I'm absolutely stunned at some of the comments (and in some cases vitriole) being aimed at Warnock in this thread. Did I fall asleep and we're suddenly bottom of the table? We're into December and we're 13th, to say we can't get more than a point against Sunderland, Norwich and Swansea is quite ridiculous. Yes, Swansea & Norwich got good results today but they've had their poor performances this season and will have many more.

As for trotting out the same excuses regarding what Warnock had to work with at the start of the season, well it's true. The other clubs were able to buy and plan from the moment promotion was acheived, Warnock had to do it all after the new season had started! Saying that people are trotting out the same old excuses doesn't make them any less valid, just seems a way to avoid acknowledging them.

As for SWP, he will come good I'm sure. I've seen him put some very good crosses in this season, it just seems that some have bought into the "SWP can't cross" ethos and don't seem to be able to remember them. He scored an excellent goal last week, not his fault the linesman had a nervous twitch in his flag raising arm.

Post of the week!! Agree with every single word.

SWP did OK for us today, but if you want my honest opinion, then having a winger that cant cross is about as useful as a hole in the head, probably a little bit unfair on SWP, Traore is a slightly more progressive player IMO & he can cross, tactics were a little strange today, but not entirely unsuccessful, a limited performance & not too much to get excited about, dunno why people are going OTT

I make you right klr its hard for him to cross when his position on the wing(his wing) is nailed down by a Cart Horse with a banger up his arse.. ;)

and here..

clearly not fit...hasn't trained with 1st team yet according to Warnock but no doubt having him on meant we got more joy against them as they had to play his pace

Just looked through the whole of this thread & was very surprised!

I missed the first 40 minutes so I will make no comment on that period & from what I saw Liverpool deserved to win. However, the goal was offside (I thought so at the time & watching the clip confirmed this- second angle they showed) & it was technically a penalty for the kick to Faurlin's stomach. Radek Cerny was a very big positive today.

My three negatives:-

1 Who can partner Gabbidon in the next few matches?
2 Why do we always take 5 minutes at the start of the second half to concerntrate?
3 Why are we toothless without Helguson?

I'm still very confident that we will be all right & expect to finish above Norwich & Swansea.

Some good points here lads, unfortunately missed the game this week due to work commitments, but it just goes to show how difficult this league really is,and how fickle WE ALL ARE as football fans.
There is one painful truth in my opinion though, to survive in this league those drawn games against the likes of Norwich and W.B.A. should have been won,it does not matter how you play, survival is the key. Drawn games against that standard of opposition are no good. especially in your first year back after a long time out of the top flight.Really pleased for Cerny,he needs all the support he can get with the games coming up. :-*

Cheers,

Jay

Something that Jason Roberts said last night on BBC 606 really caught my attention. He was talking to a Norwich fan who had phoned in and he said most promoted teams are excited and get really good results in the first half of the season but can't keep it up in the second half, just like Blackpool last season. If you compare the squads of all the promoted teams, Norwich and Swansea still have mostly players that were playing in the Championship last season whereas we have a lot of Prem experience in the team. Our players like Ferdinand, Young, Gabbidon, SWP and Barton know all about this league and they also know how to keep up performances throughout the whole season.

I have a good feeling that those players experience will keep us up. I think Norwich and Swansea will start to fade away and we will keep getting points.
