How he has the balls to say Faurlin was othing when he (and the club) were happy to point out he was our record transfer defies belief!
How people still believe him I will never know.

It was only 4 months ago that he was pointing out all of Palidini's big money signings.
All this spinning has made him do an about turn.
Must be dizzy and confused.
The PR campaign for Palidini just went up a gear.
Transparent and pathetic as well as damaging to our club.

It's certainly very strange. Players I recall as being priced at certain amount suddenly down priced. Faurlin it turns out was actually a free
Wages are not counted Signing on fees and loan fees are not counted Agents fees are not counted
And of course what does it matter, since Paladini was not responsible for these signings

I'm gonna get accused of running to Reports Site here but the transparency is shocking.
I can't believe Pete will not acknowledge that a £1 million fee for Connolly was commonly quoted and then won't back up how he aquired those fee's.
Absolutely shameful, trying to step up the Paladini PR Machine and got caught out!

His nickname is 'Petey The Liar' for a reason. Still as long as it keeps their hit rate up he'll be the one laughing. Best to ignore Gianni's errand boy IMO.

Football is a strange business... What about the salaries??
So he is actually saying GP was responsible for all of them?

That is possibly the most hilarious thread I have ever read.
Good to see the chief apologist in ful spin mode. This is the man who when people complained that nothing was being spent on players pointed out the big wages, etc., suddenly we have failed because we didn't spend anything under Flavio.
This is the man who claims he has done loads of research, but will not show the results of that research to anyone (apart from a link to a story in the Mail!)
This is the man that previously told us that Kevin Blackwell would be our next manager according to his top "sauces". Then when pressed as to why this never happened said that his top sources where the fact that Sheff U had announced a press conference on their offy and some one had said that KB was off on a Sheff U MB.
This is the man who constantly refuses to acknowledge statistics or facts if they do not back his (or whoever is running the show over there's) warped view of reality. Yet is happy to constantly spout managers win percentage from Wikipedia and accuse fans of lying if they point out that possibly that isn't the best gauge of a manager.
The guy is a complete joke.....

The story keeps changing doesn't it? It's certainly not what's been posted previously by the same author. Arise: Sir Gianni-the-Blameless Well the ACCOUNTS, which are of course, looking back at the previous year showed a big increased loss, as we increased our spending on players and contracts... And WHO was in charge of contracting Last Year's Accounts www.qpr.co.uk/staticFiles/ba/39/0,,10373~145850,00.pdf

for £3.5m we could have bought that argentine club lock stock and barrell - there's absolutely no way faurlin could have cost that much.
totting it up quickly, and allowing for unknowns, ground renovation, agents fees, i'm guessing flavio spent no more than £4m altogether tops.
the amazing thing about it though is that if he wasn't SO stupid, impatient and greedy it was a pretty cunning business plan on paper - he's right to think a club doesn't need to spend lavishly to get out of this division anyway. but to reel the sponsors £££ in with all the glamour he had to trick the fans too, and that's when it all went sour..."
You don't stand a chance against this sort of rationale. I am starting to hope we get relegated just so we can remove the deadwood from the club, clean the slate fully and start again. What a depressing situation to find oneself in.

Pete treats facts like Woolies pick'n'mix and he only ever picks out the Paladini assortment i.e. all nuts and soft centres.
I enjoy my journeys onto WATRBs and never said I'd didn't, but I've never signed up to that board under a new name and caused mischief as he did here.

I'm sure one can find numerous posts (maybe saying different things) But this on WATRB qblockpete07-07-2009, 03:16 PM Who cares 3.5 million shows some ambition -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MYU07-07-2009, 03:17 PM That must be a record then, Mike Sheron was 2.75 million. I think thats right? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EYR07-07-2009, 03:17 PM £3.5m? ? Thats all of the transfer budget gone then Lets hope hes the dogs bol#ocks -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- qblockpete07-07-2009, 03:18 PM come on EYR If that figure is true, than shows we are upping the stakes a bit -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ellerslie07-07-2009, 03:19 PM That must be a record then, Mike Sheron was 2.75 million. I think thats right? I make you correct there also. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- garyqpr4eva07-07-2009, 03:20 PM shows ambition but sadly the ambition needs to be placed into a striker!!! hope the lad does well, 3.5m isnt that a new record fee paid for us? unless our board have decided to go for it i dont expect us to sign anybody near a mil for this summer unless dex, legs, buz or whoever is sold to make more money. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ScottJones07-07-2009, 03:20 PM Happy Frigging days - honestly I thought it was a year loan - shows some great ambition that we're SPENDING SOME MONEY!!!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- qblockpete07-07-2009, 03:22 PM Agree, with wanting a striker but this tells me something. 3.5 million for a midfielder, does show we are not going to blink about paying thr right money for the right striker. A signing like this will really put the rest of the players on their toes. www.wearetherangersboys.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-20323.html

On the other hand Sir Les on WATRB found... September 17-09-2009 Where is the proof that FB has put millions into the club? Pete: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A good few million at the start. Around 6 million on players first transfer window www.wearetherangersboys.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30404&highlight=millionAnd the response/Explanation Pete Thats what I believed like many others. Until of course I did my research

Don't know about that "research" but we spent 5 mill as Briatore promised. Then spent nothing in the summer until the outlay was recouped in season ticket sales.

If it was REALLY true that we hadn't spent much money on transfers etc, I'd imagine the Authorities would want to demand an immediate audit of the club to discover where all the money went and how the club lost so much money in the last couple of years.
