A three-goal blitz in the space of seven minutes set up QPR for a victory at Chesterfield.
After an uninspiring opening period Rangers produced a second-half goal flurry that keeps their play-off hopes alive after going a goal behind.
Chesterfield had taken a 60th-minute lead after David Reeves scored a penalty but his strike was cancelled out five minutes later by an Andy Thomson spot kick.
Four minutes later Danny shiteeetu had headed Rangers in front before Matthew Rose put away the third in the 71st minute.
Kevin Gallen was denied by Nathan Abbey, but Jon Howard put Chesterfield back in it with a 25-yard strike 11 minutes from time.
Rangers had to play out the last six minutes with 10 men after shiteeetu was sent-off for a second yellow card, but despite fierce pressure Chesterfield could not find an equalizer.

QPR claimed all three points this afternoon courtesy of an action-packed 3-2 victory at Chesterfield this afternoon. All the goals came in a crazy second half which saw the home side take the lead, before Rangers bounced back in style with three goals in seven minutes. Ian Holloways' team then withstood a nerve wracking last quarter of an hour which saw Chesterfield pull one back and Danny shiteeetu sent off for a second bookable offence.
Rangers initially lined up in a 3-5-2 formation, with Gavin Peacock and Aziz Ben Askar returning and Danny Murphy making his first start, and it was the visitors who made the brighter start forcing two early corners. But the first clearcut chance of the afternoon fell to Chesterfield in the 13th minute when Fraser Digby needed to be alert to turn Sean Parrish's sharp strike behind.
Ian Holloway was then forced to make a change in the 28th minute, bringing on Doudou following an injury to Karl Connolly. But it was another 10 minutes fore Rangers enjoyed their first shot on goal when Kevin Gallen raced in to the area and saw his low drive parried by Nathan Abbey. A minute later, Gallen was in the thick of it again, turning sharply after good work from Doudou and curling his shot just the wrong side of Abbey's left hand upright.
Chesterfield then almost took the lead themselves when D'Auria's low cross was mishiteee by debutant Glynn Hurst from only five yards out but otherwise defences were on top in an opening period that only sporadically threatened to burst in to life.
Nevertheless Chesterfield moved up a gear after the break and started the second period well, with David D'Auria's spectacular volley drifting just wide in the 48th minute. The home side also forced four corners in quick succession as Rangers came under the most sustained pressure of the game so far right after the break.
But Rangers appeared to have weathered the storm when on the hour mark they went a goal down. The ball struck Danny Murphy's hand inside the area and referee Webster had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. David Reeves confidently despatched the penalty to give the home side a lead their early second half pressure probably merited.
Yet within five minutes Rangers were back on terms thanks to a penalt of their own. Kevin Gallen danced past one defender before being brought down by Steve Payne just as he prepared to shoot. Andy Thomson calmy slotted home the spot kick in front of 1000 travelling supporters to level the scores.
Suddenly it was the home side looking nervous and Rangers took full advantage sending the Rangers faithful in to raptures with two further goals in two minutes to establish a commanding lead.
First Danny shiteeetu powered in an unstoppable header from Murphy's corner to make it 2-1 and with the Chesterfield defence at sixes and sevens Matthew Rose made it three soon after. Doudou sprinted down the left flank, played a delightful ball in side to Gallen who raced in on goal, only to see his shot parried by Abbey. But Rose was following up and he blasted his shot high in to the net to double Rangers' lead. A breathtaking period of play which brought three Rangers goals in only seven minutes.
But that wasn't the end of the drama and with 12 minutes remaining Jon Howard brought the home side back in to the game with an outstanding strike. Breaking from the halfway line he unleashed a powerful curling strike just inside Fraser Digby's right hand post.
Rangers were then put under further pressure when Danny shiteeetu was sent off for a second bookable offence. The foul which brought him his second yellow was utterly inocuous, but in front of a passionate home crowd, the referee saw things very differently.
Chesterfield piled on the pressure in an almost unbearably nervous last 10 minutes but Rangers held out for a dramaic and important win.
