Francis Back Again at Stoke www.whydelilah.co.uk/news/11_Aug_2009/Francis+back+at+Stoke.htmlGERRY Francis was back at Stoke City today in a bid to iron out a deal to return to the club. Francis joined the first-team squad for training this morning ahead of a scheduled meeting with chief executive Tony Scholes this afternoon. The former England captain is hoping an agreement can be reached to allow him to return for a second season at the Britannia. He teamed up with Stoke as a consultant early last season and soon became a valued member of the managerial think tank. The ex-Tottenham manager left at the end of last season with concerns over the amount of travelling involved from his home in the Home Counties, however, while his son’s signing for QPR is another potential distraction. But today’s return to the Potteries suggests an agreement between Francis and the club is now close. www.whydelilah.co.uk/news/11_Aug_2009/Francis+back+at+Stoke.html
