R'S FLYING HIGH WITH AIRASIA
Posted on: Fri 18 May 2012

Queens Park Rangers Football Club is delighted to announce that AirAsia have signed a new contract as our Official Playing Kit Sponsor and Main Club Partner.

The airline's logo will now appear on the R's home, away and third shirts for the 2012/13 Barclays Premier League season.

AirAsia initially announced that the airline will be the Official away and third kit sponsor of QPR for the 2011/12 season. The relationship has developed and grown over the past season in the Premier League, and it was a natural progression to become the full kit sponsor.

QPR Marketing Director, Becky Grote, told www.qpr.co.uk: "We are delighted to continue our partnership with AirAsia for another season in the Premier League.

"Moving AirAsia onto all three of our playing kits allows them the maximum exposure to the growing worldwide football audience.

"We have great ambition for the growth of QPR in the Asian market, and AirAsia provide us with the perfect platform to raise awareness of the Club in new territories."

Kathleen Tan, Group Commercial Head of AirAsia, added: "QPR's achievement of securing their Premier League status mirrors our own hard work and challenges that we went through in making AirAsia the world's best low cost airline for three years in a row.

"We're proud to associate ourselves with QPR, a team with remarkable history in English football, whose unrelenting spirit reflects our own endeavour for success."

The new kits will be available in-store and online from July.

Created by Lotto's Research and Development Centre in close co-operation with QPR, the new Lotto home shirt stands out for its sleek and sober design with the traditional hoops in reflex blue and white.

The shirt has a fitted shape fit and is made of Poly Double Mesh 10, an extremely lightweight, breathable and elasticated fabric that ensures maximum comfort and the least amount of fatigue during play.

The shorts are all white with reflex blue details. As well as the Lotto logos on the side, the team shield stands out in a reduced size than on the shirt.

For the away matches Queens Park Rangers will wear an all red-and-white Lotto outfit featuring the same characteristics as the home kit.

Both shirts sport a V-shaped neck and mesh insert on the chest for perfect perspiration.

They look moody to me but I don't wear replica shirts anyway.

If I did I'd pick up last seasons quarters shirt for £22 at sportsdirect instead.

To be honest, the red looks great (as long as not having red/black hoops or horizontal stripes which would be my favourite)

But I don't like stripes. I like HOOPS...3 or 4 or at most 5 Maximum

Agree with your view on the hoops, I do however prefer the new away kit to that of last seasons.

Mac, where does it say "Stripes"

Andrew, I agree. Admittedly this top is better than last season's but far too many. More like rings that hoops.

The mock ups posted on this site some time last week were much better designs than the actuals.

awful kits the pair of them, how difficult is it? Fernandez said he was listening to the fans when we said what we wanted. Guess that came second to grabbing a couple of cheap Lotto Templates from other teams with bad kits. May as well buy last seasons' for £20 online

How do these new shirts actually get designed/chosen...

Do QPR go the makers and say we something along the lines of...

Or the makers come to QPR say this is what you can have?

If we (Ownership) had demanded three or four hoops could we have had them?

Prefer 4 decent size Hoops than 6 skinny ones! Away kits ok though.

Think he meant for the season after (2013/14), not very clear from the tweet though;

Quote:
I agree. Just no time. Next year. We have hoops for all 3 shirts. As long as other shareholders and phil mark agree which I'm sure they will. RT @Ross_Fretwell: RT @QPR_Stats: @tonyfernandes Consistent away kit and hoops (i.e. Dennis the Menace) helps build #QPR brand awareness globally.

As Tony said himself on Twitter, Lotto have a lead time of 8 months which means these kits were done ages ago, probably before he had received hundreds of tweets from fans about the kits.

Sorry not a big fan. What is that white line doing on the away shirt anyway? Like the AirAsia logo on the home shirt though.

Home kit is awful.

French onion seller bullshite.

Not a fan of the away kit either.

It's an ugly generic Lotto template.

TF has stated that a lead time of 8 months with Lotto meant that the kits were pretty much determined some time ago and seemingly to soon after his takeover for him to have had any real input into them.

That's why he's stating what the 2013-14 will be like already as it seems that when his preference for our kit will first be seen.

It was sort of like a 'don't blame me' for our latest crap and it will all be better soon!

They'll do for next season as we consolidate our place.

The important issue is the training ground and acedemy, let's not lose sight of that.

Forget the badge for a season as well.

When we challenge for the top places in the season after next we'll be wearing what we all like, patience my friends. ;D

Usually the folks who moan about the kits will buy them anyway and those who don't mind either way tend not to buy replica shirts.

Yes, still too many hoops but at least it will be different to Reading's as they have thicker hoops.

We just have to go with it now and wait for next season when we will hopefully have 3 or 4 thick hoops and a Den the Men away strip.

At least that ghastly mango nonsense has gone. Lord knows what they were trying to pull with that get up!

As mentioned on other threads, these were done weeks back, marshbowles10 is clearly an insider trader as he got the away kit right and realmorris' designs weren't far out were they! ;D

We're Premier League, I can suffer Lotto shyte for a while longer, it's got that logo on it. ;)
