Life is way too short to waste time listening to the broadcast when the whole thing was always going to be a Party Political Broadcast on behalf of the Paladini party. It looks like he has kept himself at the club and is going nowhere. What better way to secure his position by giving a Q&A, to a starstruck fan, that posts on his pet monkey's messageboard and then give another Q&A less than a week later on a radio station with a supporting casts of pet monkeys. Personally, I was just hoping that he would blend quietly into the background and is kept well away from the money and any decisions at the club. But he is working damned hard to make sure that doesn't happen.
Gianni Paladini is his name, self preservation is his game.

Did you not listen mike?
I thought it went well..to be honest, at first, for me it was a bit of a love fest and i was worried it would carry on but there were some interesting emails and some tough questions later on...one tough caller (albeit polite).
I had to dash to get the last tubes so missed the endings.
They had emails flying in left right and centre but i know they tried to get a good mix in and i thnk read 2 of yours?

it was a general QPR radio show..not an in-depth cross examining of the bloke and if you think any of my responses/questions were arse licking I suggest you listen to it again when the download is available as, im pretty damned sure i didnt "arse lick" once during the whole show.

I had to have a good wash after listening to that, if anything I am more dubious about Paladini after listening to that, didnt believe a word of it, he doesnt come across as a very trustworthy character to me. Why did he laugh when asked about the interest free £140k most QPR fans dont find it a laughing matter & wanted an answer. Also found it interesting that at no point did he outright deny Terry Balls question about getting a cut from transfer fee's. Dodgy Business IMO.

I agree about the first 10 minutes as i posted about earlier..and I think you'll see that I didnt contribute at all during that time. Re TBs question I think he laid down a challenge. As well as the caller he called in - again he laid down a challenege..you cant say fairer than that.

I thought there was a danger of some kind of group ejaculation in that first ten minutes, very strange to listen to, why do people behave like that around him ? doesnt dissuade cynics like me from ridiculing the whole "benevolent Uncle" thing where GP is concerned. The first hour was embarrassingly bad; "I Love Gianni", "No, I Love Gianni More!" It really was that bad, It did improve a little bit, but not enough to be taken seriously as an objective journalistic piece / interview. Glad I listened to it though, the only purpose it served, was to harden my opinions as I'm sure was the response of others having listened to such a display of "affection"
On a side note, Yes, it will be good if we get our old badge back, it is something that needs to happen to galvanise us as a club again, from a business point of view, Merchandise sales will also rise a good 10-15% so its a non brainer really, give us our old badge back.

The first hour was a bit smultzy I know, but it was not arse licking or whatever you want to call it. Also it was not an interview, it was an opportunity for us fans to talk with the Chairman of our football club, an interview would have been a one on one q & a with no interaction, and that would have been a little one sided. The QPR themed programmes are really for us fans to be able to have a chance to talk with players, managers and in this weeks instance Chairman. We have not been able to do this before, and I felt that having once tried to start a QPR matchday radio station prior to us going into adminstration, it was something that needed to be done, and with the internet we can get much further afield than we would have done back then. Its not a political show, with the various battlefields amongst the messageboards, I am personally not interested in the individual politics for the 3 hours it should be a united front getting over our views and having questions answered.Richard Langley, Kevin Gallen and Gareth Ainsworth have been on in the past few weeks, Karl Ready,Chris Plummer (and hopefully Matthew Rose )with be on 12th April. Plus in future weeks more ex and current players along with managers past and maybe .....present.It won't be a weekly show, but every three or four weeks. Also its not a music show , with some complaints on this board of the taste in music, if you want music there are 1000's of music stations to listen to,, the music just gives us a break break for a couple of minutes.More important though, is that we are now winning games and playing , which at the end of the day is what football is all about. I know I will get some comments about this post ,probably none to complimentary, but one thing I do know is that for the 90 mins on a Saturday or Tuesday we are a united QPR.

And obviously some not. I think if a lot of other ex players, coaches, managers are up for interviewing, it would be interesting.

I know I will get some comments about this post ,probably none to complimentary, but one thing I do know is that for the 90 mins on a Saturday or Tuesday we are a united QPR. Safe Rootbeer. Now having listened to it in full I applaud your efforts in bringing to us a QPR based radio show that is 3 hours long. Having done a pirate radio show for 4 years (Itch FM RIP) I know the value of playing some music during a discussion show (toilet break for one!) and also how hard it can be keeping the tempo going and from the show, even though music is a personal choice and your playlist does not reflect my taste (that's why I was a pirate!) it was good fun to listen to (in iTunes with a FWD button for the music! ) All of the arguments that have arisen from the show are old ones and in no way a reflection upon your efforts which are pretty much sterling. You are neither responsible for your guests opinions either so please do not take any critism of them on this board as in any way reflective of your radio station. A lot of us on here did listen to it live and a thread was even devoted to it as the show went on. In fact several of our moderators contributed Report and Blockhead, both had questions read out and asked so we can't complain over bias either which I applaud as well. Having had previous debates with a few of your guests though that were quite unhealthy in the past will of course taint our perspective in their regard but as I say this is in no way a judgement on you, except where people have actually critised your interview technique and the unbalanced nature of the show in some peoples opinion. They have every right to and you have every right to respond, so I am grateful for your presence on this board. My only real complaint is lack of knowledge about upcoming shows and am hoping that now you are a member here you can let us know about exact times and the like. I kind of assuming you will, so thanks in advance. Is it to cheeky to ask for MP3s of every show?

