R's attacker Angelo Balanta has penned a new two-year contract at Loftus Road.
A product of our youth system, the 21 year-old has signed a deal that will keep him at QPR until the summer of 2014.
During his relatively short career thus far, Balanta has made 29 senior appearances for the R's, scoring three goals since making his debut back in December 2007.
Loan spells at Wycombe Wanderers and Milton Keynes Dons (twice) have since given the forward regular First Team football, with Balanta clocking up a further 60 league and cup appearances during his time away from W12 - as well as 15 goals.
Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, the Columbian-born ace told us: "I've grown up at the Club and come through the youth system, so I'm really pleased to have been given a new contract.
"I've got another two years and I'm looking to push on now. I'm going to come into pre-season, work my socks off and see where that will take me.
"I've been out on loan a number of times but I'm looking to establish myself here now.
"When I went out on loan, I was very young and I was trying to get experience. I'm still only 21 and still learning about the game, but I think I need to kick my career on now.
"I know that there'll be a fight to play regular football here next season. There are obviously a number of senior and high profile players at the Club, but I'd love to establish myself and kick my career on at QPR."
Balanta added: "The gaffer has a pedigree as a world-class striker and hopefully I can continue to learn from him.
"He does a few tricks in training! Hopefully I can learn from that, take it into training and show him what I can do.
"I believe in my own ability and that I can break into the First Team, but I've just got to work hard and, hopefully, I'll get a chance."
