South Wales Echo City fans hitting the road to London Apr 14 2010 by Terry Phillips, South Wales Echo Add a commentRecommend UP to 2,000 Bluebirds fans will be at Loftus Road in London on Saturday to cheer their team on towards the play-offs. Cardiff City can clinch a top six finish by either winning against manager Neil Warnock pictured and his QPR side – or if Blackpool and Middlesbrough fail to win. Blackpool face third in the table Nottingham Forest, while Boro travel to West Brom. Cardiff City have three Championship matches left – against QPR, Sheffield Wednesday at home and Derby County away – and look certain to qualify for the play-offs. Their match at QPR has been made all-ticket for away fans on the advice of police. Cardiff fans should also be aware no alcohol will be available in the away section at Loftus Road. More than half of Cardiff’s 2,000 allocation have already been sold as Cardiff City set out to extend their eight-game unbeaten run. QPR’s attack against the Bluebirds will be led by loan strikers Jay Simpson and Tamas Priskin. Simpson, aged 21, is on loan from Arsenal and once a target for Cardiff City, has scored 12 goals from 32 starts for QPR this season. Rangers have borrowed Hungarian Priskin from Ipswich Town. Manager Warnock has been forced to change his team from the 2-0 win at Crystal Palace after defender Damion Stewart suffered a fractured skull. The Jamaican sustained the injury in a first minute aerial clash. QPR physio Paul Hunter said: “The scan results have given us some good news. There is no further damage to what we were already aware of. “Damion will have a precautionary brain scan tomorrow and will remain in hospital for the rest of the week.” www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/cardiff-city-fc/2010/04/14/city-fans-hitting-the-road-to-london-91466-26236624/
