But to emphasize these were overwhelmingly media gossip posts. Not "ITK" receiving club leaks...or people who for whatever reason make up stuff.

West London Sport 02/02/2012 by Matt Barrett Watford want to re-sign Tommy Smith, reports the Daily Express.
The Hornets are looking to replace Marvin Sordell, who moved to Bolton on deadline day, and are believed to be keen to capture forward Smith from QPR.
On his way back to Watford? A loan move back to Vicarage Road would mean a third spell at Watford for Smith, who faces stiff competition for a first-team place at Rangers.
The South Wales Echo reveal that Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay – formerly of Watford – is also interested in Smith and remains keen on Jamie Mackie. http://www.westlondonsport.com/features-....watford-return/

WATFORD TARGET QPR'S TOMMY SMITH AS MARVIN SORDELL REPLACEMENT
Watford boss Sean Dyche will look to secure a loan deal for QPR striker Tommy Smith
Thursday February 2,2012 By Daily Express Reporter Have your say(0) WATFORD will move to replace Marvin Sordell by signing QPR striker Tommy Smith – for a third time. After losing Sordell to Bolton on the final day of the transfer window, Hornets boss Sean Dyche will look to secure a loan deal for Smith, who began his career at Vicarage Road and also played there from 2006 to 2009.

SOUTH WALES ECHO
Malky Mackay set for loan raid on QPR by Steve Tucker,
AFTER January transfer window frustration, Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay is looking to move in next week’s loan market.
The Bluebirds’ boss is still on the hunt for a striker and wideman and could well take another shot at two targets from last month in QPR’s Jamie Mackie and Tommy Smith.
The Bluebirds made enquiries about both men on permanent deals, but will now return to the West London club with a loan deal in mind.
QPR were the busiest Premier League side in the transfer window bringing in a host of players including a clutch of striking talent.
Djibril Cisse arrived from Lazio for £4m and Bobby Zamora from Fulham for £6m to give Rangers boss Mark Hughes plenty of attacking options.
With Premier League clubs poised to announce their 25-man squads for the rest of the season, Mackie and Smith could find themselves surplus to requirements at Loftus Road.
If so, it looks likely Mackay will be in the hunt to try to bring at least one to the Welsh capital.
The Cardiff manager (pictured) does have financial muscle behind him from the club’s Malaysian backers as he looks to reach the top flight.
The Bluebirds saw a £3m bid for striker Marvin Sordell at Mackay’s former club Watford accepted before they were gazumped by Premier League Bolton.
A £1.2m offer for winger Craig Noone was also rejected by Championship rivals Brighton.
Some of that money now looks set to be ploughed into a budget for loan players with Mackay praising the club’s board and confirming his involvement in the loan market.
“A lot of work was put in and if one of our transfer targets had come in it would have been very good,” said Mackay. “But when you look at the amount of financial backing put in by our Malaysian owners I can only thank them.
“It wasn’t for a lack of effort or financial support that we didn’t bolster our squad. We hit the post twice, so to speak and we will move again when the loan window opens on February 7.
“I was incredibly well supported and backed. It was frustrating,”
n LEEDS manager Simon Grayson has been sacked after just over three years in charge.
Grayson, 42, who replaced Gary McAllister as manager of his boyhood club in December 2008, has come under increasing pressure in recent weeks as Leeds have fallen out of the top six in the npower Championship.
A heavy 4-1 home defeat to Birmingham on Tuesday night appears to have been the final straw for chairman Ken Bates, who is now in the hunt for his fifth Leeds manager during his seven years at the club.
Chief executive Shaun Harvey said: “We have 18 games to go this season and are still within touching distance of the play-offs, but felt with the transfer window now closed we needed to make the change at this time.
“Simon and his staff have given the club over three good years service and we would like to place on record our thanks and wish them all the best.
“Youth team manager Neil Redfearn has been asked to take temporary charge of the first team until a new manager is available.”
Former QPR boss Neil Warnock has already emerged as the favourite to land the post.

Smith saved our draw yesterday, clearing the line on one occasion when we were under bombardment that seemed like Custers last stand, with Paddy Kenny as Custer. I will be unhappy if Smith goes.

They tore up Ryan Nelsens contract although he has had a long term injury and let him go to Spuds so perhaps this undisclosed payment for Brad Orr is waiting to be finalised!
I did bang my head this morning so perhaps I am deluding myself.

No way back for Samba at Blackburn Published 17:54 02/02/12 By MirrorFootball
. Blackburn captain Christopher Samba is fit and available but will not be in the squad for Saturday's trip to Arsenal, Rovers boss Steve Kean said today.
The defender has not played since handing in a transfer request last month, which was rejected, and Kean said after last night's 2-0 defeat by Newcastle he did not feel Samba had been in the right frame of mind to return to the side.
The manager had stated his intention to sit down with his skipper today and was hopeful they could put the matter behind them, but at a press conference this afternoon the media were told questions about Samba were off limits.
Kean said: "I'm prepared to say he's fit and he's available but he's not in the squad for the Arsenal game.
"I'd rather speak about people who are available to play against Arsenal. Chris has trained well today but he's not going to be in this squad."
Samba is a huge figure for Blackburn both in defence and attack and Kean's reluctance to discuss the situation is sure to cast more doubt on the centre-back's future at the club.
Samba's long-time defensive partner Ryan Nelsen was allowed to leave Ewood Park after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent and this morning he joined Tottenham on a short-term deal.
Spurs assistant manager Kevin Bond revealed Nelsen would go straight into the squad for Monday's meeting with Liverpool, despite playing only one Premier League game this season because of knee trouble.
Rovers had expected Nelsen to go to Major League Soccer in the US before Tottenham's last-minute interest changed his mind, and Blackburn fans are sure to question his release if he does go on to play a part for Spurs this season.
Kean said: "He was having a lot of problems with his knee. Right at the last minute he got the call (from Tottenham) and he's decided to go with it.
"We understand the pain he was in and I hope their medics can look at it and get him back on the pitch because he's found it difficult. He's only played one game in eight months

It's between us, Bolton, Wigan, and Wolves. Hopefully Arsenal can do us a favour.
Well that and since they started throwing money around. Their biggest weakness was the lack of a striker and they've overpaid for two. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Objective opinion by by others deeper in the s**t than us who clearly think that we aint in it any more. Heartening!!

Blackburn new boy Orr: QPR begged me to stay Published 21:59 03/02/12 By MirrorFootball Recommend . Bradley Orr snubbed Mark Hughes’ plea to be part of his QPR revolution by joining Blackburn’s relegation battle.
The right-back, 29, headed north on deadline day having grown fed up of waiting in the wings at Loftus Road.
That was despite new Rangers boss Sparky’s best attempts to sweet-talk him into staying in west London.
Orr was a mainstay of the Hoops side which won promotion to the Premier League last season, but has been marginalised this term.
Now he is geared up for a survival scrap with Rovers – starting with Saturday's lunch-time kick-off at Arsenal.
He said: “Mark Hughes was brilliant and told me that he wanted me to stay. He tried to get me to stay at least until the end of the season as he felt I could play a big part under him.
“But my mind was made up once Blackburn were interested. I’ve missed the buzz of 3pm on a Saturday and establishing myself at Rovers really excites me.” http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Bla....icle860947.html
