Heres one I didn see. Last year Ferdinand and Wegerle played together. Matches Ive seen we go nothing but always close scores. Found Scousers very pleasant. Rush and Beardsley together,,wow.
Our team had such skills in those days until one by one they were sold off.

Liverpool FC jury: Reds fans assess the frustrating game at Fulham and preview QPR
DAMIAN KAVANAGH, SkelmersdaleIT is fair to say that we can feel unlucky about defeat at Fulham. It was a decent away performance and the decisions to disallow Suarez's goal and not give a penalty for the foul on Charlie Adam could have gone the other way. I felt sorry for Jay Spearing because he is a wholehearted lad but he gave the referee an opportunity to send him off. Its harsh but that's the way the laws of the game are interpretted these days. I'm not sure it was the right decision to start with Andy Carroll. Bellamy has played his way into the starting line-up so surely Maxi's recent excellent goal-scoring form should have counted for something too? The fine line stopping us from winning more games seems to be how often he hit the woodwork, if we had gone a goal up then surely we would have clinched the three points. Jordan Henderson seems much more comfortable playing through the middle and hopefully he will take his chance in the absence of Lucas. QPR on Saturday is a must-win game. We are playing catch up in the race for the Champions League places but there have been some good signs in our play and if we can just be a little more clinical with our chances then we can be well placed by New Year. JOHN CRUCES, Kirkby IT’S disappointing to lose any game, more so when records are on the line. Some will focus on the red card and while I personally don’t think it was a red, I don’t see why he had to go to ground in the first place. He was ‘ahead’ of the player and the ball had already been won. Regardless, we had been on top of what actually was a good end-to-end game. Again it comes down to not converting chances which in my eyes has been our biggest problem this season. For some reason we’ve had a poor return of points against lower clubs at home this season, even though in the main we’ve been on top. Hopefully we can start to right that on Saturday against QPR and get one over a certain Neil Warnock who has been far too vocal about us over the years. I’m sure I won’t be in the minority by hoping the battering someone is due will be against his side, nothing against QPR mind – just him www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-fc/liverpool-fc-columnists/2011/12/08/liverpool-fc-jury-reds-assess-the-frustrating-game-at-fulham-and-preview-qpr-100252-29917236/

Liverpool vs. QPR: Complete Preview, Live Stream, Start Time and Schedule
Liverpool will welcome Queens Park Rangers to Anfield on Saturday as they look to rebound in English Premier League play.
The Reds were dropped by Fulham at Craven Cottage, 1-0, in their last league fixture and must get back on their feet before the other big-money clubs in London and Manchester stake out too strong of a claim to the top of the table.
QPR, meanwhile, will look to continue its surprising rise through the middle of the EPL with another win away from Loftus Road.
Where: Anfield, Liverpool, England. 3PM UK
When: Saturday, December 10th at 10:00 a.m. EST
Watch: Fox Soccer Plus, ESPN HD Brasil, ESPN DOS, ESPN +, ESPN + Andina, Abu Dhabi Sports, SuperSport 5, Sport TV4, J Sports 3, SuperSport 5 Nigeria, SuperSport5 Africa
Live Stream: FoxSoccer.tv, SuperSport Internet 5
Player to Watch for Liverpool: Luis Suarez
Luisito has cooled off a bit since his fearless start to the season. The Reds, overall, have struggled to put the ball through the net of late, averaging 1.4 goals per contest over their last nine EPL fixtures. QPR should give Suarez every chance to get on the board, and Liverpool will certainly need him to if they're to right the ship sooner rather than later.
Player to Watch for QPR: Heidar Helguson
Heidar Helguson has been something of a revelation for QPR during the 2011-12 campaign. Helguson has notched six goals for the Hoops in their first season back in the top level of English football, doing so for a side that's managed just 15 scores in 14 matches thus far.
A goal against Liverpool's stingy defence would do wonders to boost the aging Icelandic striker's profile while giving QPR a fighting chance to be the second lower-tier club in the span of a week to upend the Reds.
Key Matchup: Helguson vs. Liverpool's back line
As mentioned a few lines above, Helguson holds the key to QPR's hopes of coming away with points against Liverpool. The Reds may be anything but a scoring machine, but they can certainly lock down their opponents in front of Pepe Reina.
So long as Liverpool's slow central defense can choke off the even slower combination of Helguson and Joey Barton, they should be able to earn another three points to hold steady in the top tier.
What They're Saying:
Liverpool's disgust over the treatment of Luis Suarez by the Football Association grew this week. The FA charged Suarez with making an obscene gesture to fans at Craven Cottage during the Reds' 1-0 loss to Fulham on Monday.
Meanwhile, the FA lobbied on behalf of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney to have his three-game UEFA ban reduced to two in time for England's run at Euro 2012.
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish wasn't shy in his criticism of the powers-that-be in English football:
"I find it a bit strange the FA are supposed to be setting an example for things yet they appeal against Wayne Rooney's three-match ban. I don't think that's a good example to set...The fact it has taken nine weeks to get a decision on one of the other charges is a bit of a joke as well. Much longer and he might get a testimonial.''
Perhaps this ongoing controversy can help to explain Luisito's recent "struggles"...or maybe it has more to do with mediocre play in the midfield. Either way, these distractions can only hurt Liverpool as they seek to return to the top four in the EPL.
Prediction: Liverpool 1, QPR 0
The Reds are hardly Manchester City on the attack, but they don't (and won't) need to be top notch to get three points at QPR's expense. Just let Luisito fiddle with the ball for a half-hour or so and the Kop will be rocking once again

Have to say for me: ANFIELD is THE place - even more than Old Trafford, or any other ground in the country. Forget if Liverpool are not quite the Liverpool from the early 1960s to the late 1980s. Anfield still is THE place, where to win - or get a point - is the pinnacle of accomplishment/satisfaction

