The news of the departure of Lawrie Sanchez, was released by the club this afternoon. The former Northern Ireland and Fulham boss, who was officially appointed as The Bees' Manager at the beginning of the 2011-2012 season, leaves the club lying in 22nd place in Npower League 2, just 3 points above the bottom 2 clubs, Macclesfield and Hereford, with 3 games remaining.
The club has appointed Allen to oversee first team affairs for the remaining 3 games of the 2011-2012 season. In addition, Paul Fairclough, the England C team international manager who led Barnet out of the Conference in style, will head up the footballing side of the business. Martin Allen will report to Paul Fairclough moving forwards.
Speaking of the dual appointment, Barnet FC Chairman, Tony Kleanthous said, "I've put personal matters aside in order to make the best decision I can make, to try and preserve our status in the Football League."
