I think its the third tier......... (from wiki)
The Lega Italiana Calcio Professionistico (Italian for Italian Professional Football League), commonly known as Lega Pro (Pro League), is the governing body that runs the third and fourth highest football divisions in Italy, the Prima Divisione and Seconda Divisione respectively. It also includes the sole professional club of San Marino. Its headquarters are in Florence.
In turn, Prima Divisione consists of two groups: Girone A and Girone B, both of 18 teams. At the end of the season, four teams (two from each group) go up to Serie B and six teams (three from each group) go down to Seconda Divisione.
The Seconda Divisione consists of three groups: Girone A, Girone B, and Girone C, all of them composed of 18 teams. At the end of the season, six teams (two from each group) go up to the Prima Divisione and nine teams (three from each group) go down to Serie D. In both the Prima Divisione and Seconda Divisione, teams are split by geographical criteria.

Info on Albert's new team (again from wiki)
Associazione Calcio Lumezzane is an Italian football club, based in Lumezzane, Lombardy. The club was founded in 1948.[1] The club currently plays in Lega Pro Prima Divisione.
In the Serie C2 2007-08 regular season, Lumezzane finished fourth in Girone A, and qualified for the promotional playoffs. The team defeated third-placed Rodengo Saiano in the semi-finals, 2-1 on aggregate. In the finals, it defeated fifth-placed Mezzocorona due to the fact it was the higher classified team after the pair ended in 0-0 aggregate tie, thus winning promotion to, the now called, Lega Pro Prima Divisione for the 2008-09 season. Mario Balotelli is the most notable ex-player. He now plays for F.C. Internazionale Milano and Italy national under-21 football team. On the 26th November, 2009, Lumezzane beat Atalanta Bergamo, a Serie A team, away from home, in the Coppa Italia, giving them one of the biggest victories in their history.

QPR Official Site - ALBERTI HEADS OUT ON LOAN Posted on: Fri 23 Jul 2010
Matteo Alberti has joined Italian Lega Pro Prima Divisione A side AC Lumezzane on a season-long loan. Alberti joined the R's in August 2008 and has made 14 appearances to date, scoring two goals.
The fact that he's a loan from than a transfer....(even a free transfer) might mean he's still costing us... But I guess the hope is "out of sight. Out of Mind"

The Alberti JOINS QPR Signing statement (which came after Gianni was going around making grandiose claims about what a goalscoring success Alberti would be) ALBERTI JOINS QPR QPR Official Site EXCLUSIVE: ITALIAN AGREES DEAL Queens Park Rangers Football Club have reached agreement with A.C Chievo Verona for the transfer of Matteo Alberti. The 19 year-old will officially put pen to paper on a four-year contract on Tuesday 1st July, after the two Clubs agreed an undisclosed fee for his services. Alberti is yet to make his full league debut for the Serie B side, but the Brescia-born midfielder is extremely highly-rated in Italy, and the R's have beaten off stiff competition from a number of top Serie A Clubs for his signature. As part of the agreement, Alberti's former Club will travel to Loftus Road for a prestigious pre-season friendly on Saturday 2nd August 2008 - kick-off 3.00pm. qprreport.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=15097

About Lumezzane www.goal.com/en-gb/teams/italy/1160/lumezzaneGoal.com Matteo Alberti joins AC Lumezzane on loan from QPR The youngster is back in Italy... By Subhankar MondalQueens Park Rangers have farmed out midfielder Matteo Alberti on loan to AC Lumezzane for the 2010-11 season. The 21-year-old was signed in the summer of 2008 but has failed to make much of an impression at Loftus Road. Alberti failed to make any appearance for QPR last year and in two seasons with the English club has played just 14 times for the first team, starting a mere six of them. The former Chievo player has now gone back to Italy in hope of resurrecting his career. Lumezzane currently feature in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione A, which is essentially the third tier in Italian football.www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2897/championship/2010/07/23/2039369/matteo-alberti-joins-ac-lumezzane-on-loan-from-qpr

Hope you't not blaming our food OB1 Hmm, no and well, let me phrase it like this, he hasn't gone any thinner since moving back to Sweden. Honestly though, fantastic football player that got his career ruined by a nasty injury and then went to Leeds, but he never really got back from that injury. You can also see the decline for the swedish international team coincide with his injury, bronze in the world cup 1994 and then we missed out on both the euros in 1996 and the world cup in 1998.

Not too far away from where our first team is at the moment. Beautiful village, but it must be some difference to living in London.

And a flashback. As was "disseminated" at the time in various places Vital QPR Rangers fend off Competition for Alberti Matteo Alberti today agreed a contract with Queens Park Rangers despite having several other options available to him. The young Chievo Verona winger will put pen to paper on a four-year contract on the 1st July. Despite not actually making a first team appearance for the club positioned well in Serie B, Alberti had attracted the attention of several prominent Serie A clubs. The player, who was spotted alongside Gianni Paladini at the Player of the Year dinner, moves to Loftus Road in move which paved the way for a friendly between his new club and his current club in W12 on Saturday 2nd August. The highly rated Italian may not have to wait long for a first team opportunity providing new Rangers coach Iain Dowie deems the youngster is worthy enough. www.qpr.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=109685

The 100 goal man has come up 98 short. I have to say that when he played he didn't look that bad especially given some of the terrible runs of form by some players that have gone without them being dropped.

He still has 2 years on his contract, if all things turn out for their best he will get some much much needed match experience and might develop as a player.
I don't think his future is with us, but best of luck to him. Must be tough on kid to be heralded as the next big thing and then hardly get to play at all.
