QPR Official Site FAN ZONE Posted on: Fri 27 May 2011 R's fan Richard Lewis was amongst the first QPR supporters to renew his Season Ticket for the 2011/12 Premier League campaign when they went on sale on Tuesday lunchtime. Lewis, a lifelong Rangers supporter, renewed his Season Ticket in Block F of the South Africa Road stand. The 59 year-old told http://www.qpr.co.uk: "It's great to hear I was amongst the first to renew my Season Ticket! "I just had to renew it as soon as possible, because next season is going to be one to remember for the Club. I knew demand would be huge on our return to the Premier League and I was determined to keep my aisle seat. "My ticket has gone up in price, but - personally - I think it represents good value for money." The feel-good factor ahead of the new campaign is already building in W12 and Lewis added: "I can't wait for the season to start in mid-August," he said. "I've been coming here since I was eight years-old and this is the place to be now. "The owners have put their money in and as a supporter of the Club, I've done the same, because it's my team." Demand for Season Tickets at Loftus Road is already outweighing last year's statistics at this stage, with Hoops fans eager to seal their ticket for the R's eagerly-anticipated return to the top table of English football. Fellow R's fan Michael Prodromou, who also sits in Block F, added: "I've been a supporter for 40 odd years. "It's been a long time coming since we were in the Premier League. "We're back in the big time and I was determined to clinch my seat as soon as possible. "The buzz of coming along to Loftus Road on a matchday is special. The whole experience is great. "I'm confident that if Neil Warnock is able to bring in the players he wants, we'll be able to hold our own next season." www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2367868,00.html

"The owners have put their money in and as a supporter of the Club, I've done the same, because it's my team." Someone might want to mention to Richard that he's not getting his money back with interest after paying himself a wage to attend. That whole release is all slightly amusing in the same way a horror film can be when it goes to far and becomes almost a parody of reality. Is this what Ian Mills would describe as a 'puff' story?

Well, that's settled it for me, my doubts and anger have cleared. I'm skipping off now to LR to snap up a season ticket, hell, I'll even go into the shop and shell out some more money for some sponsored tat.
Thanks Richard!!!

Proves you don't need Ali Russell to make these totally inane statements
If the club treated the fans with respect here and in other matters - and was just open and honest, people would have a lot more faith in what was happening.
As Honest Abe said: "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time"

This was BBC QPR chiefs refute Amit Bhatia claims QPR co-owners Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore have responded strongly to comments made by Amit Bhatia. Former vice-chairman Bhatia, who represents Lakshmi Mittal, the club's third co-owner, has resigned after disagreements with the club's board. "Bhatia's comments and subsequent press coverage have been damaging to QPR," said the two co-owners in a statement. "They have not received a written offer from the Mittals for the club and feel the verbal offer was insultingly low." Bhatia resigned on Wednesday when the club announced that Premier League season ticket prices for promoted QPR would be going up by around 40%. The co-owners have hit back at criticisms that the price rise is too steep. "QPR's season ticket prices for the 2011/12 season are in line with other London-based Premier League clubs," continued the statement issued by Ecclestone and Briatore. "They are reflective of the club's newly achieved Premier League status. Ecclestone and Briatore believe that although price increases have been necessary, they are not unduly high and initial sales have so far been encouraging. They have also reaffirmed their support for manager Neil Warnock, following speculation linking a number of high- profile managers, including Marcelo Lippi and Claudio Ranieri, with the post. "As they have stated in recent days, Neil Warnock's post as manager remains secure and Neil has the full support of the board." newsvote.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/q/qpr/9496930.stm

Four blokes I know renewed their s/t's on Tuesday. Wouldn't describe any of them as being ecstatic but...two in the Upper Loft, two in the Paddock oh and Goofy did as well. As mentioned, I would have snagged one myself on Wednesday if they were available to first timers, while I was on the blower I could hear sales going on in the background. Also spoke to the marketing department that day, they were busy and seemed 'buoyant' concerning ad sales and sponsorship.

I think the majority view is that fans may (rightly) complain and some may not renew...But there will be thousands who will sign up & sell out...Now what happens to regular tickets when we play Wigan, if we're struggling in the Winter...will we sell out.

About 6 months ago and after smoking 6 joints and drinking a dozen budweisers I can still remember word for word what was said and what we did...... oh and after a gallon, I insisted on turning my tap off despite protests from the five penthouse girls who were still gagging for it. It's the only way to get any sort of value from the prices. Giving it up now would be cutting your nose etc. Goofy will have an excuse to have even longer hair now then! Don't think any of them would describe it as good value though!

Oh the irony
Quote from above "Bhatia's comments and subsequent press coverage have been damaging to QPR," said the two co-owners in a statement."
Of course news about the ticket prices, keeping on a dicredited Paladini at the club and the two co-owners total disdain to the fans and club alike has not done any damage to QPR at all.
Ooops I almost saw a pig crash into a low flying helicopter a moment ago

Let's face it, these statements are being issued by the same people who lied on the official site about paying 3.5 million for Faurlin. And we have proof of this in black and white in the FA report. Who can believe a word they say after that?

