Sky Sports Score Centre confirms that score and that he didn't play tonight. Was just wondering if he played in the first game. So, who's supporting Gabon on Friday? ;D Can't wait to see what Sparky gets out of Adel.

Some decent players in the Senegal team with Ba upfront and lost two out of two , oh well. The African Cup of Nations frequently provides shocks – but perhaps today is one of the biggest in its history. Senegal, favourites in a tournament without Egypt, Nigeria and Cameroon, lost to co-hosts Equatorial Guinea thanks to an injury-time winner from Kily Alvarez, after Sow thought he’d slavaged a point. The EquatoGuineans march on, while Senegal will depart after the group stages.Date: 25th January 2012 Venue: Estadio de Bata Attendance: 26,865 Score: 2-1 Scorers: Randy (62), Alvarez (90+4); Sow (89). Yellow Cards: Danilo, Alvarez, Randy, Ekedo. Red Cards: Doe. Line-ups Equatorial Guinea Danilo, Alvarez, Da Gracia, Doe, Kamissoko, Juvenal, Bolado, Konate, Fidjeu-Tazemeta, Balboa, Randy. Subs: Ekanga, Ekedo. Senegal Coundoul, Sané, Mangane, Diawara, M’Bengue, N’Daw, Dia, N’Doye Diamé, Cissé, Ba. Subs: N’Diaye, Sow, Niang. Full Match Report The match started slowly, as Senegal realised nothing but a win would be good enough to keep their hopes of qualification from Group A alive. N’Daw had the first effort, before Papa Demba Cissé hit a fantastic shot that Brazilian-born Danilo had to react smartly to save. Demba Ba could have made up for that error, but he side-footed wide from close-range, while Danilo was called into action again to deny N’Daw as Equatorial Guinea looked like no match for their more illustrious opponents going into half-time. N’Doye missed a free header early on in the second-half, before Balboa had the co-hosts’ first real effort on goal in the match – his direct running causing a problem for the Senegalese defence. But a goal did come soon after. Kily Alvarez whipped a ball into the box before Randy got his head to the ball and powered it past Coundoul to give Eq. Guinea a shock lead. Senegal began to panic, with Cissé, Niang and N’Diaye all missing golden chances, before Sow managed to scramble in an equaliser after the substitute Niang’s shot had been blocked in the 89th minute. EquatoGuinean heads down? Not a chance. After N’Diaye clipped the post for Senegal, Juvenal played Balboa in who just managed to drag his shot wide. Drama over? Guess again. With time running out and Senegal going gung-ho for a winner, Kily Alvarez found the ball at his feet at the edge of the box – no fear for him, smashing a screamer into the back of the net to send the away side home early. Man of the Match: Kily Alvarez – Played phenomenally today – his all-round play was great, while he grabbed a great late winner to ensure his side qualified from Group A in their first ever CAN tournament. www.sportpulse.net/content/acn-match-report-group-equatorial-guinea-2-1-senegal-2678

Traoré didn't make the subs bench again. Another good result our way. As a similar comment I read earlier somewhere getting T&T back will seem like two new signings in itself. C'mon Gabon!!!

Congratulations BBC - Africa Cup of Nations: Sudan win first point since 1976 Sudan earned their first Africa Cup of Nations point in 36 years when drawing 2-2 with Angola in Malabo. The southern Africans took control after four minutes as Manucho pounced on a defensive error to drill home. That left Sudan needing their first finals goal since 1976 and it duly arrived when Mohamed Ahmed Bashir headed home after the half-hour. After Manucho converted a spot-kick for his second, Bashir struck late on to earn a deserved draw for the Sudanese. Continue reading the main story I'm trying to minimize the small mistakes of our inexperienced defenders playing against high-quality strikers. I think we are improving. To survive in this competition you have to win, so we played more offensive. Mohamed 'Mazda' Abdallah Sudan coach After winning the Nations Cup on home soil in 1970, Sudan's national team has gone downhill and suffered a 32-year absence from the finals until returning at Ghana 2008, only to lose all their games without scoring. So after Manucho pounced on Nagm Eldin's hesitation after four minutes, striding on unchallenged before cracking home an angled drive, there were legitimate fears for Sudan's fortunes. Especially since the first job for Akram Elhadi, brought in for regular goalkeeper Mahjoub El Moez, was to pick the ball out of the net. But in a largely-deserted Nuevo Estadio de Malabo, where the sound of the Angola trumpets filled the void, Sudan - the second lowest-ranked tournament at the finals - gradually came into the game. Mohamed Tahir was the first to test Carlos in the Angolan goal as he fired in a terrific 25-yarder before Mohamed Ahmed Bashir made history in the 33rd minute. Mudather El Taib swung over a cross from the right wing which Bashir flicked into the top corner before charging to the corner flag where he kissed the ground in celebration. The goal was no less than Sudan's play merited, after Angola had slackened off, but the East Africans gifted the Palancas Negras another lead in the opening minutes of the second period. Continue reading the main story We made a mistake and Sudan took advantage to score. It's a very fair result. We depend on ourselves, and there's still a long way to go in this tournament. Andre Macanga Angola captain Defender Hamid Nazar was the guilty party as his lazy challenge felled FC Porto's Djalma, and Manucho slotted the penalty home to become the tournament's top scorer with three goals. That left Sudan needing another strike to stay in the finals and they slowly worked their way back into a game where forward Nando Rafael made his long-awaited debut for the Palancas Negras. But the former Germany youth international suffered a mixed day as the second-half substitute was forced off with a shoulder injury, to be replaced by Jose Vunguidica. The Angolan made an immediate impact but not in the fashion coach Lito Vidigal would have wanted as he chested a hopeful punt into the path of Bashir, who swivelled to score his second of the game. Bashir could have scored a hat-trick but fired a late effort tamely at Carlos, who will miss Monday's final group game Ivory Coast after picking up his second yellow of the tournament for time-wasting. Late on, Angola could have snatched victory when Manucho fired a yard or two over the crossbar from the halfway line after cleverly spotting Akram off his line. The result leaves both teams in with a chance of making the quarter-finals on the final day, when the Sudanese will take on Burkina Faso. newsvote.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/16750510.stm

Taarabt furious over Morocco exit 29 January 2012 www.soccerway.com/news/2012/January/29/taarabt-furious-over-morocco-exiMorocco forward Adel Taarabt has expressed his anger at seeing his country suffer a group stage exit from the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. The Atlas Lions surprisingly bowed out of the competition on Friday after being defeated 3-2 by host nation Gabon, but the QPR star admits their elimination was justified following a couple of below-par performances in Group C. "I am very angry about our early elimination from the cup - we played terrible and we disappointed our fans," Taarabt told Itasport. As a result of Morocco's failings, Taarabt revealed he wants to bounce back as quickly as possible by resuming his Premier League sojourn with QPR, who have enjoyed a recent upturn in fortunes with the appointment of Mark Hughes. "I want to return to QPR and help the team as soon as I can. I'm happy to go back to London, but to leave without even a victory is really disappointing," the former Lens man said. Morocco play out their remaining group match against Niger on Tuesday

It's the same as the World Cup/Euros Harlow, if they don't start they're on the bench.
