Celtic boss Lennon warns Arsenal, QPR over Ki price
Submitted by tribalfootball.com on Sun, 08/19/2012 - 10:43
Celtic boss Neil Lennon insists Ki Sung-yueng won't leave on the cheap.

The £7million-rated midfielder is at the centre of a four-way fight for his signature with Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, QPR and Fulham all in the hunt.

Lennon warned: "If anyone wants him they will have to pay a good fee for him.

“I’ve had no contact with anyone – I don’t know if Peter Lawwell has – but it wouldn’t surprise me if there were a few clubs interested with his contract situation being as it is as well.

“I haven’t seen Ki in a month so I don’t know what he’s thinking.

“Hopefully when I see him, which hopefully will be on Sunday, he can let me know what he’s thinking.”

Honestly don't think so...as good as their result yesterday Swansea are on borrowed time in the EPL (we know that so do they). He'll go to us or Arsenal or stay at Celtic.

Oh, yes. It seems like Green needs competiton as well as confidence.

But I still hope he will do what "Erik the Orrible" did at Tottenham; come back stronger than ever after a somewhat troubled start at his new club.

What i really really don't understand, is Hugh's has surly known that we needed a class cb since he joined the club and also a top dm most of the fanbase knew this so why have the club not got them in.

We have donkeys in our defence and needs to be sent down to the knackers yard.

@TheSourceFooty (very good for info) said he was given two names last week, Bosingwa and Caulker.

Interesting to note Caulker wasn't in the squad for Spurs even though they are weak at CB

Buttner: I'm set to join United
Vitesse Arnhem left-back Alexander Buttner claims he is set to seal a "dream" move to Manchester United.

Last Updated: 19/08/12 at 19:27 Post Comment Premier League Winner 12/13 Win Outright: Manchester Utd 15/8

Buttner: Set for Man Utd move

Southampton, Fulham and QPR have all made bids for the 23-year-old - but now it appears he is on his way to Old Trafford in a shock move.

The defender, who was included in Holland's preliminary squad for Euro 2012, now appears to be closing on a move to link up with countryman Robin van Persie, with the deal reportedly worth five million euros (£3.9million).

Speaking to regional TV station Omroep Gelderland, Buttner admitted he was about to seal his "dream" move.

"This is really a dream come true," he said.

"It was all arranged very quickly and of course I am very delighted. Happily everything is coming to an end."

Buttner has been in dispute with Vitesse over his attempts to seal a move away from the club, and had even taken his case to the KNVB (Dutch FA) - but now he looks to have got his wish of a move away from the Gelredome.

United had long been linked with a new left-back with Everton's Leighton Baines believed to be Ferguson's top target - but now it seems Buttner is the man he wants to provide competition for Patrice Evra.

QPR: An eye on E.Capoue

Etienne Capua, the defensive midfielder from Toulouse, does not leave indifferent Queens Park Rangers. Tottenham and Arsenal are also on the trail of the French international.

Margin in negotiations with Kurt Zouma and Stephane Mbia, Queens Park Rangers are also looking at the case of Stephen Capua, the defensive midfielder from Toulouse, whose contract expires in June 2015. The French international was notably "Scout" against Saint-Etienne (2-1, 2nd day of Ligue 1) Saturday night.

Arsenal and Tottenham - which also eyeing Yann M'Vila Rennes - are also present. For its part, Sevilla has already sent an offer of five million, but the club president Olivier Sadran seller is not less than 10-15 M €.

QPR and does not let Zouma track Capua
10 THE SPORT | 18.08.12 | 21:15

As le10sport.com had revealed on August 10, the Queens' Park Rangers are back on the trail of the young central defender AS Saint-Etienne, Kurt Zouma. The London club has already approached the ASSE citing figures between 10 and 12 million euros for his transfer. For now, the club does not want Etienne. According to our information, an emissary of QPR assists tonight to meet ASSE Toulouse. The primary objective is to observe again Zouma. If it proves convincing, the English club could return to the charge with new figures.
At the same time, the emissary of QPR should take the opportunity to supervise as Etienne Capua. QPR also seeks a reinforcement defensive midfielder. Stéphane Mbia, as revealed by le10sport.com August 10, is a track. Etienne Capua, who also likes to London staff, is another.

Interesting. I went home today from the home-region of Etienne Capoue. I watched Toulouse-StEtienne yesterday. Both Kurt Zouma and Etienne Capoue conceded a penalty. Zouma had a very difficult game in St-Etienne's central defense while Capoue had quite an interesting game as defensive midfielder.

Capoue is a central defender, but his technical ability means he can be use in midfield. He's tall, powerfull and has great technique for a defender. He would be a MASSIVE signing. But I think he's out of our league as reports in France say Arsene Wenger is very interested in him, and Barcelona are quoted to be following him. He'd be the masterpiece if our defense, but he has played for Toulouse since he was a boy, so he won't leave easily.

Kurt Zouma is not the fix to our defensive problems at the moment. He'd be a long term replacement for Hill maybe. He'd be a good signing but he's quite far of the finished article, so considering our weakness at the back, I'd rather Capoue who's 24 years old and an acomplished defender than Zouma who is promising but not quite there yet.

By the way, Caulker would be a very good signing, but we've seen with Bassong last year, there's always complications when you make business with Tottenham.
