Bump/Edit 38 Years ago today- October 24th 1984: Alan Mullery's Blue and White Army!....crushed Partisan Belgrade in the FIRST LEG! Played at Highbury From Bushman Archives (posted below as well)Played at Highbury cos of our plastic pitch And a couple of weeks later...
-: QPR Knocked out of Europe by Partizan Belgrade!- November 7, 1984: UEFA CUP: Partizan Belgrade 4 QPR 0Perhaps the nadir of Alan Mullery six-month managership of a QPR team which (with the exception of Garry Bannister replacing Clive Allen)Mllery inherited from Terry Venables. A couple of weeks previously, QPR had beaten Partizan Belgrade 6-2 in the UEFA Cup (played at Highbury becuase of a ban on Loftus Road because of its "plastic pitch."). In the return game in Belgrade, QPR were through as long as they avoided a 0-4 or 1-5 defeat. Unfortunately, QPR didn't manage this, and QPR were amazing knocked out of Europe. And that was the last time QPR played in the EUFA Cup!) QPR's team that night: Hucker Chivers Wicks Fenwick Dawes Gregory Waddock Fillery Fereday Stainrod Bannister Sub: Mickelwhite

I was 15 and went on my own to the game. I recall not having any money to get my tea as i told my mum that i was going to watch rangers she naturally thought it was at lr, and as with every home game i went to i was fed by my aunt who lived on ellerslie before kick off. I was starving, cold and soaked through by the time i got back to latimer rd..and to add to that i got a clip round the ear for coming home late. But the score and occasion made up for all that.
And then the away leg....and as happens at QPR per normal.....we f*ck it all up.
