I know that many won't care & that some may not understand , but when I was converted by relegation in 68-69 I became a supporter of Queens Park Rangers (and Chesham United).
There, I have said it. Queens Park Rangers. Or Rangers for short. Not bloody QPR!
Now it is true that over the years I have mellowed & have passed the hate to dislike stages, but I still find it hard to bare us being called QPR . Perhaps this is a sign of my aging & of course I have referred to QPR in various songs/chants over the years - Yes Yes Yes it's the QPR attack - comes readily to mind.
I also understand that when writing QPR is a space saver & is quicker/easier. I can live with this but when I hear pundits calling us QPR & never by our name I start to bristle.
After all, when do they ever say PNE, WBA or WHU! Even worse is the reading of the results. There is no excuse then not to call us by name - James Alexander-Gordon always did.
As I stated earlier, you may not be bothered by this development (which has got worse as the years have passed by) but will you be happy if at any time a move is made to change the name officially to QPR? This could certainly happen if the club ever moved from Loftus Road.
Unlike most of you, I did not care when the club badge was changed. To me we forfeited our right to complain when the badge changed from the old Hammersmith coat of arms. A lapel badge of which I wore with pride, even if this did get me hit in Middlesbrough!
Now, some will agree with me & so I ask the more articular & persuasive among you to protect the name of QUEENS PARK RANGERS.
Having got this of my chest I can now start preparing myself for the Sheffield United game & onwards to victory!

QPR works fine for me! WE ARE QPR. Simple as that. Unlike most of you, I did not care when the club badge was changed. To me we forfeited our right to complain when the badge changed from the old Hammersmith coat of arms. A lapel badge of which I wore with pride, even if this did get me hit in Middlesbrough! Others before you would say we forfeited our right to complain about the crest when we changed to the Hammersmith badge as the club was seen as having it's roots in Paddington and not Hammersmith and that the Hammersmith badge is not a true representation of the club. Now, some will agree with me & so I ask the more articular & persuasive among you to protect the name of QUEENS PARK RANGERS. The more articulate members amongst us would probably take you to task for missing out the apostrophe on Queen's. ;D

Excellent, and valid, point. Though, on the same logic, would many have a moan if we changed our home kit back to the original green and white hoops, white shorts and black socks....?

w12, it's the button to the left of the "A" on your keyboard. y'welcome.
You call this an argument.... really? its a discussion.
no1 is overlooking what the lads have done this season, believe me.
however we are in the fantastic situation where we can discuss pointless issues such as this, seeing as we don't have to worry about relegation.

Given that we don't and never have played in Queen's Park, one might say that there is a rather fundamental flaw in our name, however it's abbreviated...
How about Bush Rangers?
