Tim Cahill in a QPR shirt will certainly lift our profile in OZ. He advertises loads of products on Australian TV. Not reason to get him though.

All this chat about players makes me laugh, especially some of the names mentioned on this thread. Cahill and peinaar please, over the hill and over rated. Truth is no one lets any decent players go in Jan, unless they are struggling and need the cash or contracts up in the summer. Whats the big rush? our season doesn't start until the Wigan game. So who in our squad is better than Cahill and Peinaar?? Taarabt is technically but doesn't show it. SWP probably isn't. Faurlin is but that's about it. Pienaar would be allowed to leave because he is another one of those players that Harry signed only for them to rot on the bench for a season or two. Not a case of better than what we got. Cahill is over the hill and settled in the NW. Pienaar has never been the same player since his injury, cant even get on the spurs bench. I could name hundreds of players better than what we got, doesnt mean we will get them.

Just been to watch Australia dominate India at the cricket. What you ask has this to do with football? Well if David Warner could kick a ball the way he hits balls we would want him as a striker, with his speed in the field we would take him as an attacking midfielder, and the way he flies through the air to stop balls and take catches we would take him as a keeper. Has he been linked to us yet?!

Muntari loan? www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/229962/Sulley-Muntari-to-join-QPR-on-loan/QPR LINE UP SULLEY MUNTARI LOAN DEALQPR boss Mark Hughes is said to be a keen admirer of Sulley Muntari 13th January 2012 QPR are lining up a loan bid for former Portsmouth and Sunderland midfielder Sulley Muntari. The Ghana midfielder, whose contract with Inter Milan expires at the end of the season, is said to have agreed personal terms with rival club AC Milan. The news has infuriated Inter who have decided to send Muntari out on loan until the end of the season before losing him on a free in the summer. The midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at Inter Milan and has hardly featured this season. QPR manager Mark Hughes is said to be a keen admirer of Muntari and is desperate to add some depth to his squad before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month. Chelsea defender Alex has meanwhile snubbed QPR and told manager André Villas-Boas he does not want to join the relegation strugglers. The Blues have yet to accept a firm offer from Hughes’ side who are willing to pay £3m for the Brazilian. But sources close to the central defender say he has no intention of swapping Chelsea for QPR and would prefer to join up with his former manager Carlo Ancelotti at PSG or head back to his own country.

Apologies if posted earlier. Isnt the deadline 12 today for signings to play the weekend? You may well be right. In my opinion we are going to get well and truly stuffed on Sunday with nobody coming in to shore up our threadbare defence.

If Alex wanted to leave the country then his agent would have notified us and we wouldn't have made an improved bid. It's on like Donkey Kong

just seen that too. i dont really rate the guy personally but i will give MH the benifit of the doubt on this one.
as for all these targets flying about, i dont think there is to much wrong with our current squad barring one or two positions. i honestly believe that with hughes training methods and tactical ability, our squad should improve considerably under his and the coaching teams watch.
i wont be surprised if we get a point at castle, win comfortably against the dons and by then, our suad ill be settled and they ill know theres and each others role on the pitch to face wigan. what a difference management skills make.
the problem with our current strikers is not that they are shit (bothroyd 24 goals last season) dj ( 13 last season) but its that this season up until now they have been forced to play on there own up front. against two prem centre backs and a holding mid is not going to be easy to get goals which is why with hughes aggresive 4-4-2 formation im sure we will start to see these two boys getting on the score sheet.
tactics mean more than just signing any tom dick and harry and cant wait till sunday.
you r'sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

QPR to increase offer for Chelsea's Alex to £3.5m • Initial offer of £2m brushed aside by Chelsea • Josh McEachran to spend six-month loan at Swansea reddit this Dominic Fifield guardian.co.uk, Friday 13 January 2012 19.40 GMT Article history Chelsea's defender Alex submitted a transfer request in December and QPR are hoping to offer him a new home. Photograph: Chris Radburn/PA Queens Park Rangers are to submit an improved bid for the transfer-listed Chelsea defender Alex and hope to persuade the Brazil international to move to Loftus Road. An offer of around £2m was rejected on Thursday and QPR will return with a bid closer to £3.5m, which they hope will prove acceptable. Alex's instinct had been to seek a return to his homeland, though the centre-half lives close to Rangers' training ground in Harlington and shares his adviser, Kia Joorabchian, with the club's new manager, Mark Hughes. That has prompted confidence at Rangers that the 29-year-old can yet be lured to assist the team in a relegation battle. The Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran will move to Swansea City on Monday on a six-month loan deal and be reunited with the former youth team and reserve manager Brendan Rodgers at the Liberty Stadium. www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jan/13/qpr-alex-chelsea-josh-mceachran?CMP=twt_gu

The domino EXCLUSIVE: Cahill says yes to Chelsea at last Published 19:31 13/01/12 By Alan Nixon Recommend Gary Cahill is finally on his way to Chelsea in a £7million deal – after 17 days of agonising. The England centre-half agreed a £23million contract that runs until 2017 and headed south for a medical tonight. Bolton and Chelsea decided the fee before the transfer window even opened, but it took a trip north by Blues chief executive Ron Gourlay on Thursday and seven hours of talks with the player before he accepted their salary offer. He had wanted £100,000 a week, and at the start of the month Chelsea manager Andre Villa-Boas revealed they were a long way apart in their discussions. But after pulling out all the stops and the intervention of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, the offer was raised to £80,000 a week. Cahill was pulled out of Friday training by Bolton and had the first part of his medical tonight. It will be concluded in the morning, in time for him to be paraded at Chelsea’s game against Sunderland. It is a big move for Cahill, who had been fretting over the switch but was assured that he was always Chelsea’s first choice to join their shaky defence. The Yorkshireman, who will take his chances on not getting a regular game in the build-up to the Euro 2012 finals, is the first piece of a £250m spending spree by Villa-Boas over the next couple of transfer windows. The move is also a massive for cash-conscious Bolton who could have lost him for nothing in the summer when his contract expired. Manager Owen Coyle has immediately earmarked a bid for contract-rebel Blackburn forward Junior Hoilett. Bolton have already inquired for Hoilett – also a target for Tottenham – and, now they can offer cash, will table a bid in the next few days.
