Also worth bearing in mind that Dyers contract was a pay as you play. Who's is to say that he has signed a similar contract.

You must be Hooping mad! QPR renew Dyer deal despite only playing SEVEN minutes By SPORTSMAIL REPORTER
PUBLISHED: 13:31 GMT, 21 May 2012 | UPDATED: 13:35 GMT, 21 May 2012
Comments (2) Share Sidelined: Dyer was injured for the vast majority of his maiden season at Loftus Road
Kieron Dyer has signed a new one-year-deal at QPR, until the summer of 2013, despite playing just seven minutes for the club.
The former England international was taken off injured on a stretcher after starting in a 4-0 home defeat against Bolton on the opening day of last season and hasn't featured since.
The 33-year-old joined the Hoops from West Ham on a free transfer last summer but has had a long history of injury problems that have hampered his career.
The club have also confirmed they have entered talks with Clint Hill, Akos Buzsaky and Radek Cerny about extending their deals that expire at the end of June.
However, Peter Ramage, Danny Gabbidon, Danny Shittu, Fitz Hall, Gary Borrowdale, Lee Cook, Rowan Vine and Patrick Agyemang will all leave Mark Hughes' side when their contracts expire at the end of next month.

In Fairness to Vine, but for Matt Pickens being a complete plank and breaking his leg, Vine was in form and scoring. Sadly, it never happened there after and even when getting picked often, still the goals wouldn't come.
Kinda feel sorry for him in this respect. Not impressed with him in regard to comments allegedly said by him about things at the club.

Maybe the plan is to have Dyer on the treatment table all season and to let Luke Young go

Surprised by Dyer and also by Cerny if I am honest. Wasn't Dyer on 10k fixed plus 20k for every game he played last season? I seem to remember having read it somewhere at the time, but maybe wrong.

Also worth bearing in mind that Dyers contract was a pay as you play. Who's is to say that he has signed a similar contract. Considering it's an extension to his existing contract, I'd wager it's almost identical with the termination date being the only thing changed. Are we sure that it's a pay as you play contract? Does it allow for medical fees and living expenses/allowance? Was it lost in someone's drawer for ages? Was it signed by mistake? What the fu(k is going on? Football may be a funny old game, but that is just taking the piss.

The more I think about it, the less sense this whole Dyer thing makes. I thought we could have got rid of him in January but out of respect for the player we kept him on so he could come back from his injury. Maybe us staying up did trigger an automatic clause that we had to offer an extension? Can't make sense of it otherwise

Way too early to know whether he got it wrong, he could stay injury free and have a great season. Cheers Rory, needed a laugh! ;D

Can't believe this either or for Akos, but I'm pleased for Cerny.
At least the best keeper at the club will still be here.
Goodbye & thanks to all who are going but a special mention for Peter Ramage. Mainly played out of position at right back but his attitude, both on & off the pitch, was superb.

Not surprised by Dyer, remember reading somewhere maybe 2 motnhs ago when Hughes spoke highly of him. Would be nice if Dyer could have one more season when he can play a part and show himself and us doubters that he still has it...

Dyer is a head scratcher of a decision.
Personally, I think he's a waste of space in a 25 man squad as there is no way the guy will stay fit.
First decision of Hughes' reign that I flat out disagree with. However, have ti trust he knows what he's doing.
My only thought on this is that they definitely are getting rid of Barton and are keeping him in the forlorn hope he can fill his replacement's place on the bench.
But, yea verily, I'm genuinely stumped about this decision.

Strange move but must be some sort of pay as you play as for Rambo the mans got real class not the most gifted but a real 100% man. I can only agree with what was said about him getting a club sooner rather than later and wish him all the very best
