EXCLUSIVE: Samba owes us money claim Blackburn Published 22:32 16/01/12 By Alan Nixon . Blackburn have reacted furiously to a transfer request from £15million-rated defender Chris Samba - by asking for money back from the player. The in-demand centre-half asked for a move on Monday, putting QPR and Tottenham on red alert to compete for his signature. But angry Rovers will make his exit difficult. The club's owners, Venky's, are fuming over Samba’s behaviour - for the third transfer window running since they took over - and want a big price for him - plus a return on a ‘loan’ he was given. Samba signed a long-term contract a year ago and was given a salary of more than £60,000-a-week. The Congolese defender also got a sizeable six-figure lump sum to help him build an extension on his house. Rovers' India-based heirarchy are unhappy that the 27-year-old has criticised them for ‘broken promises’ and will not budge on the fee after turning down two opening bids from new QPR manager Mark Hughes. The west London club - and title-chasing Spurs - would both pay Samba a similar wage. However, Blackburn's valuation has already put off Tottenham, leaving Rovers' relegation-battle rivals QPR as ‘favourites’ to land them. But Blackburn are demanding a fee that will stretch them too - and will also want payback from Samba - as the affair threatens to become as complicated as it is ugly. Samba revealed his desire to quit Ewood Park, saying: “I have officially requested a transfer from Blackburn. I have personally informed the owners, manager and executives at the club that I want to leave in this transfer window. “In my five years at Blackburn Rovers I have always given 100 per cent in every game. I have had several opportunities to leave but I have always stayed. “I have decided now is the right time for me to pursue a new challenge and I have asked the club to respect my decision and allow me to leave. “I thank the fans for their support and I hope they feel I have served them and their club well.” www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Blackburn-transfer-gossip-Club-demand-wantaway-Chris-Samba-repays-them-six-figure-loan-article854533.html

If that's how it is then don't bother and focus on Alex and Onouha.

60k a week at Blackburn? kin ell,we`ll have to pay him the same as Barton, plus the transfer fee. Is he really worth that much? cahill would have been cheaper, and he doesnt take 2 months off to go to african nations.

Rumours doing the rounds on Twitter that Arsenal have agreed a £7.8m fee with Blackburn for Samba.

Can't believe Venky's will cut off their nose to spite their face. They are in a relegation battle and have a captain who doesn't want to be there. With £7.5 mil they can buy in replacements and still pocket a tidy sum. With nothing and a disgruntled captain they are doomed!!

Sparky fixes a Hen party By SHAUN CUSTIS Published: 17 Jan 2012 Add a comment BRAZILIAN star Henrique last night insisted: I am on my way to QPR. The 20-year-old striker has agreed a move to Loftus Road on an initial 18-month loan deal. There will then be a £5million option for new Rangers boss Mark Hughes to buy the talented youngster from Sao Paulo. The Londoners still have to obtain a work permit for Henrique. But provided they are successful, his signing will represent a major coup for Sparky. Henrique was voted the Player of the Tournament at last summer's Under-20 World Cup in Colombia. And he told SunSport: "I know a lot of clubs are interested in me. But when I spoke to Mark Hughes and QPR, they made me feel very excited about their plans. "I want to go to a club with ambition and to play in London would be a fantastic opportunity. "The manager is known everywhere. He played for great clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona. "As a striker, I know I can learn so much from him. I've always wanted to play in Europe and, for me, England has the most exciting league in the world." www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4065288/Transfer-news-Henrique-on-his-way-to-QPR.html?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed

Brazilian striker Henrique has said he is desperate to complete his proposed move to QPR. Rangers are trying to thrash out an agreement for the 20-year-old Sao Paulo player, who is likely to move on an initial loan deal - if he obtains a work permit. Hughes has impressed Henrique. His signing would be a coup for new R’s boss Mark Hughes, as Henrique has attracted interest from numerous European clubs since starring in last year’s Under-20 World Cup. “I know a lot of clubs are interested in me. But when I spoke to Mark Hughes and QPR, they made me feel very excited about their plans,” Henrique told The Sun. “I want to go to a club with ambition and to play in London would be a fantastic opportunity. “The manager is known everywhere. He played for great clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona. “As a striker, I know I can learn so much from him. I’ve always wanted to play in Europe, and England has the most exciting league in the world.” www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/striker-henrique-keen-to-join-qpr/?

How long does it take to get a UK work permit (for such a 'public' job)?

At long last sounds like at least the Henrique deal is materialising! Excited to see how he settles in (assuming he gets the work permit)

Be good to see Alex sign today and Samba in before Saturday.
Make it so.
Oh, sort out that work permit for Henrique as well please.
Just a good midfielder and a striker to go, thanks.

I wouldn't get your hopes up with Samba. I know Venky's desperately need the money to pay of debts but they seem very resolved to keep him. Also SSN reported some Man City interest.

Well Alex and Onouha would be good business this window for defence and Traore to come back ! If Samba comes he comes , 8 million is a lot to spend on one defender . Need a midfielder sharpish , dont think we will get a midfielder in until we play Villa .

To be honest with you, at this point I'd forget about Samba and spend the money on Onouha instead.
Alex and Onouha would see us right. Then get a mid on loan like Huddlesone and see if Santa Cruz can be picked up too.

I assume no one has seen Alex, Samba or Onouha loitering outside Loftus Road this morning?

Think Onouha will come but Mancini wont let him go until After 25th Jan , thats when Kompany has served his ban , think he has to sit out Spurs Sunday and the Semi final second leg next weds then hes clear to play . Dont expect that one to happen until next week , think Wolves are interested aswell but Hughes should be the holding factor .

Apparently we're after zamora again... ...as for samba, £8m for 1 defender is a lot, I know 1 player doesn't make a team but blackburn have been bottom or thereabouts all season and they have samba, robinson (who we were also linked to) and scott dann who is meant to be a quality defender, so not sure us getting samba will suddenly make us stop leaking goals, though it couldnt do any harm either!...i too would go for onouha and alex over just getting samba. though all 3 would be nice too

So all's quiet on the transfer front. Well except for a Brazilian who wants to come to England, work permit permitting.
Time to go out and kidnap someone off the street and put them into a Hoops jersey I think!!
