We, as in QPR, never paid the money back to ABC. Amulya paid the debt off and have owned the ground since then. Like I said before, we've never had any control over our future whatsoever since David Davies signed off on that incredible loan. As long as the repayments schedule was adhered to the club retained the ownership of the ground, as the ground was collateral against the loan. We adhered to the repayment schedule as retained control of the ground. When Amulya took over the loan, Bhatia stated that we retained ownership of the ground. Whilst the loan was a huge albatross around the club's neck, we did not default on the loan and therefore retained ownership of it as we do now, Bhatia informing us that the loan is a 'soft' one. It's from Beard's description of us as 'anchor tenants' that we can see that in the future our owners intend to separate us from the ground for good. Whilst Davies and co. certainly opened the door for this to happen, the loan has never been in default and the penalty of losing control over the ground was therefore never realised. It's all semantics of course and I bet our owners could put a different spin on it, but technically we still have control over the ground, despite the actions of Davies and co, who quite rightly are to blame for creating this mess in the first place.

Perhaps the training ground side hadn't been agreed then, who knows. Did they do those original plans that were posted?

Mark. Does the fact that we are going to be anchor tenants of the new stadium, mean that our owners wont have to pay for the new stadium...ie just rent it and lease out to other concerns.

Mark. Does the fact that we are going to be anchor tenants of the new stadium, mean that our owners wont have to pay for the new stadium...ie just rent it and lease out to other concerns. No. If Fernandes and Bhatia are going to build a new stadium then they will have to meet the costs of it. It's QPR FC that might have to pay them rent to play there after they move us out of our ground and pocket all the proceeds from the sale of it. Fernandes bought not just an entity in the form of a football club but also into a business plan of which Ecclestone, Briatore and Bhatia had laid the ground work for and which will come to fruition in time. The stadium will be owned by the same people who own us but as a separate business using it as a multi purpose venue and we're the main attraction as it were, the 'anchor tenants'. It's entirely possible that we won't have to pay rent as Fernandes and Bhatia could directly receive the TV monies and the ticket revenues that the club earn and stadium generate as they own both or we could pay rent out of the TV and commercial revenues and received ticket sales, but that is down to what is the most profitable way for them to structure the two businesses. More than likely they will be separate from each other. Tune Music has recently just started who will probably handle the live music side with Beard overseeing it all.
