing for QPR is all about. I think HR does understand that dynamic and I think he has more in common wirh the average QPR fan than Hughes ever could have, so he has that in his favour. But that soul, which has been torn out of us needs to be returned. Imo this is the major reason why Norwich and Swansea are succeeding in this league whilst we continue to stumble and fall every weekend. I don't want Redknapp as our manager, as I've said numerous times but I do agree with you about him understanding us more and what it means. As I have also said, I like Redknapp, unlike Hughes or Colin, funny innit! Spurs mate last night was saying if you thought Hughes had a bloated coaching staff wait until Redkanpp comes in. I really don't know what would be best so I'll climb back on the fence!!! Although and somewhat curiously ad if Fernandes has the bottle, I'd keep Hughes and let him either utterly destroy any reputation he thinks he still has so he never works in football again, or he actually does what he's employed to do. Could be expensive, one for the bean counters.

Like I said in another thread CPR part of me does want Tony to make Hughes stay for the reasons you cite. But its too risky I recon. And even if he did take us down ,he may not be ruined in football.I mean look at the Swedish fella in my sig.He keeps turning up at clubs like a bad penny..

Even if Hughes stays the philosophy still has to change if we are going to be successful.
TF said yesterday in one of his tweets that everyone at the club needs to ask serious questions now, or something to that effect.
He is right.
It starts at the very top and they need to look very seriously at the strategy they have in place and what is happening to this club as a result. It would be pointless, imo, to just change manager and continue in exactly the same course that we have been taking since the moment we came back into the Premier League.
I have said before that we appear to be dysfunctional on many levels, primarily due to the previous regime, but dysfunctional teams will struggle to stay in the Premier League regardless of who the manager is.

From the comments over the past year, "everyone" in football thinks we're crazy with our high wages/spending etc

We should have kept Warnock... maybe gone down but at least had stability (hate that word) and a decent Championship manager to take us back up again. He deserved our loyalty. I think we need to drop the lazy c**ts like Cisse, Bosi and Traore and bring in Derry, Mackie and Faurlin for some fire. We do not need Anelka either btw. We need Puncheons. At the moment I can't decide where I stand with Harry vs Hughes...

Warnock had Puncheon and did not use him. He is equally culpable for bringing in dross like Young, Ferdinand and SWP.
Imo, we were right to get rid, but then repeated same transfer mistakes on an even grander scale with Hughes.

Not a total fan of 'Arry but given the choice between him and Hughes I would go for the former any day - mind you that said, I would go for Bozo the Clown and the Plumber Down the Street as alternative choices right this minute as well. That's how desperate the situation is.
There is a story that I have heard from another fan that Mark Bowen has admitted that MH's is never really coached a team on how to defend. Whether that is true or not I don't know - I can't believe it is but it sure as hell explains why our whole defence is running around like headless chickens at the back. Ryan Nelson & Cesar must be getting vertigo from the antics of their fellow defenders.
Read the latest article on soccernet.com - it has a damning assessment of the so called defence in the Southampton game.
In the end it boils down to one person and one person only, the coach.

He said it on Open All Rs, sarcastically but to me the visual evidence says a lot more than sarcasm. Might explain why nobody can work out if we are man to man or zonal, all we do know is it's shoddy and pathetic! Basics, mark your man, never give a footballer an excuse to avoid responsibility.

Warnock bought dross because by the time he was given any money with a few days to go there was only dross left on the shelf of players for sale. All the good ones had gone. Hughes on the other hand has had the last half of last season, all the transfer window, more money and of course the help of that guiding light Joorabchian.

Poor defenders for sure, Nelsen excluded. Problem is that neither Traore or Bosingwa can defend. Both v good going forwards but huge liabilities when asked to defend. Same with Fabio.
This was known by everyone involved in football except, it seems, our board and manager.
Defence nearly relegated us last season so we bring in more guys who can't defend. Genius!
M'Bia may turn out to be good and at least taking Ferdinand out of the equation is kind of addition by subtraction. But the LB and RB areas are meat and drink to opposing teams as was demonstrated brutally yesterday.

Thanks for that confirmation cpr - I have never understood zonal marking. After all zones don't score, players do - so why not mark the players around you - and not some piece of land that may or may not have players in it?
