R'S SIGN DUSKO TOSIC Posted on: Thu 25 Mar 2010 QPR Manager Neil Warnock has swooped to signed Dusko Tosic on loan from Premiership outfit Portsmouth until the end of the season, subject to Football League approval. After initially preventing Portsmouth from registering Tosic, the Premier League sanctioned the move provided he was immediately loaned to a team outside the top-flight. A host of Championship Clubs expressed an interest, but - having met with R's gaffer Warnock - the left back opted for a move to QPR. "I am delighted to be here," Tosic told www.qpr.co.uk. "All I want to do is play games, and hopefully I will get that chance here with Queens Park Rangers. "I didn't want to play for any Championship team, it had to be right. I have watched a couple of QPR matches and there are some very good players here. "The Club has a great tradition also, which is important." Serbian international Tosic, who can also play at centre back, is expected to go straight into the squad for Saturday's trip to Preston. R's gaffer Warnock is pleased to have secured the services of the sought-after 25-year-old, telling http://www.qpr.co.uk: "This is a good opportunity to have a look at a young international footballer between now and the end of the season." Article continues Advertisement MPU Tosic will wear squad number 26.

DUSKO TOSIC: IN PROFILE Posted on: Thu 25 Mar 2010 Dusko Tosic began his career with OFK Beograd in his native Serbia, making 80 appearances and scoring six goals before moving to French outfit Sochaux in 2006.
Tosic's reputation across the continent was growing by this stage and, as a result, he only spent one year in France before joining German giants Werder Bremen.
The left back, who is 6' 1", made 22 appearances for the Bundesliga side prior to joining Portsmouth in February of this year.
Tosic has made nine appearances for his national side to date, making his Serbia debut in November 2006 against Norway in a match which finished 1-1.

Know nothing about him. But if Sousa and Warnock both want him, that's encouraging.

I wonder if warnock got a cut? Why would he? Never heard of him being implicated in taking bungs and found nothing online to suggest otherwise. Might as well ask - wonder if you got a cut?

Addendum South Wales Post Tosic joins QPR Thursday, March 25, 2010, 19 SWANSEA City say they gave up on signing Dusko Tosic amid uncertainty over whether he would be cleared to join the club on an emergency loan.
The Serbian left-back had a spell training with Swansea, but complications over his registration eventually proved too difficult to sort out."We had to make a decision a couple of days ago and we weren't 100 per cent sure whether things would be sorted before the loan deadline," said Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins. Tosic agreed to join Swansea's Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers on loan until the end of the season before last night's deadline, although the move is subject to Football League clearance. Former Swans midfielder Andy Robinson, meanwhile, has joined hometown club Tranmere Rovers on loan for the rest of the season. Birkenhead-born Robinson, who has made just six appearances for Leeds this season, spent five years at Swansea. Tranmere boss Les Parry is hoping Robinson can help steer his side away from the League One trapdoor www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/football/Tosic-joins-QPR/article-1945362-detail/article.html

I've been saying we need a Left Back / any kind "Full Back" for about two years now, this season is over & was a completely self inflicted / hamstrung disgrace, & as far as I'm aware, this player wont be here next season, hence the "its hard to get excited anymore." comment. I dont expect us to sign world beaters or £1million pound players, all I ask for is integrity, honesty & players that are likely to aide the progress of Queens park rangers football club on the pitch as opposed to signing players purely on the basis of benefiting the bank accounts of dodgy agents & their "associates" Anyway, you know what you are going to get from me, if you dont like it, go and read something else, I'm not going to turn a blind eye to a transfer "policy" that at the very best has been dishonest & opaque.

Agree with this EXCEPT, this season is NOT over. Relegation has not been eliminated as a possibility. I do not think it's likely, but I have posted a list of very plausible results that COULD land us in the doo doo. 12 weeks ago, I would have welcomed this as a spell in the third tier wouldn't bothered my one jot, I support Rangers, whilst i want us to do as well as possible, that isn't really it. But now i think we are moving to a better situation. Yes Briatore is still knocking around, yes Paladini is still the wine waiter in the restaurant, yes we are owned by billionaire businessmen but as others have said here and elsewhere, it feels as though we have our Rangers back. I was opposed to his appointment, but Mr Warnock is largely to thank for that.

From Soccernet.com.......
Portsmouth have agreed to send Serbia international Dusko Tosic on loan to QPR, subject to approval from the Football League.
Tosic, a former Werder Bremen defender, signed for Pompey as a free agent in February as the cash-strapped club sought to reinforce their depleted squad, but the Premier League initially withheld his registration because of the financial situation at Fratton Park.
The 25-year-old was eventually allowed to sign on condition that he be loaned to a club in a lower division.
"I am delighted to be here," told QPR's official website. "All I want to do is play games and hopefully I will get that chance here with Queens Park Rangers.
"I didn't want to play for any Championship team, it had to be right. I have watched a couple of QPR matches and there are some very good players here."
Tosic was an unused substitute in Portsmouth's 4-1 FA Cup fifth-round win at Southampton in February, but failed to get on the pitch this season.
