An under rated former player whom the club sold far to quickly. Don Shanks wearing number 8 and David McCreery wearing number 2

www.qpr.co.uk/page/AsiaTour/0,,10373~2851087,00.html #ASIATOUR: BLOG - MONDAY Posted on: Mon 16 Jul 2012 Press & PR Manager Ian Taylor brings you the latest news from the R's pre-season tour of Asia … Monday was the most satisfying day I've had on tour so far … for two very different reasons. The first, a well-attended press conference promoting Tuesday's game against a Sabah Select XI, which saw over 75 journalists and photographers come to the Sutera Harbour Hotel to speak exclusively to Mark Hughes, Ji-Sung Park, Philip Beard and Air Asia Commercial Director Kathleen Tan. All spoke with passion and pride regarding the R's inaugural tour of Asia, with Park especially speaking about his excitement about being part of the first English-based team to tour Sabah. It was a huge satisfaction for the media team to see so many press turn up for the conference and once again reiterated the popularity of the R's in this area of the world. Following that presser, it was onto our second CSR activity of the tour and a trip to a local school. Hastily arranged owing to the cancellation of a previously planned trip, the reception Nedum Onuoha, Michael Doughty and Max Ehmer got at SMK Putatan was something to behold, especially bearing in mind our first meeting with the Head Teacher only took place 24 hours prior! Hundreds of children lined the streets to welcome us and the screams of adulation that greeted the players will - in the words of Doughty - 'stay with them forever.' I'd echo such sentiments, because for those of us that were lucky enough to be involved, it was a day that we'll all remember for a very long time to come. You can read more about the trip tomorrow, but with the first friendly of the tour kicking off in less than 20 hours tomorrow night, I'm signing off for the evening. Night all ...

www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2850479,00.html R'S TRIO GO BACK TO SCHOOL Posted on: Tue 17 Jul 2012 Three members of the QPR First Team squad received a royal reception at a local school in Kota Kinabalu on Monday afternoon. Nedum Onuoha, along with young pros Michael Doughty and Max Ehmer, visited SMK Putatan School - a school whose teachers tutor children who have previously had very little chance to participate in sporting activity as part of the International Inspiration Foundation. The International Inspiration Foundation is the promise made by the London 2012 bid team to 'reach young people all around the world and connect them to the inspirational power of the Games so they are inspired to choose sport.' The programme aims to use the power of sport to enrich the lives of millions of children and young people of all abilities, in schools and communities across the world, particularly in developing countries, through the power of high quality and inclusive physical education, sport and play. The aspiration is to reach 12 million children in 20 countries. Mobbed on arrival by nearly 1,000 young children, the trio were met by screams of joy. After a brief welcome from the Head Teacher, the trio made their way to the school field, where the school team - comprising of youngsters between the age of 13 and 25 - were being put through their paces. On a pitch that many would deem unplayable, with an uneven surface and large puddles, Onuoha, Doughty and Ehmer participated in a series of brief three-on-three games, before signing autographs and posing for photographs with those lucky enough to be able to get near them. The CSR event ended with raptures of delight when CEO Philip Beard presented the Head Teacher with hundreds of free tickets for tomorrow's fixture against a Sabah Select XI at Likas Stadium. www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2851322,00.html PARK HOPES R'S ENTERTAIN Posted on: Tue 17 Jul 2012 New signing Ji-Sung Park says he hopes the R's can put on a performance for the Malaysian fans when they face a Sabah Select XI in Kota Kinabalu tonight (Tuesday). The fixture - which kicks off at 8.15pm local time - is QPR's first of their Asia Tour. Speaking ahead of this evening's fixture, the popular Park - an Asian icon after winning 100 caps for his native South Korea - told http://www.qpr.co.uk: "I've been to Asia a few times with Manchester United, but this is the first with QPR. "It's so far, so good. The organisation and the fans have been fantastic. "I'm looking forward to the rest of the tour. "Hopefully many fans will come to the stadium tonight to watch the game and we can show them quality football at a Premier League level. "The Asian fans are always very excited and enthusiastic and it's great to get the energy from them."

BUM!!! Unfortunately despite our best efforts we will not be able to provide live streaming of today's match against a Sabah Select XI. Due to internet limitations beyond our control we cannot stream the match to a suitable level while at the stadium. This is hugely frustrating for us and we apologise for the inconvenience caused. As a Club we make our best efforts to constantly improve the service we provide through the official channels and we will continue to do this. As such, there will inevitably be teething problems when new ideas are trialled. Once again we apologise to supporters who were looking forward to watching this game live. It remains our intention to provide live coverage of the remaining games here in south east Asia www.qpr.co.uk/page/AsiaTour/0,,10373~2851692,00.html
