At least in the Football League Carlisle Official Site - A LOAD OF OLD BALLSPosted on: Wed 15 Jun 2011 Football League clubs have voted overwhelmingly in favour of removing the 'multi-ball' option with immediate effect, thus prompting a return to the traditional use of just one match ball for all npower league games this coming season. The multi-ball method permitted the nearest ball boy or girl to hand a new ball to a player as soon as the match ball left the field of play, thus allowing the game to immediately resume. But recent criticism at all levels of the game led to a vote at last week's Football League meeting to bring an end to the use of the multi-ball system. Chairman Andrew Jenkins said: "It's not a system that we have ever really utilised at Carlisle United, but there were some clubs who felt that it was open to manipulation. "We voted in favour of removing it as an option as there is absolutely no room for confusion or dispute if the referee has control of a single match ball." The Football League returns to a single match ball policy for the 2011/12 season. www.carlisleunited.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10361~2376424,00.html

hey rory, with some of our past players, balls have been kicked over the stands for some years now. the kids on the white city estate have never had to buy a football, the reason why all the sport shops have gone out of business in w12

See how Watford were doing it? They had it down to a fine art, a good tactic, but cheating really.

They had very well trained ball boys, lobbing balls to yellow as soon as one went out of play, no respite, straight back on the attack. And then when we were on the attack Slooooooooooowed right down.

When you score a hatrick you could end up with a ball you didn't score with.
Bang out of and indeed cheating.
Watford learned from Everton's multiball tricks!
