news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/14864037.stmTEAM NEWSWolves' striker Steven Fletcher faces a fitness test on the groin injury he picked up last weekend. Winger Matt Jarvis has declared himself fit after recent ankle problems. QPR look set to name the same side that played Newcastle, with new signing Armand Traore overcoming the cramp that forced him off. Manager Neil Warnock is still unable to call upon Kieron Dyer (foot), Jamie Mackie (leg) and Rob Hulse (knee) through injury. MATCH PREVIEWI'm looking forward to the first Premier League encounter between these two clubs, who have both enjoyed stellar top-flight moments in their histories but whose supporters have also seen the other side of the coin with years in the doldrums. I was at Loftus Road on Monday night and there's no doubt QPR are entering an exciting new phase in their history. Many thought, myself included, that the club's infrastructure wasn't sufficiently set up for Premier League survival but Tony Fernandes' takeover has changed all that. Not only has he injected cash, but also a swagger and feelgood factor to the place. Neil Warnock spent his late influx of cash wisely. Defenders Luke Young, Anton Ferdinand and Danny Gabbidon bring plenty of Premier League experience. Obviously Joey Barton's appointment as skipper has taken the headlines but I see it as an intelligent way of focusing the England hopeful's mind. However, my pick of the crop is Shaun Wright-Phillips, who had a great game on Monday. His career has suffered in the big squad environment of both Manchester City and Chelsea but I expect him to thrive at QPR, where he will have the added confidence of playing week-in, week-out. My worry for his new side is they have got to take the chances he provides; had any one of his crosses been turned in against Newcastle they would have turned one point into a precious three. Considering their fine start to the campaign I was a bit surprised that Wolves didn't give Tottenham a stronger run for their money last time out. The stability and leadership of new skipper Roger Johnson at the heart of their defence has allowed Mick McCarthy to be more adventurous by playing two up front this season. I'm expecting a good, open encounter on the big Molineux pitch, with both clubs possessing several flair players. It's great to see Wolves' Michael Kightly back in action on the wing after injury and I believe the wide areas are the key battle grounds where the game will be won. I'm also anticipating big things of QPR's top scorer from last season, Adel Taarabt, if he can escape the shackles of Karl Henry. MATCH FACTS Head-to-head- This is the 37th meeting between the sides. Wolves have won 15 times, QPR nine and there have been 13 draws.
- It's the first top-flight league meeting between the clubs since the 1983/84 season, when QPR completed the league double over Wolves, including an emphatic 4-0 win at Molineux.
- Wolves have lost only one of their last 15 league matches against Queens Park Rangers dating back to September 1998. That defeat was by 1-0 at Loftus Road in December 2008, with Martin Rowlands the scorer.
- Wolves won their most recent encounter 1-0 in April 2009, when Sylvan Ebanks-Blake scored the winner in the Championship clash. Four of that starting line-up (Hennessey, Berra, Henry and Ward) began last time out against Tottenham. QPR's line-up against Newcastle had no survivors from that defeat at Molineux.
Wolves- Mick McCarthy's men are winless in their last two league matches and have failed to score in 225 minutes.
- This is Wolves' third straight home match against a side from the capital; they won one and lost one of the previous two.
- Stephen Ward is set to make his 150th league appearance for Wolves.
QPR- Rangers have scored just once in 360 minutes of Premier League football this term - that was Tommy Smith's winner at Everton. If they fail to score on Saturday, it will equal their Premier League club record of three matches in a row without a goal, set from August to September 1992 and April to May 1995.
- QPR have kept two clean sheets in three games since their 4-0 capitulation at home to Bolton on the opening day of the season.
- QPR have used 26 different players in the league this season - the equal-most in the division with Arsenal.
- Neil Warnock has won only one of 10 matches against Wolves, including Sheffield United's 3-0 defeat in the 2003 Championship Play-Off final.
- Jay Bothroyd scored 12 goals in 57 league matches for Wolves between 2006 and 2008.

A bit on Fred , anyone see him play ? In Action On The Front To say that Fred is an artist with the ball is no exaggeration but like all players of his class he likes the wet grounds best. Fred first came to our notice during the War years when he played about four games for QPR as a guest. He was then an amateur on the list of Stockport County.
He moved with his Army unit to N.Ireland and in company with Frank Neary played for Glentoran FC. His scheming was largely responsible for Frank Neary scoring a crop of goals and for Glentoran winning the County Of Antrim Challenge Shield and also the All-Ireland Cup, beating Belfast Celtic in each competition, in the former 4-1 and in the latter on aggregate 5-4. Fred holds a very nice All-Ireland Cup winners gold medal.
Soon after Ted Vizard took control of Wolverhampton Wanderers we learned that Fred Ramscar had signed professional forms for Wolves. When his soldiering days were over and he could get down to full training, he very soon gained his place in the Wolves first team. On October 25th 1947, QPR paid their highest ever, so far, transfer fee to Wolves and Fred returned to Loftus Road.
My father always spoke of Fred very highly. He called him a gem Your father was right, Bman. I saw Fred play many times in the immediate postwar years. He was an inside forward who played for us about 60 or so times but only scored about 7 or 8 goals. He was, however, a real grafter and made numerous assists. Remember, we had guys like Addinall and Hatton then and they were prolific goalscorers year after year thanks in no small way to Fred's providing. As a matter of interest, Fred came into his own as a scorer when he went to Northampton where he scored 59 goals in 156 games played.

How did your dad take the defeat harlow? hope your still talking! when do you post the villa one H,? look forward to these, and also those questions i phoned him at 3.11 as he was out for the day to remind him of the score! He watched the highlights and said they were gutless and played poor but he took it well said we totally deserved it and is a great admirer of Neil Warnock , wanted him as manager at Molineux years ago. Said we have added wisely since TF and i said seeing as he took he so well will treat him to the QPR home game. Mind you thats going to be a war now eh !! The one player he slates endlessly being a wolves fan is Ebanks Blake he thinks hes dross , think we tried to sign him once.

Facts and figures ahead of the Premier League clash between Queens Park Rangers and Wolverhampton Wanderers at Loftus Road. Steven Fletcher has scored in each of his last four Premier League away appearances. Wolves have only won seven of 37 Premier League games against London clubs. There have been just two goals scored in the last four league meetings between Wolves and QPR at Loftus Road. QPR have won just one of their last 11 home matches in all competitions with Wolves (W1 D7 L3), but that was the last encounter in December 2008. Victory over Wigan ended a run of five games without a win on home soil for QPR (W0 D1 L4). Wolves have won none of their last 10 Premier League away games (W0 D4 L6) but have drawn the last three in a row, including two in London. Wolves have kept one clean sheet in their last 15 Premier League away games. Wolves have won none of their last nine Premier League matches (D4 L5). Mick McCarthy’s side have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 20 Premier League games. Wolves are the only team not to score a goal from outside the box this season. uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/03022012/58/premier-league-match-facts-qpr-v-wolves.html

Remember vividly Les Allen's Second Division QPR Crushing First Division Wolves in the League Cup at Loftus Road in a midweek game,1969/70: 3-0 at half time I thing. 3-1 Final. Wolves with the great Derek Dougan...I think two from Frank Clarke.
