I know he's still on Directory. Brown delight at Chairboys elevationFormer Wycombe midfielder Steve Brown believes the club are back where they belong after gaining promotion to League One. Brown played over 370 games for the Chairboys during a 10-year spell at Adams Park and admits he is still a massive fan. "I'm Wycombe's biggest fan and the club is a part of me. It's a fantastic football club and I'm delighted that promotion has been achieved," Brown told the club's official website. "On the whole the achievement is superb. The club have been wanting to get out of League Two for five years, they've done it and it's nice to see them back where they belong." Brown, who is now QPR youth team boss, paid tribute to manager Peter Taylor for guiding the club to their first ever automatic promotion. "His qualifications speak for themselves and his credentials as a manager are fantastic. Promotion in his first season with the club shows how good he is," added Brown. uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/14052009/63/brown-delight-chairboys-elevation.html

All very odd. It's as if he is on gardening leave and yet that isn't possible as he was presumably paid off?

I wouldn't presume that he has been paid off. One thing is certain, he was summarily dismissed on his return from the tournament at Viareggio. A decision probably made earlier. Possible reason ? Not the best of friends with the spy in the camp ?