Three Years ago:
And a flashback to the Summer of 2008BBC - QPR limit season ticket numbers (July 18, 2008) Queens Park Rangers will cap the number of season ticket sales for the first time in the club's history. The limit means there are only a few hundred season tickets left before the new campaign gets underway. Deputy managing director Ali Russell told BBC London 94.9: "We've decided to cap it at 10,000. "We've had fantastic demand for season-tickets, there's a huge feel good factor at QPR at the moment and we're absolutely delighted with that." Russell added: "I think we're very conscious that people are starting to talk about a recession, not everyone can afford a season-ticket so we certainly want to have tickets available for those people that potentially can't afford a season-ticket." But despite the potentially challenging financial times there has been a phenomenal demand that has seen thousands of fans secure their seats for the club's quest to return to the Premier League. There is no doubt that the increase in ticket sales has been helped by the ongoing changes at the club. We're actually starting to connect with new fans QPR deputy managing director Ali Russell The upcoming season is the first full season since Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone and the Mittal Family completed their takeover of the Club. And the summer break has seen the arrival of a new manager, Iain Dowie, along with five new signings. "I think it's the right thing to do. We're trying to grow the fan base and really grow the club from the really strong base that we've got., added Russell. "We're actually starting to connect with new fans, which is great and we've got prices for every type of fan." 2008 Wednesday, May 21, 2008 QPR Season Tickets: "Unprecedented Demand" - And as the club said yesterday "As Season Tickets continue to sell at a growing rate..." In comparison to this time last year, when the figure stood at 2,605, this represents a staggering 146 per-cent rise on Season Ticket sales recorded. Chairman Ishan Saksena set Rangers fans the target of reaching 9,000 Season Ticket sales by the time of our first League fixture in August, and has offered a five per cent discount to every supporter who contributes towards the figure. It seems R's fans are well on course to exceed that amount by the time the season kicks off in two months' time. "We are delighted with the number of fans who have purchased their Season Ticket already," Saksena told www.qpr.co.uk. "It shows great commitment from supporters and we thank them for that. We are very excited about next season and the fans can make a massive difference." When the 2009/10 campaign kicked off against Blackpool ten months ago, QPR had sold a total of 6,568 Season Tickets. Incredibly, that figure has almost been reached already ahead of Neil Warnock's maiden season in W12. Well just what I said Maude and its the story in all Dictatorships. there is one big lie which everyone is forced to believe followed by tons of regular lies. Corporations use it to make millions of pounds or whatever the currencey. As I said Enron manufactured non existent electric companies and used them for hedge funding and people believed them including state of California.
As part of my work and training, I have spent time working in prisons. Not one prisoner actually admitted to doing anything wrong. They were unjustly there. Andy works in prisons in Kiwiland and Im sure he would confirm this.

Anyone who has renewed has done so because they want to. Why is this an issue?
Renewing is far cheaper than trying to buy a season, it's a gold dust scenario.
Which i had the choice now, can't see my membership getting me f*ck all now and gawd knows what membership will cost when ST holders are bewing asked to pay an additional £35 to have ehat they've always had as part of the ST.
Membership £50, £60, how much?

Why do they keep saying that there will be plenty of mouth watering games to watch? Are they serving up roasts or some yummy dish at the games?
Watching Manure or Chelski is not mouth watering. It's a chance to see how we will go. We've been watching these teams on Sky for years so they are not the big draw card one might think. It is now we have a chance to see our team on TV every week.

