Rubbish about Collins. Played with Gabbi at Wet Spam and made him look good, just like he is making Dunne look like a defender. Definately a good buy, just like Young. McCleish hasn't a clue and we should take all his 'cast offs' like what they are. Good premiership players!!! It's late so maybe I'm misreading but If collins is so bad he makes Gabidon look good, why are you saying we should buy him ?

JJ, sorry mate. I meant he held the defence together at Wet Spam even with Gabbi as the centre back cover. I rate him highly and so do most Villa fans, just like when they sold Young!!

Any news on whether AT is leaving? It has gone very silent on that front. Does that mean he is staying?

I hope we sign Collins because not only is he good IMO but importantly he's match fit. The likes of Alex and Onouha would be great signings but it would take them a few weeks to get up to Premiership fitness.
We need players who can hit the ground running.

I think and hope he is Sharky. Why? He's still our best asset imho and the last few weeks has looked good just at a time when everyone else has looked so poor. Someone else said it somewhere about warnock losing the plot and I think his treatment of adel is part of that, he is always joking at his expense, offering to personally drive him to Paris etc, how's any of this helping morale? I know adel is no saint but I actually think the last few weeks hes looked so much more the team player and boy was he putting in some nice passes and through balls. Id love him to stay as I think he could be the difference for us, if he does well in Africa he'll possibly be back to his best.

Ok so apparently there is an article somewhere saying Samba would not discuss terms with us should a fee be agreed with Blackburn. He is going to Spurs so we can get Bassong. Would rather have Onouha than Bassong.

I see your point sirpie but for me, Alex would be my numero uno because he's the one that's missing most, he made Terry look good (as did Carvalho) Onouha is an exellent choice for future proofing so also a good choice. I think Collins is an OK defender but not one I would rave about but have probably seen less of him than others. All three it is then!

I hope AT stays too but there are some short memories on this board (& others) about how he played previously. I suspect his resurgence has been about his temporary banishment to the reserves by Warnock but now he's playing well everyone is saying how could we have left him out #goldfishmemory

I thought Neil has managed him really well tbh. It was obvious that something was wrong with him so Neil dropped him. He has come back fitter, sharper and more confident. He has also somehow learned the skill of teamwork lol.

Then without him we rapidly became relegation fodder. The results with him in the team and without backs up this as a fact.

CPR my point was that this board and others were awash with people saying he doesn't do enough/offer enough/sell sell sell and now some of the same people point to his exclusion as proof of NWs tactical naivety...no one can say NW hasn't got the best out of AT, it just shows the weakness in the anti-Warnock argument.

Spurs boss reveals Toon star could be sold on the cheap Published 22:28 08/01/12 By Darren Lewis (10) Recommend (2) Harry Redknapp has sparked a massive transfer scramble for Newcastle’s Demba Ba by revealing his release clause is around HALF the £10million mooted over the weekend.
Officials at St James’ Park have been desperate to keep a lid on the fact that the striker, who has netted 15 times this season, is available for the right fee.
But asked about a £10m release clause, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said: “I think you will find it is a lot less than that.”
Asked if was as little as £7m, Redknapp added: “Even less than that.”
A whole host of clubs are set to investigate poaching the predator who destroyed Manchester United last week with an outstanding display.
Liverpool, Sunderland, Everton and QPR are all in the hunt for reinforcements up front. Ba left West Ham last summer as he had a clause in his contract saying he could quit if they were relegated.
Ba has blown away fears over a knee injury that prompted Stoke to pull out of a move for him last year.

Assume new manager will mean new thinking about the players we need/get rid of.
Tony had better get his skates on, the clock is ticking and we don't have a manager!!
