The Zimbabwean - Bhasera Joins English SideJOHANNESBURG - After a wasted 2008/2009 season, former Kaizer Chiefs left back, Onismor Bhasera (Pictured), will be playing for English Coca-Coal First Division outfit, Queens Park Rangers, Kaizer Chiefs club manager, Bobbie Motaung has said. Bhasera, who last year opted for the English premiership side, Portsmouth Football Club, was embroiled in serious transfer wrangles with his former Naturena club arguing that he was a free agent while Amakhosisa insisted that the player belonged to them. In an interview with CAJ News, Kaizer Chiefs club manager, Motaung, said his club was currently negotiating for a transfer fee with Queens Park Rangers having failed to agree terms with Portsmouth. "Forget about the rumours being manufactured around Bhasera, he is our player. Currently we are negotiating for a signing deal with Queens Park Rangers on a club-to-club arrangement. "We are convinced the deal will sail through anytime from now," said Motaung. He could not reveal the amount to exchange hands, but close sources claim the amount could reach the range of ÂŁ500 000 pounds (about R5.5million). Bhasera, who is also the left back for the Zimbabwe Warriors national soccer squad, is believed to have suffered a severe blow during the year long wrangle between Kaizer Chiefs and Portsmouth. Bhasera's close friend, Alois Bunjira, said the Queens Park Rangers deal would give him relief. "Onismor was badly affected financially, and we all hope everything goes well for him. The ownership wrangle between Kaizer Chiefs and then Portsmouth had impacted negatively on the player. "Presently Bhasera is training with Queens Park Rangers, and he strongly believe he would have achieved something positive when the June signing window closes," said Bunjira. Bhasera was invited to Queens Park Rangers by his former manager at Portsmouth, Ricardo Gomez, who also described the situation as a big "mess." Kaizer Chiefs still insist that the player is contracted to them while the player is adamant that he is a free agent. www.thezimbabwean.co.uk/2010012028038/football/bhasera-joins-english-side.html?

Kickoff Bhasera close to QPR move Kaizer Chiefs team manager Bobby Motaung tells KickOff.com that Onismor Bhasera is close to joining English Championship side Queens Park Rangers. The Zimbabwean left back is in dispute with Kaizer Chiefs over his contract, claiming it expired last year in June as he looked to make a move to Portsmouth where he had been offered a three-year contract, but Chiefs maintained that they had a year option on the player and extended it. The matter was referred to Fifa towards the end of last year, but to date no decision had been taken. Bhasera is now training with Rangers, after he was invited by former Portsmouth coach Paul Hart, who has also left Rangers, but Bhasera looks set to stay longer at the club as Chiefs reveal that the two teams are negotiating and in "good faith", unlike with Portsmouth, the club that was adamant that they were not going to pay Chiefs for Bhasera, who had informed them that he is a free agent. "We have started negotiating with QPR and I think they are going to take the boy," Motaung reveals to KickOff.com. "I will follow-up it up tomorrow. We want Bhasera to play football and it looks like he might join QPR as negotiations are going well so far," Motaung adds. www.kickoff.com/mobile/content/article/13476

Skysports - Just taking from. But giving story more legitimacy www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11711_5876117,00.html Bhasera close to QPR switch Chiefs defender impresses while training with Championship club By Richard Bailey Last updated: 21st January 2010 Bhasera: Impresses QPR Onismor Bhasera is reportedly close to securing a deal to join Championship outfit QPR. The 23-year-old agreed a three-year deal with Portsmouth last summer but the move was cancelled after the player's club, Kaiser Chiefs, claimed he was still under contract to them. The defender stated that his deal with the Chiefs expired last June and the case went to Fifa but as of yet the world football governing body are still to deliver a verdict. Former Pompey boss Paul Hart invited Bhasera down for a trial at Loftus Road and despite the fact that he has now left the club, the Zimbabwe international looks almost certain to sign on. Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung feels a transfer is close as negotiations between the two clubs are going well. "We have started negotiating with QPR and I think they are going to take the boy," he told KickOff.com. "I will follow it up tomorrow. We want Bhasera to play football and it looks like he might join QPR as negotiations are going well so far."

NOPE! Zimbabwean Bhasera on the move again Written by Sports Reporter Wednesday, 27 January 2010 onismor_bhaseraJOHANNESBURG – Zimbabwean international defender, Onismor Bhasera, is on the move again. (Pictured: Onismor Bhasera is adamant that he is a free agent.) The Warriors fullback, who has been on the sidelines for six months owing to a protracted battle with his former South African club – Kaizer Chiefs and struggling English Premiership side, Portsmouth over his signature, is now said to be trying out at Sheffield Wednesday. According to sources close to Bhasera, the Warriors left back, who spent the past few weeks trying to sign with another Championship side, Queens Park Rangers (QPR), began training last week. “Bhasera failed to strike a deal with QPR for a number of reasons and so he left,” said the source. According to the source, also a soccer player, Bhasera’s bid to sign for QPR failed because of technical changes in the team during the past two weeks. “The man who initially wanted to sign him for Portsmouth – Paul Hart (former Portsmouth Manager) joined QPR last month, and he is the one who wanted to sign Bhasera for QPR.” However, the source added, Hart resigned a few days after Bhasera had resumed training with the Championship club, creating a problem for the Warriors defender. After his failure to land the QPR contract, Bhasera left for Wednesday late last week and is now training with the club, hoping for better luck. “He has begun training with Sheffield Wednesday and I just hope that things will work out for him this time because he is a talented and committed individual who really deserves a break into the bigger and financially rewarding English leagues,” added the friend. Bhasera’s move from QPR comes a few days after the English First Division side denied signing the former Kaizer Chiefs defender, something that had been reported last week. “We did not sign Bhasera, although we have had him regularly coming for trials here,” said QPR media manager, Paul Morrissey last week. It remains to be seen if Kaizer Chiefs will allow Bhasera’s latest bid to find an English club, as the Naturena-based club still insist that the Zimbabwean is contracted to them until the end of the current season, while the defender is adamant that he is a free agent. www.thezimbabwean.co.uk/2010012728248/football/bhasera-on-the-move-again.html
