Hope for cookie's sake this helps him kickstart his carear the only thing that concerns me is how come all our surplus players that are going out seem to be dropping into league 1 or lower. Surely rowly cook and hogan are championship level so why can't we place them at a better club im sure it would help both the player and the club

i think hogan chose charlton because he knew some staff there, he certainly would of had a pick of a host of championship clubs, its why he took so long to decide.

Orient Official Site O's Complete Cook Loan ORIENT have beaten the loan deadline to bring Queens Park Rangers midfielder Lee Cook to Brisbane Road. The 29-year-old wideman signed on a one-month loan deal on Thursday to cover for the injured Dean Cox and will go straight into Russell Slade's squad for Saturday's trip to Sheffield Wednesday. Cook, a Hammersmith-born midfielder, cost QPR close to £1 million when they bought him back from Fulham in January 2009, but he has been restricted to one Carling Cup appearance this term since the R's promotion to the Premier League. Cook began his career in non-league with Aylesbury United before being snapped up by Watford in 1999. Five years at Vicarage Road followed, before he joined boyhood club QPR for the first time at the start of the 2004/05 season. He played 126 games for the Loftus Road club in his first permanent spell there and moved to Fulham for £2.5 million in 2007. However, he didn't appear in first team colours for the Cottagers and returned to QPR, following a loan with the R's, in the winter of 2009. He will remain at Brisbane Road until December 21 and will wear the number 21 shirt during his time with the O's. www.leytonorient.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10439~2525988,00.html

I'd have liked to have seen Cook and Rowlands play a couple of EPL games just for the personal satisfaction.

Both had their time, thanks for the service but in order for us to move onwards and upwards we have to rid the club of these kind of players. Apart from hogan none of them are even near premier league quality any more.

[Edit: Sorry JonDoeman just saw your post. But I'll leave this here anyway) Dave McIntyre/West London Sport
QPR assistant boss pays tribute to Cook24/11/2011 QPR assistant manager Mick Jones has paid tribute to Lee Cook following his loan move to Leyton Orient. Cook, 29, has struggled with knee problems in recent seasons and as a result did not make a single competitive appearance for Fulham after they signed him from the R’s in 2008. The popular winger returned to Loftus Road the following year but has been unable to rediscover his fitness and form, and has been out of the first-team picture for some time. He has joined League One side Orient for an initial month with a view to extending his spell there if he performs well. “He’d have liked to have played higher up, but at this stage I think the important thing for him is just to play games,” Jones told West London Sport. “The lad has been a great servant to QPR and it’s a tragedy that he’s had the injury problems he has. “What I love about the guy is that he’s not bitter and doesn’t feel sorry for himself like you get with some footballers. He doesn’t go around saying ‘Life’s dealt me a bad hand’ or any of that. “He’s a great person, he really is, and I really hope that in the next stage of his career he can play some games and enjoy his football.” Cook is expected to make his O’s debut in Saturday’s match at Sheffield Wednesday. Rangers spent much of Thursday trying to find takers for Rob Hulse and other fringe players in a bid to get them out on loan before the deadline. Hulse recently turned down a temporary move to Doncaster because he did not want to be away from his family, who live in the south. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/jones-pays-tribute-to-cook-after-loan-move-to-leyton-orient/

Sad to see Cookie go.
A proper R and a pure footballer and gentlemen both on and off the pitch.
A player that will always be remembered and with massive respect by me.
Good luck Lee, it's refreshing to see your desire to play and professionality in the modern game.

Lee's still got time to play out of his skin for the Os amd impress Warnock - he needs match time and to stay fit. I haven't given up hope of seeing him play for us in the Prem.
If anyone deserves it, he does.

And that fact should not be forgotten. I still would like to see him get a couple of premier League games under his belt. He thoroughly deserves them and who knows, he might do the job!