I posted this a year ago. Nothing's much changed - Certainly not gotten better Supporters Chair: Lower Ticket Prices
The Times - Malcolm Clarke
May 28, 2010
Ticket prices priority No1 if supporters are to return
We were not surprised by The Times Football Survey results that landed at the Football Supporters’ Federation (FSF). The FA, for all its present dysfunctional nature, is and should be in charge. We think Uefa deserves a better mark from fans, though. Its new financial fair play rules should help to curb the fiscal lunacy that is English football. The FSF favours goalline technology like most fans. We debated and passed a resolution saying this at our 2008 Fans’ Parliament. Football is a far more difficult game in which to use technology than both codes of rugby or cricket. It should not be beyond the game’s lawmakers at the International Football Association Board to give the big leagues the option to use goalline technology without disrupting the flow of the game or altering its playing laws, though. They have done it in ice hockey for ages. We understand why so many fans are in favour of salary-capping in the Premier League, but we think there are better ways of achieving that objective. The financial controls in place in Germany and, dare we say it, France are the way to go to stop the financial Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. As for putting a cap on ticket prices — Yes, Yes, Yes! We have the most expensive admission prices in the world in Britain. At the same time as the game continues to be carpet-bombed with television billions, ticket prices have gone through the roof. The game is now unaffordable to many, many fans. Compare the prices in Germany, France, Italy or Spain with here. Even with the pound low against the euro, they do far better. In Germany they also treat fans like grown-ups and give them the adult choice to sit or stand as each fan prefers. The so-called “golden era” of the game here wasn’t all that golden for fans in many ways — unsafe stadiums, neglectful maintenance and safety management. It is good that grounds aren’t potential death traps any more. However, fans are sick of being treated as turnstile fodder. Being told to sit down, shut up and open our wallets has become frustrating. Many fans are disillusioned. So it is time for the game to listen to its most valued “customers”. • Malcolm Clarke is chairman of the Football Supporters’ Federation and the first supporter representative on the FA Council. The FSF represents more than 180,000 fans throughout England and Wales and is free to join. This was Gianni Five years ago (come June 6) QPR Chairman Paladini re QPR On & Off the Feild - QPR Official Site - June 8, 2006PALADINI SPEAKS With the start of a new season beckoning, Gianni Paladini would like to clarify the position and goals of QPR: Last year was a difficult season both for the club and for me personally. I feel that resultant media coverage and speculation has obscured what the Board are striving to achieve with the club, so I would like to take this opportunity to re-state our goals. Let us state up-front that our ultimate goal is to get the club back into the Premiership where we believe QPR belong, but we know that this will only be achieved with a gradual step by step approach. To achieve this goal we need to provide the club with financial stability and to improve the quality of playing squad and coaching staff. As stated previously, the aim of the current Board is for the underlying business of the club to break-even.
Next season will see further improvements and we expect the losses fall to below £1m - a significant improvement on the years before I became involved with the club.Without the financial support of the current Board, the club would have gone into administration last season. With the financial resources being made available, the club will not go into administration with the current Board in control. All the members of the Board are people who love football and are committed to QPR. The Board has already put in place our financing for next season and we will continue to bring in new investors, to help fund further improvements to the squad and the club. We are currently engaged in discussions with potential new investors, who are very enthusiastic about QPR, and we hope to make an announcement about this in the near future. The Club would also like to highlight three commercial deals that the current Board have done for the club. The new four year deal with our shirt manufacturer Le Coq Sportif will bring in an additional £250,000 per annum; the new shirt sponsors Cargiant will bring in £150,000 per annum; and the new stand and shorts sponsors GJ Electrical will also bring in another £150,000 per annum. In addition, there are two other high value commercial deals, currently in the final stages of negotiation, that will be announced soon. There would appear to be a contradiction between the club breaking even and improving the quality of the squad. Recent experience has taught us that just spending money on players will not guarantee results, unless of course you have the resources of Russian oligarch at your disposal. However, with a solid financial and administrative base established at the club, the Board and new investors will feel confident enough to provide further resources for the playing squad. As I still get asked about the ABC loan I would like to tell the fans and shareholders that we are hoping to replace the ABC loan in the near future with a cheaper loan from a more reputable financial institution. What do we know about the ABC Corporation? Unfortunately very little, we have suspicions, but we can't prove who the controlling interest behind the ABC Corporation is. The ABC Corporation's lack of transparency means that the Board must question their motives and their attitude towards the club which is why the Board wish to refinance the ABC loan. We will be reviewing the legality of the ABC loan. Just to confirm what has been stated previously, Gary Waddock is the Manager-designate and once the situation with Ian Holloway has been resolved then Gary will formally be announced as the Manager. Recent speculation in the press about a dispute regarding compensation between Ian Holloway and the club is wholly untrue. We continue to have an amicable relationship with Ian, who is still being paid in full. Ian hopes to have a managerial position sorted out with a new club shortly. Gary has been responsible for selecting next season's squad and coaching team. The first team squad for next season will comprise of 26 players which is only two players less than the squad we started last season with. Many old favourites are still here such as Dan Shittu, Lee Cook, Gareth Ainsworth, Paul Furlong and Kevin Gallen. Martin Rowlands and Matthew Rose will also be back from injury. We are spoilt for choice with two excellent goalkeepers in Simon Royce and Paul Jones as well as Jake Cole and Sean Thomas waiting in the wings. We have a superb group of youngsters coming through with Scott Donnelly, Shabazz Baidoo, Stefan Bailey, Dominic Shimmin and Pat Kanyuka. Our new signings include Damion Stewart, who had a good game for Jamaica against England and Armel Tchakounte from Cameroon. We look forward to announcing the final three signings that we are currently negotiating with as soon as we are able. I would like to thank all the fans that have already renewed their season tickets for next season. The volume of season tickets processed so far at 6,300 is slightly down on the number of tickets processed at this stage last year, a pattern that has been reflected across other clubs, but we expect further sales once we confirm next season's signings. The vast majority of these are full price season ticket renewals and 443 are new full price season ticket holders. There are 417 free tickets for kids so far and I am personally delighted that we have attracted these young season tickets holders as they are the fans of the future. We have put our finances in order, our losses will continue to fall towards a break even situation, we have a new manager ready to take us forward and we have a new and younger squad that will form the basis of a team to challenge for promotion to the Premiership. I look forward to seeing all of you at the first home game of next season, and I thank you for your continued loyal support. Come on you R's!
