What am I missing? They seem to really hate us...a lot of their fans apparently saying they want their own team to lose to bolton next week just to see us go down...they tried 110% today and their fans were loving singing 2-0 to bolton....where/why did this all come about??
I am SO sure bolton will beat them (as are most bolton fans), they already beat em 5-0 this season!! So I think we are down, but I would like to think stoke will at least TRY and not play a weak team just to spite us.
And this isn't meant to sound negative, I sort of got used to the idea of us going down so it's not bothering me so much anymore, the championship is ok, its not the end of the world, and at least we've been winning a few games of late!! Could have been worse!!
But yeh the stoke thing I'm confused about so if anyone can shed light...or are we just universally hated these days for some reason lol.

Just a sample:
"Should we let Notlob win and send QPR and wanky Hughes down"
"Personally I would love to see the back of QPR and that fooker Hughes"
"We let Bolton win to send moneybags QPR back down."
"we should have done the job today and sent rangers down , at least we have the chance to make up for today next week"
"said it before, history may repeat itself and we lose to bolton and help them at QPR`s expenselike we did in 1993 and shafted the burslum bucket shaking beggars."
"Hope bolton beat us just to make all them rangers t***s there today look like idiots."
"we win by 4 and I'm happy, we get slaughtered and I'm happy because QPR are gone!"
WTF is going on lol

I think they feel that we will be better next year and well out of the relegation zone whereas Bolton may well be stuck in the bottom three

The moneybags schtick is pretty f**king rich considering the level of investment they've put in. Massive chip on their shoulder because most fans and the media take pot shots at their ugly, cynical playing style but have continued to stay pretty comfortable in the prem.

Started a few years back in the championship when we won 1-0 at there place with a few handbags outside afterwards. The main one was when bircham and adebola got into it with bircham winding the stoke fans up by taking an age to walk off the pitch, when subbed. Major fisticuffs outside afterwards as well.

Well lets assume they do hate us and want us relegated. We may not be able to change that but what we need is to give a massive incentive for Stoke to want to beat or not be beaten by Bolton. I suppose if a number of apparent "Bolton supporters" or others get onto the Stoke message boards taunting Stoke about how easy to win there, and how Bolton will thrash Stoke etc etc., then it might be possible to get Stoke fired up enough to get Stoke to take something from their last game. Nothing wrong or illegal in doing that. In a roundaboutway Man U's Ferguson is using similar tactics to get into our head's. All's fair in love and war. Remember : the key game for relegation issues will be at Stoke and not at Man City.

I would hope Stoke would want revenge after being beaten 5-0 by Bolton earlier this season.
I have got no issues with Stoke so cant understand the animosity they have but that's football fans for you. It's in Stoke's hands, so if they roll over and let Bolton win there's not much we can do. If only we had got a point somewhere away we would be ok on goal difference.

Really dislike Stoke after yesterday.
Singing racist songs about Anton Ferdinand before and during the game.

Let's hope stoke win or draw at least rory, you'd hate em a bit less then! Does anyone know if pulis and Coyle are good friends, or if pulis and Hughes are? It could all make a difference. The above views are obviously the fans, not their players or manager, just wondered if there's any special relationships that could influence how much stoke try, or not, next week.

To be honest, I think a lot of supporteRs don't like the way we tried to spend our way out of trouble. I kind of understand, but if the shoe was on the other foot then I am sure it would be fine for them.
I also think that maybe some teams feel threatened by another team spending the cash. Admittedly we haven't set the PL alight this year, but if we managed to stay up then we might make a good fist of it next year.

The jibes about spending are purely jealousy, not one of them would object if their club got an injection of large amounts of cash. I've even heard people say that Rangers "bought their way into the premiership" so there's obviously no problem with facts getting in the way of a good moan.
As for what the Stoke fans say, well it's a good job Bolton are not playing them on Sunday and the very idea that the manager & players would throw a game just to see us relegated is ridiculous to be frank.

Been there a few times, seemed to always kick off after. On one occassion, the police penned us in while they threw bottles at us, nice bunch. It was particularly explosive after Royce was attacked, nasty horrible bunch of fans, bit like the sheepshaggers and lootown to a degree.

I have only ever been to Stoke once in my entire life, around 1996. It was a business trip to sell some goods to several businesses. The first place I met a woman who was was fit as hell and flirting with me like mad. I love their accent up there. I also visited a place where they still did the potteries. After I finished my business meetings I did some shopping in the town before the long trip back to Essex, and found it not as bad a place as people warned me.
As for why Stoke fans hate us, it may be something in the past one of our players did to get us a win and got them either relegated or something. Fans have long memories. I can't see any other reason unless they just hate Londoners/southerners as a whole.
I will love Stoke forever and ever if they get a poisitve result against Bolton. Heck, next time I'm in the UK I'll take my American wife up there and both kiss the hallowed turf at the Britannia stadium

I actually think they would love to beat Bolton & send them down!!! They have alot of nasty fans & players that would see that as job done to be honest!!!! Then they could boast that there win cost a club a place in the Prem!!!...........Not much boast if there loss was to the same to a club as they would been seen in even a darker light than they already are!!
