well we certainly havent been linked to any midfielders recently, just strikers and defenders, so i guess this suggests we wont be looking to buy in any midfielders, or am i reading too much in to it?

He's a defender JJ, we will bring a midfielder in. thats what I thought but the article says midfielder? So maybe thats proof the alex deal has fallen through then, must be a reason for it either way??

Another possibility is that his loan has a "must play" clause which Johnson has tried to negotiate out of and QPR have said if you wont play him we'll recall him. As good as Ehmer might be (on day) he won't be getting a game ahead of Ferdinand, Gabbidon, Hall, Connolly, Ramage & Shittu

Well Gabs is a doubt for Saturday so maybe he needs cover and doesn't trust one size and conners?

Is he possibly worth seven and six? in which case he is worth more than what we currently have to offer.

Im sure he's more of a cdm but he's played at cb the whole time he was on loan. Maybe hughes is just covering his back for saturday as other than derry and barton none of the rest of our midfielders are able to fill a standard central midfeild role

My brother is a season ticket holder at Yeovil and I have seen Max a couple of times. Has done a decent job in that league but I do not think it will come together for him in the Premiership. Still he has overcome any stigma attached to his Dad putting money into the club and proved he is a decent player with a career ahead of him but a lack of mobility means that is more likely at League 1 level IMO.

Apparently he left due to him getting fidgety with the change in personnel at the Rs: www.ciderspace.co.uk/ASP/news/news.asp?NewsItemId=16476Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson has said that he felt he felt that defender Max Ehmer had to return to Queens Park Rangers, to give him the right to challenge for a place in their first team squad. The West London side have recently appointed Mark Hughes as their new manager, giving a new opportunity for the 19 year old to put himself into the new man's plans. With the January transfer window open, and Premier League sides currently juggling their registered first team squads, Johnson told BBC Somerset that he felt there was a danger of Ehmer becoming unsettled if he was not given the chance to return to Loftus Road and given the chance to impress Hughes: "Players get a bit fidgety when they're on loan, and a new manager comes into the (parent) football club, because you feel that you're being lost and you won't get an early chance to impress. I always felt that's what might happen anyway with him, and of course when Mark Hughes went there, it was the right thing to do; to let Max go back and train, and play in front of his new manager." Max left a farewell message on his Twitter account tonight, after his return was formalised, saying: "Just want to say thank you to everyone at Yeovil. Have had a great year there and just hope they do well in the final bit of the season. All the players, fans and staff at Yeovil are great and I want them to finish the season off well. Thanks for all your comments - there are too many to reply to, but I've read them all and appreciate them all! Thanks beautiful people."

Maybe Hughes can convert him from a not so great (at least Yet) defender ...to a brilliant center forward!
Seriously, I think it's a good move by/for Ehmer...He only has once chance at the Premiership...Why not try and convince the new manager, he's at least a prospect.
