First Butland, now Buttner... It's funny how humans start urging for what they've actually never seen or heard before...

West Ham want Porto defender but face fight with Stoke and QPR
By Warren Haughton | Tuesday, July 3, 2012 West Ham face stiff competition from Stoke and QPR for Porto defender Abdoulaye Ba.
The young Senegalese stopper was on the Hammers' radar in January but boss Sam Allardyce didn’t follow up on his initial interest.
Now Allardyce is back in the hunt but the Upton Park chief will have to battle Premier League rivals for his signature.
QPR and Stoke are looking to add defensive options to their squads and are also keen on Ba, who impressed on loan at Academica last season and is available for a cut-price £3million.
Sources close to Ba have told talkSPORT that the 21-year-old is keen to move to the Premier League, and is confident of being granted a work permit, having played the last four games for his country.

I think this mean Taiwo visited Olympic Marseille but may not be signing for them? Jo-onenil/Froggy? OM: Taye Taiwo back to the center RLD © IconSport Written by Paul Rourgue Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 6:50 p.m.News Jeremy Morel lived a very difficult season. The OM will need to address the issue of recruitment of a left back. An unannounced visit should fuel many fantasies. According to The Phocéen.fr, Taye Taiwo was at the center this morning to visit the RLD players but also to the leaders. Even if the club has confirmed his visit he said it was a courtesy, nothing more. This should be enough for excited the imagination of a return of Nigeria to the OM. Milan could possibly pay back Taiwo but the player would return to the Premier League. www.footballclubdemarseille.fr/breves/om-taye-taiwo-de-retour-au-centre-rld.html

Sunderland to take Ireland chance 09:00 PM 03 July, 2012 Sunderland are willing to take a chance on Stephen Ireland. The midfielder was regarded as one of the best talents in the country whilst at Manchester City, but he has struggled to find his best form in recent times. Ireland, who had a loan spell at Newcastle United in 2010-11, did impress term at Aston Villa, where supporters voted him Player of the Year. However, the future of the 25-year-old remains uncertain, particularly following reports that Martin O’Neill is keen to take him to the Stadium of Light. The Black Cats boss made good progress upon replacing Steve Bruce last season, and he would look to take the Villa star for £5million. www.fansfc.com/story/41523.html

But according to them, Taiwo wants to go back to England.

I do reckon we should be looking at Charlie Adam if Liverpool are selling.

I do like being linked to nobodies as when you miss out it doesn’t matter because there is a potential they could have flopped but at the same time if you do sign them it’s rather exciting because the club could have discovered the next big star.

The twitterati are now saying that Danny Simpson is being lined up to join Guthrie at Reading.
My thinking is that we have two groups of players – those which the big boys are aware of and will up the price just through connection e.g. Oscar and therefore unlikely we will either pay the price or have any chance of signing them. Then there are those that the likes of Reading, Saints, WHU, WBA, Stoke etc will all be linked to as well and we have to sell the ‘project’ to them.

Rob wants to stay ;D QPR striker rules out exit By Jacob Murtagh ROB Hulse wants to stay at Loftus Road and fight for his place in the QPR first-team. The 32-year-old made just three appearances for Rangers last season and is entering the final 12 months of his contract in west London. Hulse's chances of regular football took a further blow following the signing of Andy Johnson to leave him way down the pecking order. However, the player's agent, Matt Buck, insists the former Derby frontman wants to remain in W12. He told the Chronicle: “I've spoken to Rob over the summer and we've not had any talks with the manager or anyone else at the club about moving on. “Obviously he wants to be playing more, but there's been no discussions about leaving. “Rob's worked hard over the summer and is now back to full fitness, so will be returning for the start of pre-season training next week.” Hulse has managed just two goals in 25 games for the R's since his move to the club in 2010.
