It's still hoops so it's still QPR.
I think I'm the only person that really likes the new kit!!

I don't get it - if the blue and white lines go all the way around the shirt, from front to back, they are hoops and not stripes.
Can understand people not liking it but I can't understand why it isn't "QPR".

Thick or thin hoops not bothered shirt looks ok, plus thin hoops connects with our history, our hoops were thin when we adopted hooped shirts for the first time.
Would like the shirt makers to be Adidas though.

It looks like something a Jockey might wear.
Mmmmmm
Not the best home kit but let us hope they might get it right in the future.
Fat hoops please.

And just to clarify when using the football vernacular: Stripes are vertical. Hoops are horizontal. Anyone who says they're 'stripes' is talking bollocks. Macmoish, move out of 1968!!

Stripes can be vertical or horizontal. Reading have horizontal stripes, we have hoops.

If Reading have stripes and we have hoops, how many of those thin things must we have before we agree they're stripes?!

Hoops go all the way round, giving the effect of a 'hula hoop' around the shirt. Stripes don't go the whole way round, like Reading and the USA National team kit.

Macmoish, move out of 1968!! Thinner hoops................it's the future! No, it's not, it's ugly french onion seller bollocks. At least the sponsors logo doesn't look like a cheap iron patch like last season though. Anyone think that they've done this to make the shirt a more attractive prospect to non supporters in order to entice them into buying it? Thinner hoops/stripes designs tend sell more than thick ones. All part of the Briatore/Bhattia rebrand. It'll all be over soon once the various contracts signed at the time expire.

If Reading have stripes and we have hoops, how many of those thin things must we have before we agree they're stripes?! Mac, your comments are usually more intelligent and worthy than this. If, through the use of discourse and conversation we can't agree that hoops and stripes are different, and not through the matter of their thickness, then this board has probably reached a new low.

this board has probably reached a new low. A new low? What/when was our last low? What have been some of the highs for you? On what scale is this measured?

I guess my skooling was defficient Anyway if this actually is the lowest point for this messageboard - shall we say, its "Plimsoll Line" - and I guess one could debate that; well that's still not too bad. Better than the racist, anti-Semitic, Holocaust "Revisionist" and glorifiying-in-violence posts I've seen elsewhere. Anyway any be-it-lows are more than matched by highs, highs, highs. (Still hate those narrow hoops! )

Just to give you an idea of some other Lotto kits. Seems to be the same collar on all the kits, and the same strip across the front

Just to give you an idea of some other Lotto kits. Seems to be the same collar on all the kits, and the same strip across the front OK, so it looks like the template was dumped on us, and we agreed to it. Cheap bastards. It looks too loose and puffy, very 90s. It's usually hard to pull the polo collar off; where Umbro succeeds, Adidas fails (see Denmark's flapping dog's ears collar)...

Settle down sweetheart. I was joking.I was exagerating how thin our hoops are by showing this fabulous thin hooped sweater sported by famous gay designer Jean Paul Gaultier. Didnt mean to offend..

I'm prepared to wait until they clear off to get the proper hoops back. Interested to know why they don't scrap blue and white altogether and pick something more 'marketable'? Or does this design just happen to be what the world wants. Not success, but yet another coloured shirt. Not a shirt with a real identity, but just any old arrangement of colours. But, no. Hang on. It could hardly be that this garbage is better than any other multicoloured artwork by 9 monkeys, but is the argument the reverse one? That this preserves the QPR tradition? Is that why it resembles - very vaguely - our broader hoops? Is the vagueness important? Is it important to keep the tradition, but not properly. Or change it, on the grounds that we played in green and white hoops once, so who cares? Of course, I don't care about Fernandes & Co, not in the least, so 'their' shirt isn't of any interest at all. It's them, and it's rubbish, but, hey, if the cap fits .... ;D At least the blue and white hoops many of us like - and it IS a matter of preference - will still exist if the Club becomes more interested in its identity. Maybe they are interested, and just make more money by changing it every year. To me, it devalues QPR, and that is what investors are about, first and foremost. Run up losses, grab the ground, try to squeeze the Club out of it, change the badge, change the shirts. Chiefly because they can't change the quality of the football, I know, but also because a devalued QPR is a QPR which serves THEIR purposes, not its own. So stuff them and their shirt, even though I respect other supporters preferences! And why would we care about the crap? They'll change it next year, so THEY don't even care. Funny how all this moneymaking never seems to eat into the enormous losses they make? The logic is curious, bizarre really. Dump one design, dump another, change the badge, so why not the name of the Club? Is that so sexy? Are shirt buyers on the Andaman Islands gagging to get a shirt of the Club which has their favourite wording on it - Queens Park Rangers? But maybe that would push us too far? Can't quite see how, though. Many supporters wouldn't like it, and wouldn't accept it, but would everyone? And if they wouldn't, why only the shirts, and not the name? Very interesting discussion, and one of those perennial ones, like the Ground. Because it's fundamental, maybe.
