They dont call him "Free Seat Pete" for nothing.

To be honest I don't think that he may have gotten a free seat for a brief period, is THE issue. Nor being given a press card/press access.
It's the broader matter: What is the proper/acceptible "role" of a QPR fan? Who if anyone determines who is and who is not a QPR fan? Are there any limits either to questions you should ask - or your willingness to serve as an appologist for one club employee or an apparacthcik of a club hierarchy with no QPR history? Should you be held accountable for past statements you made/past fabrications...?

And as Bushman says: Really focus on the OSC questions.
(And the very fact that one particular person, with his particular ties, doesn't want these questions asked, surely should make one want even more, these questions asked and answered)

Obviously the bloke is ridiculous & doesnt invite anything other than ridicule, but he & the way he has positioned himself is an "issue" at our Football Club & it needs to be discussed or dealt with until it isnt an issue at our Football Club anymore. He mugs himself off, that's a given, but he mugs our Football Club off as well.

It is when your website was set up to foul mouth all the others and get people on to your site to be told lies misinformation and a mouth piece for Gianni Paladini as it was at that time,

The more QPR fans who question the whole set up of the OSC and what they actually do on our so called behalf the better I reckon

Does anyone know yet when & where the OSC EGM is to be held? I know I won't be there but am really interested in the outcome.
It is nice to know that Pete has given me permission to have asked questions. What a pity he didn't let the club know they could answer them 2 weeks ago.
I can assure everyone that when I mailed the club directly after I read their statement on the meeting & without a prompt from anyone. I still find the that the statement offends me & whoever decided that a statement should be issued badly misread the mood of supporters.
To be fair to the committee, I don't doubt that they are all Rangers diehards & have the interests of Rangers fans at heart. However, I do feel that they have been placed in a situation that has put them out of their depth. There is no shame in that as it could happen to us all.
Let us read the minutes before each one of us decides how as individuals or as a group to act.

Isleworth & Joe, I see that you posted on the WATRBS thread.
Now, I know that Mac does not need any defending by us, but if you wish you can tell them that at least one person who asked the questions of the club (and at an early stage) IS a member & you can quote my thanks to Pete if you wish!

Apologies for the offensive terminology obviously somewhere in my postings about the OSC. For those who may have missed what I posted on the QPR Report Blog, see below. For those who wish, you're obviously free to read the "updates" from the Club apparatchik re "QPR Report" and the role of the OSC. I'll just cite just one: WATRB's Pete, June 25: "...S ome are under illusions the OSC is some kind of spokes group for the fan base. .They are not and never been an orgnisation who speak on behalf of a group or all of the fan base." www.wearetherangersboys.com/forum/showthread.php?p=641429#post641429 June 3rd QPR-OSC Joint Statement: "The meeting also highlighted the i mportance of the OSC as a mouthpiece for the fans....encourage the fans to contact the OSC with any topics they would like discussed. ...The Club hopes that other supporters groups will also be able to hold regular meetings with the OSC, in order to allow the OSC to better communicate their views to us." Anyway my posts are all out there on this board or on the blog QPR Report Blog - June 25: Update re The QPR Official Supporters Club (OSC)- Three weeks ago, the club and the Official Supporters Club(OSC) announced in a joint statement that they had met. Various questions were subsequently asked about the Official Supporters Club. (See below some "Open Questions" below) The club have now responded to a questioner and have promised that minutes of the meeting will be posted on Monday, June 26. According to another QPR Report poster: the following seven people make up the Committee of the Official Supporters Club: - Karen Hampshire - Zach Hampshire - Brian Ahearne - Linda Favell - Rebecca Favell - Brian Patterson - Simon Patterson Ian Stenning QPR and the Official Supporters Club: Some Open QuestionsTwo weeks ago, (June 3rd) QPR and the QPR Official Supporters Club (OSC) issued a joint statement about the OSC meeting with Club Representatives about among other things, ticket prices. The joint statement went on to say "The meeting also highlighted the importance of the OSC as a mouthpiece for the fans. It was agreed that moving forward, the OSC would continue to meet frequently and will aim to meet monthly with the Club to discuss any issues or concerns that the fans might have. The Club proposes to publish a reminder of the upcoming meeting a week in advance and encourage the fans to contact the OSC with any topics they would like discussed. A summary of the points of discussion and the agreed next steps will be made available on the Club website following each meeting. The Club hopes that other supporters groups will also be able to hold regular meetings with the OSC, in order to allow the OSC to better communicate their views to us." As others have noted, the OSC Constitution sets out certain things and a number of questions have been asked re the Official Supporters Club and how things are run. And a letter to the OSC was sent from 30+ fans, meeting the OSC bylaws. Two weeks later, things remain as unclear as two weeks ago. So: Four Open Questions to the OSC and the Club (and there are probably quite a few other questions that could be posed. [Note: These Questions were composed by someone else and were sent to the club several days ago. Thus far, the questions have yet to be answered.] 1) What was the response by the club to the OSC comments regarding the incredible rises in the cost of season tickets? 2) When will the minutes of the meeting be published? 3) As a member of the OSC (by being a ST holder) please could you inform me as to whom the representatives are? 4) How are the representatives of the OSC elected? - The Official Supporters Club (OSC) Website - The Official Supporters Club (OSC) Constitution - See Also: QPR Report Blog June 7- The Club's Effort to "Syphon" Access Through Its Designated Fan Group "Queen's Park Rangers today posted on its Official Site an announcement regarding its meeting with the Official Supporters Club (OSC). The club reaffirms its desire to control/syphon access to the club via its "Official" Supporters Club - rather than groups such as LSA or Indys or the various QPR fan sites.... qprreportblog.blogspot.com/2011/06/qpr-official-supporters-club-osc-update.html

I think it's good to ask questions and I think members of the osd would be happy to answer them, it shows that they are being noticed and perhaps can give a more informed account of what happens. saves the lies, rumours and speculation.

Yes it would be nice if they would make a statement on the OSC website who they are on the committee and how they were voted on it. No one is questioning the good work they do, such as the charity work, the organising of coaches for away games, (except for the rip off price to go to the Millwall game), social events raising money. In fact what the Supporters Club has always done since it's creation 75 years ago. The only difference is you always new through the club who was on it and how they were elected in the past. As Dan Laryea QPR Marketing said to me on Thursday. We do need to improve our contact with the clubs supporters and we are trying to do so. Personnally I think Dan has got it right As for the personal attack on Mac from a certain person is nothing but a disgrace and that person should hold his head in shame.

The supporters club hasn't changed much on 40 years, where's the supporters club bar now? I don't know, even though I had a season ticket for 8 years and had membership for 4, I don't know, Is there a supporters club bar any more? 40 years ago me an 3 others were in the supporters club bar, corner of south africa and school end, when Millwall, some in butchers coats invaded around 1 o clock. It was impossible to run so we didn't. At the time we were "heroes" in this day and age we would have been " out of control". We did have our membership taken away though because we incited the visiting fans! All they've ever done is run coaches, in an official capacity. I've never been on an official coach. They did not do pick ups and they would not stop, so we gave them a miss. Doesn't mean they are not a great service for some because they are. So what in this day and age is the benefit of being a member? As for the comments of a self appointed fans spokesman who speaks for nobody other than about 6 people, who I think I can actually name, I say ignore the w.anker, his whole aim, which has been evident for about seven years, is to divide the fanbase.
