West Ham Appearances (Don't know how many started; how many as sub in each season. In total: 30 Premiership appearances. 15 starts. 15 as sub. No goals - (And yes I know the math below adds to slightly more. Either I messed up or they did.) Welcome Boston...all QPR "deals" fill me with dread, a bit like having Harold Shipman as your GP the cure is often worse than the disease Peter Ridsdale. The Harold Shipman of football?

Rehab Institute of W London. Welcome Gramps. Your even older than me. Thanks LR. I'm older than just about everybody! Worrying that Dyer is likely to spend so much time in treatment but at least those doing the treating will be guaranteed plenty of work!

I saw him on SSN yesterday at Hampton school, I wasn't sure if he was standing by railings or using a zimmer frame.

It's official: www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2391693,00.html Just keep on signing those England Aces. [Macmoish copy/paste] Official Site
EXCLUSIVE: DYER PENS ONE-YEAR DEAL Wed 13 Jul 2011 Queens Park Rangers Football Club have swooped to bring experienced England midfielder Kieron Dyer to Loftus Road. The 32 year-old - who was a free agent following his release from West Ham United - has penned a one-year deal in W12 and becomes Neil Warnock's second summer signing following hot on the heels of the addition of England ace Jay Bothroyd. A player with exceptional ability, Dyer's career has been stop-start in recent years due to injury, but the talented midfielder - who has 30-plus England caps to his name - is looking forward to a fresh start in the famous Blue and White Hoops and can't wait to make up for lost time. "I'm just delighted to be here," he told www.qpr.co.uk. "QPR are an ambitious Club and when I sat down with Neil and he explained the vision for the Club - specifically the hunger and the determination of the squad - I just wanted to be part of it. He totally sold the Club to me." Dyer added: "I've got something to prove after the couple of years I've had, but I feel good and I'm really looking forward to playing my part next season."R's gaffer Warnock added: "When a player of Kieron's ability becomes available, you'd be crazy not to be interested. "As far as I'm concerned it's a gamble worth taking. He really impressed me in training and it looks like he has been working hard on his fitness throughout the summer. "I instantly liked him when we met. You get feelings like that as a Manager. "He's had a lot of problems, but he's got something to prove. He's a hell of a good player and I still think he's got an opportunity to impress with us. "He has a lot of experience and is desperate to play in the Premier League again. I like the hunger he's got and he wants to prove a point."

Good signing IMO, as long as it is on a pay as you play deal, which it doesn't say on the offy.

Whatever works. In Warnock we trust (I suppose).
I forgot...is he a winger?

So when are we going to have the press conference with Dyer and Bothroyd? hopefully later on today.

Fact remains that for the last FOUR years, he's played very little. So it's not one bad injury or two...Consistent
And I don't see how playing for a new team will change that.
But...Good luck to him!

On the positive side, this presumably sends some kind of message to the current QPR players that we're not totally abandoning hope of Premiership survival - and that Warnock actually may be around (at least till bad results). Hopefully that in of itself will give some confidence boost.

I would say worth a gamble. If he is injury free this year he will be the best pick up in the Premiership. NW says he feels good about him and in Warnock we trust!!!

Now I admit that I am not happy with signing Dyer on football grounds but accept that this is due to personal views & others will rate his ability.
What I would like to ask is why was there such an outcry (quite rightly) on Marlon King but not one word said against Dyer?
Unless I am completely wrong Dyer has been prosecuted & found guilty of assaulting a female but avoided a prison sentence. Other accusations have been made against him but I don't think that he was charged with these.

Mac
I live in Ipswich & I'm at least 95% sure that he wea found guilty in Ipswich Crown Court of assault, ABH or GBH for beating up a woman in Ipswich while he was a Newcastle player.
He was also one of the Newcastle players named in alledged rape charges a few years ago.
His reputation in Ipswich is not good to say the least.

Unless I am completely wrong Dyer has been prosecuted & found guilty of assaulting a female but avoided a prison sentence. Other accusations have been made against him but I don't think that he was charged with these. Marlon King was found guilty of actual assault on a young girl, has since kept on denying it not showing a single shred of remorse or guilt nor evidence to prove otherwise and as such has yet to aknowledge his victim let alone apologise for his actions. Keiron Dyer has been charged with assault by means of indecent exposure and for allegedly being part of a group of footballers who allegedly forced a young girl to have sex with all of them in a hotel room. He has, not to my knowledge been found guilty of any of these and whilst his attitude as a young man towards women was, in my eyes immature and repulsive, he is innocent of these allegations after actual investigation and has since admitted the errors of his past, shown remorse for his behaviour and demonstrated a more mature attitude in recent years. I'm all for believing in second chances but bullies like King have to earn them and he's not even admitted any wrongdoing yet.

I've never liked or rated Dyer.
As a person, as Mark points, out, I'm prepared to give him the benefit but I still don't rate him, never have! The epitome of English football's mistakes and probably one of the first of the head down and run like fark brigade!