Mark thanks for your reply and ITCH FM rings a bell, do you remeber the old days of JFM,Invicta,Solar and Horizon??, the music actualy was not my choice, I just clicked on the first track in the data base, maybe next time I will look at the music in greater detail, we did try to play some of Gareths music when he came in, but as he brought it on his itouch, we did not want to chance him losing what was stored on it.When doing a radio show(as you would no doubt know), you try to spice up conversation, and the idea is that if someone does not agree with what is being said to phone in or email to put their point of view forward.I am sorry that I had not posted on here before to let you know about the programmes. I will also paste links on the site later on with Gareth, and Richard, for some reason Kevins show did not record, but he will be back on so I will make sure it works.I don't mind critisism as that can always be used for improvement. This is still in its infantcy, as the programme was originally inteneded a s a general sports show, but I saw that we had a possibly utilising it for maybe on my part a bit of self indulgence, orr maybe thats not the right term, collective self indulgence and have a 3 hour programme based on QPR,which is a very big part of all our lives. For the diary 12th April Karl ready,Chris Plummer and maybe Matt Rose,.We had Garry Thompson on the other week, I know he was only with us for a couple of seasons back in the 80's .

Thanks , and what part of the sunshine state are you in? I have known GP since he came into the club some seven years ago. Interesting re the ABC loan, the loan that scuppered my groups attempt at buying the club at the 11th hour. And that was the old regime, prior to GP being involved( just want to make that bit clear) We can cover any topic, however the legalities will need to be looked into of what can and can't be said, i would sit on the fence for most of it making comments of course ( got to get my ten penneth worth in), and just give everyone the opportunity to talk via phone or email. Yes I am and wish I had, but thats life, the united bit....well you know what I mean.We all want our club to get back to how it was in the 70's and 80's (maybe a bit of the 90's as well) It would not be interviewing , but a phone in an email in, also i was thinking of having a real fans forum one night, with (contradicting my last post) with a rep for each of the messageboards in the studio. Didnt exactly sound to me like you were "sitting on the fence" the other night Brian, sounded like a sermon for the sun shines out of GP's rear end to me ? Granted that the programme did improve to a more mature / balanced debate towards the end, but it was hard to take the proceedings seriously after the first ten minutes / hour, you all laid your cards on the table so to speak: GP Is God! I'm still none the wiser as to why any QPR fan would behave like this ? I dont think there has ever been an answer to this question across the whole of the QPR messageboards & hence these debates continue as to what exactly this Individual does at QPR ? Unfortunately for GP, there are very many questions but too few answers.

I would obviously comment on things that had affected me, like the loan that stopped our takeover, it annoyed me then and still does, that the people who took it out have just simply got away with it scott free. But I have to be careful with what I say as I know an awful lot about the goings on from Simon Cranes days to today(some good and some ......), but what I can say (without prejudice) is that the ship was a lot rockier when a certain 3 musketeers were at the helm

Fair enough Brian. May I also take this opportunity for insulting you earlier in this thread, I would certainly never set out to deliberately insult a fellow QPR fan, just honest heat of the moment stuff.
Listen back to that first ten minutes though, maybe it could have been spread on a little thinner in retrospect ?! lol
The show did improve though, after about two hours it was actually starting to get in to the nitty gritty, although a lot of things werent asked : Sousa's disgraceful sacking / Smear Campaigns / signing unfit players / agent fee's / etc /etc /etc

The GOT and the ABC loan have of course been much discussed on the Boards: They were of course before my blog and this board were created. But especially the ABC loan has been a topic repeatedly on my blog. I applaud you having Paladini on a guest. I hope he comes on again. (And if he does, I'll once again offer some questions). I haven't finished listening to the broadcast, so I don't really want to comment on what was said by Paladini or the other guests. I presume though that the purpose of the guests is to provide fan input rather than balance! Also as a matter of curiosity, how did it work: Did you call up Gianni to come on? Did he call you (or one his associates) call up to offer himself? And for a flashback: "Fan bids £12m to buy QPR" www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/3004874/Fan-bids-12m-to-buy-QPR.htmlMelzack's hopes grow news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/q/qpr/1544407.stmQPR takeover in doubt news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/q/qpr/1643291.stm

My all time favs were Laser 558 (The Wolfman the best DJ) and Touchdown FM from the early nineties. Ainsworth! What can I say? Typical front man! Has his music on his ipod but doesn't think to take a red book CD with radio friendly versions of all tracks, listed running times and a few station and DJ idents for you to use. Shocking!! ;D ;D Best of luck with it and I'll keep listening from now on as the shows happen. Karl Ready - why that haircut mate? (I'll work on better questions! )

I don't agree with you rootbeer. The whole programme was quite farcical. The fact that it included people from WATRB at the same time as GP shows that there was never any independant viewpoint.
There were many discrepancies and in fact QBP did most of the questioning, it was, quite frankly a complete joke and to call it arselicking is being kind.

It would be a good subject, I understand the legalities of the subject also but I do not think abc corp (qpr) was also the guys involved with abc Derby. Maybe you could put together a one hour special on it as you do know a little more than the average fan. thanks
