I saw discussion on another board re our longest unbeaten run...
As I recall it was under Gordon Jago: 20 (or 21? games) The 12 games till end of season after we sold Rodney Marsh (March 1972) and went on till September 1972 - and then in 72/73, 8 games undefeated from the start of the 1972/73 season. And then defeat.
Others concurr?

So in March 72-September 72 run, we just equalled the existing record?

Must be a great feeling right now to be a player at Loftus Road...

End 0f 1970 -71 19/3/71 Starting here unbeaten in 12 games in the league 7 wins and 5 draws unbeaten in twelve league games!
Start of 1971-72 12/8/72 carrying on unbeaten in 8 league games 2 wins 6 draws before losing to Hull 4-1 then won the next 5 games after the Hull loss!
20 game unbeaten league run only 9 wins though 11 draws! The above was in old division 2 !
The 1966-67 record was in old division 3 started drawing the first game ,then losing to Watford! After the Watford game went on 15 game unbeaten run winning 11 drawing 4 before losing 1-0 to Oldham.
After the Oldham game went on 20 game unbeaten run before losing 2-0 to Walsall. Winning 12 losing 8 !This was a better season 14 and 20 unbeaten with a 1-0 loss in the middle !
This was however third tier and the other 20 game unbeaten run over two seasons was second tier ! Did not bore you with all the results but some big scores in the div 3 (old)season !

Thanks Harlowranger
I saw many of the home games of that 1972 run, which started from the depth of depression after Rodney Marsh had been sold...and before the run ended, saw the arrival of Stan Bowles. The sale of Rodnee was one of those never-to-be forgotten moments for QPR fans.

"Traditionally" these records end when least expected - at home to the bottom team

I honestly don't care (very much)....As I said elsewhere...Turn more draws into wins...Even if a couple of draws also become losses

Does any of it count though? After all we lost to Vale. Linekar on MOTD last week mentioned that United were the only unbeate team in the country.

Yeah it counts ok Tobo because the other old records for 20 games unbeaten in the league they still lost cup games in between these i think, will double check ! Hows the Tonsilitus now , better i hope , horrid! my two just had it for over a week aswell , knocks you for six!

Well during the 20 game run of 66-67 we lost an fa cup game to Sheff weds 3-0 and the 20 game league run still counted! in 70/71 -71/72 was over two seasons didnt lose in cup between ! BUT MADE A MISTAKE THINK IT WAS 21 UNBEATEN NOT 20 !WAS 13 AT THE END OF THE SEASON PLUS 8 NEXT SEASON ! So in one season record 20 unbeaten , butover 2 seasons =21 !

Probably the last QPR Manager to pick up so many draws was...Paulo Sousa!

Ok fair enough Tonsillitus is ok-ish. Like you say it knocks you out. Lots of pills and sitting wrapped up warm gets very dull very quickly!

Well I think its a great record. Really have to give credit to Warnock, and for the club. after all they had to hire him also. I am still curious about how it came about. Did we approach him, or did he approach the club?

As reported we approached him - and it went on for a couple of weeks...
We were also interested the year before

Well thats interesting. I did not recall that it had been reported before so it goes. Still, that could suggest
that it was Paladini that approached him, unless Amit was the origin. Good job it didnt because Brie
would have had his job fairly quickly. Then, after what else was posted here before, was that Warnock would not have been involved with QPR if Briatore was in charge.
