Copied/Pasted From Transfer Thread Courtesy of our latest poster, At qprreport.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=9230Alt: Re: January 2010 transfers (anyones & everyones) Hi, did anyone know about Pellicori's transfer to Italy at Mantova? QPR Report No! (There were reports on other board he was gone or going but no one said where) Do you have a link (even in Italian saying he's there). I'm looking on the Mantova site and off hand dont see www.acmantova.org/giocatori.asp alt I'm a journalist here in Mantova and today I've written about a contact between the two club and the agent of Pellicori. I suspect that the italian directors are in London.

So...What do you know about Pellicori?! What would you like to know? This was the Official Signing Announcement QPR Official Site - EXCLUSIVE: R'S SIGN PELLICORI - Thu 30 Jul 2009 Queens Park Rangers Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Italian striker Alessandro Pellicori. - The 28 year-old, who has been on trial with Jim Magilton's First Team squad for the majority of pre-season, has penned a three year deal. - Speaking to www.qpr.co.uk, Magilton expressed his delight at bringing the former Avellino front-man to Loftus Road. - "Alessandro has done well with us during his trial period," said Magilton. - "He's a natural goalscorer and we're delighted to add him to the already healthy attacking options we have at our disposal. - "He'll take time to settle over here, but we're really excited by his arrival." - Pellicori began his professional career at Cosenza, before moving on to Lecce in 2000. - He made his Serie A top-flight debut in January 2001, before spending time on loan at a variety of Serie C Clubs, before settling down at Grosseto. - Twenty-two goals in 52 starts represented a very decent return, but he was soon on the move again, this time signing for Serie B outfit Piacenza. - However, he made just nine starts for Piacenza and penned a deal with Serie B rivals Cesena in January 2007. That summer he moved on to newly-promoted Avellino, scoring an impressive 18 goals in 38 starts. Pellicori will wear squad number 12. *You can see Pellicori's excellent goal against Kettering Town last night, exclusively on QPR Player on Friday. *To sponsor the R's new striker for the 2009/10 campaign, contact our Sales Team now on 020 8740 2588. Well the (reliable) local press have announced we're prepared to let him go (one of the strangest of a sizable number of strange QPR signings in recent years)
At QPR he's done nothing.
He's presumed to be returning to Italy. So...But I haven't seen any specific club named on any messageboards.
There were rumours when he signed of a million pound transfer fee. Also rumours that he was free. And suggestion it was a very STRANGE transfer perhaps of benefit to the selling club.

I know him very well because he played aganist Mantova in Italy Serie B. On of the strange things about this rumor is that Mantova doesn't have money to pay the transfer of a player under a 3 year contract. Could you give me some contacts? Maybe managers of the club or journalist following Qpr... Thanks

Makes great rereading And who's the source for Paul Warburton? Jul 16 2009 London Informer/Ealing Gazette - Paul Warburton QPR dig deep for Italian hot-shot Pellicori- QPR will pay over the odds for Alessandro Pellicori - but only if the Italian striker proves he's worth a £1million fee during the next two games.- Reports that the 27-year-old's transfer is a done deal are wide of the mark. - But Rangers are worried that unless they pay far more than they might need to they will lose the prolific hitman to someone else.- The deal will be rushed through if Pellicori's trial with Rs turns up trumps, because his club, Avellino, are on the verge of bankruptcy and after being relegated from Serie B they need all the cash they can get.- Pellicori was last night (Wednesday) with the Rs squad on their tour of Slovenia and Croatia that ends on Sunday with the match against NK Carlovac - but an insider insisted Pellicori was just one of a number of irons in the fire. - "If Jim Magilton likes what he sees," said the source, "then a deal can be done quickly. With the state Avellino are in it could be that a future creditor would let him go far more cheaply - but there are too many ifs and maybes to all of that." - The player was loaned out to Serie B side Grosseto last season, and has done the rounds in Italy's second tier except for a single spell in the top-flight with Lecce three seasons ago. - However, the season before last he hit 18 for Avellino in a notoriously defensive league, while playing as the lone hitman for the ailing club. - An Rs insider said: "He's come to an age where he could be perfect for QPR - but that's all in the hands of the manager."

1) We didn't pay a transfer fee for him.
2) We did pay a transfer fee for him, but we got most of it back
3) A 3 year contract, but it was low wages
4) A 3 year contract, but since he's gone obviously we're not paying him the rest
5) Not every deal can be a success: We've got Taarabt and Simpson...and look who else we bought.
6) Every transfer and wage ultimately decided by Briatore
7) Look at what Ian Holloway and Ray Wilkins did
8) Just being negative cos we're losing
9) QPR Hater
10) Got to Move on. Not Focus on Past
11) He saved the Club

My feeling is they will do it their way and really dont see us, the fans,as having any personal value except to pay their fees and prices.
One day Briatore will tire of Paladini, then I think he might wash his hands on the QPR venture. Thats when we will be at the
crossroads. Crossing that Rubicon may not be possible.
Or alternativeley a point will come when the club is worth more to them by being closed down than keeping it going. The above still applies.

Well - if you speak Italian - can also check back here on the Mantova site www.acmantova.org/giocatori.aspI know some people (conveniently) say don't like look back - good way to bury QPR mistakes. But of course doesn't work like that. Especially when one of the big "selling points" for Paladini has been "He Saved The Club" I think there should be a clear explanation of how we came to sign this player. Who saw him? Recommended him? Who decided to sign him? What did he cost? Etc [Do I actually EXPECT This to happen? ...Well

"He Saved The Club"
I would just like to note that my polite request to Funkyon another thread, to explain how he did this has been studiously ignored.
As it has been in the past by others.
Is there an account anywhere explaining how he did do this?

Hasn't he gone yet? Get yer finger out Gianni and get rid.
Do we really think they are meeting into the night with Briatore over this?
More like he's chewing the cud with a few of mates.

Given that Pete reportelly drove him from the airporit, probably just making arrrangements for when it would be convenient for Pete to drive him to the airport...