The day we stormed Anfield: QPR and Liverpool old boys remember shock Hoops win By Jack Davidson and Dominic King Twenty years ago, struggling Queens Park Rangers travelled to champions Liverpool needing a win to move away from the relegation zone they were hovering above. They had never won at Anfield but pulled off a huge shock which saved their season and ruined Liverpool's. The champions went on to lose to Southampton, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest before the end of the season and surrendered their title to Arsenal. QPR return there on Saturday having not won since at Anfield. Jack Davidson and Dominic King spoke to some of the protagonists from the unlikeliest of victories. VIDEO: Liverpool 1 Queens Park Rangers 3, March 1991 QPR DEFENDER DANNY MADDIX 'We had a great squad in those days who could mix it with the best of them, so we were confident. I remember when we saw the team sheet and John Barnes wasn't playing, that gave everyone a boost. 'Don Howe told me before the game to do a job on Rushy, to make his life difficult. I always seemed to do well against him and it paid off, he hardly got a sniff at goal all game. 'There was a feeling with the big clubs, especially Liverpool, that they'd get the decisions, so of course all the lads were over the moon when we came away with three goals and the win. 'The highlight was Clive Wilson's goal. Liverpool had pulled one back and were pushing for an equaliser when Clive came on. Les Ferdinand rifled in a cross which missed everyone, it came off one of their players and Clive nipped in to slot the ball with his first touch of the game. From then on we always called him 'One-Touch Wilson'. QPR DEFENDER ANDY TILLSON 'I wasn't really worried about playing them because I was full of the confidence of youth. I was shoulder-to-shoulder with Rush and Beardsley in the box and I remember Ray Wilkins, who was the most experienced of us, coming over to me and shouting "Be careful – don't give 'em a chance". 'And in the second half that's exactly what happened: we conceded a penalty and were only 2-1 up, so it was a bit tight. Then Wilson came on and scored with his first kick of the ball and I remember Ray Wilkins doing a little celebratory dance on the touchline as if to say "game over". 'The thing which has always stayed with me was the reaction of the Liverpool fans after the game. To a man they stood up and clapped us off - that's what football meant at Anfield, they appreciated the way we'd played, even though we'd won. It was the same with the players, they were all in the bar afterwards laughing and congratulating us, there were no bad feelings at all. 'When we finally got back to Loftus Road there was a whole group of fans waiting for us, I'd never seen that before, and it brought home to me what we'd achieved.' QPR MIDFIELDER SIMON BARKER 'We had a strong side at the time, top quality players like David Bardsley, Andy Sinton and Les Ferdinand. Bobby Gould had brought in Andy Tillson, Rufus Brevett and Darren Peacock, so we had the confidence to play our football with the best of them. And Jan Stejskal was a brilliant keeper - he was one of only nine foreign players in the top division, which goes to show how much things have changed. Unlikely hero: Clive Wilson (centre) celebrates his goal at Anfield Unlikely hero: Clive Wilson (centre) celebrates his goal at Anfield 'Anfield was my favourite away ground because of all that history and the fans were football purists. When the supporters sang "Walk On" it made the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. 'We were well prepared, the lads were all really fit, Don had recently introduced sports psychologists and nutritionists to the club and that made a huge difference. I think we took the win for granted then, no one thought that twenty years on that would be the last time we beat Liverpool away. QPR MIDFIELDER CLIVE WILSON 'It was my first season since leaving Chelsea and it hadn't been a spectacular one. I was in and out of the team and hadn't started a game in a while. When we were 2-0 up I didn't think I'd get on the pitch, but then they pulled one back with a dodgy penalty and Don wanted to hold on for the win so I guess he brought me on to sure up the defence. 'It must have been scripted because the next thing I know I'm tearing up-field chasing a counter-attack and Les has put in a cross which just skimmed off Ray Wilkins on account of him not having any hair. I just stabbed a foot at the ball and it was in the back of the net. 'I was in shock. When the final whistle blew it really hit me, an overwhelming disbelief.' LIVERPOOL STRIKER IAN RUSH 'QPR had a decent side back then but, even still, losing to them in the manner that we did was a shock. 'Danny was probably right that I never got a kick. Being man-marked was something that used to happen to me all the time against QPR. I was used to it from playing in Italy. It wasn't my idea of how you play football but, full credit to Danny, he did his job well. 'We had been on a good run going into the game and, as we were defending champions, we were expected to beat those teams at Anfield before moving on but it never worked out that way. 'It was a funny end to the season. We all assumed after Kenny (Dalglish) had left six weeks earlier that Ronnie Moran would get the manager's job and things would carry on as normal. But Ronnie never wanted the job and we were missing Kenny's presence in the dugout at that time more than we realised. That defeat was the sign that our title was slipping away from us. LIVERPOOL DEFENDER GARY GILLESPIE 'The week before we played QPR, we had gone to the Baseball Ground and battered a Derby County side that contained Mark Wright and Dean Saunders 7-1. We felt we were right at the top of our game, we were full of confidence and we certainly did not expect to lose at home to QPR. Perhaps complacency played a part. The main thing I remember about the game was Les Ferdinand's performance. He was always a handful and had all the attributes to be a top striker – he was strong, quick, skilful and good in the air. You could see he was destined for great things. WHERE ARE THEY NOW? LIVERPOOL

I remember seeing us v Liverpool when Dagleish was their main man.The score was either 1.0 to us or 1.1 .They were really pressing hard at the end (for equalizer or winner depending) and there was a big goal mouth scramble.King Kenny managed to backheel the ball over the bar from about 3 feet out.Blinding, ;D it looked impossible to do. Anyone else remember this?
