YES From the Mail's Lips to G-d's Ear (I actually posted something in the Italian press re this!) Daily Mail Scandal-hit Juventus reported to be considering QPR chairman Flavio Briatore for club president By Sportsmail Reporter Last updated at 3:25 PM on 11th January 2010 Comments (0) Add to My Stories Big job: Briatore has been linked with Juve Queens Park Rangers chairman Flavio Briatore has been linked with the president's job at Juventus. Italian gossip site Dagospia claims the former Renault Forumla One team boss is in line to replace Jean-Claude Blanc at the top of one of Italy's biggest clubs. Frenchman Blanc rose to prominence after the club's board resigned in the wake of the 2006 Calciopoli match-fixing scandal. He took the top job last year after previously being general manager in Turin, but is under pressure, not least because of the club's poor performance on the pitch. Juve are third in Serie A, well off the pace set by Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan, and they went out at the group stage in the Champions League. Briatore is said to be a friend of the Agnelli family, who have run Juve for decades. The move to install the 59-year-old could eventually see Andre Agnelli, son of former president Umberto, take over at the helm of the scandal-hit club. Low point: AC Milan beat Juventus 3-0 in Turin on Sunday Briatore's future at QPR could still be in doubt following the 'crashgate' Formula One scandal that saw him effectively banned from the sport for life. The sanction was overturned by a French court last week, but the FIA intend to appeal. If they are successful, Briatore could yet fail the Football League's fit and proper persons test. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1242361/Scandal-hit-Juventus-reported-considering-QPR-chairman-Flavio-Briatore-club-president.html

Italy's fit and proper person must be a right laugh, headed up by Berlusconi. Can you imagine it? Have you done anything as bad as me? OK then, you'll do. ;D
My concern would be if he did go there, who will he take with him? Be careful what you wish for. Mind you, does being Juve's president preclude him from involvement with QPR?

They have one of Danny Dichio's shirts on the wall (Not a hooped one sadly! ) as his dad is a regular.
Let's just say FB is not too popular with your average Italian footie fan.....

Flashback: September 23, 2008 - The Independent
La Dolce Vita: What really drives Flavio Briatore?
The yacht, the women, the football club, the F1 team – he's got the lot. But what drives Flavio Briatore? Susie Rushton finds out"....Although Briatore assesses his F1 commitments as taking "90 per cent" of his time, for the past year his attention has been diverted by a new passion, Queens Park Rangers, the west London football club (now in the second tier). Why did this lifelong Juventus fan buy QPR? "If you want to do football in the business way, England is the only place. I am a Juventus fan, and it's very cheap for me – I just buy a ticket and go and see a match. You don't buy a club because you like it." Much has been made of the fancy makeover Briatore and his wealthy friends have given to QPR's Loftus Road ground. The stadium now has its own Cipriani restaurant, and Briatore recently declared that QPR would host something he termed "boutique football". Er, which means? "It's like... if you have a hotel, a boutique hotel, that only has 50 rooms, while a grand hotel has 400 rooms. We only have 20,000 seats, and we will offer the best service to the fans... you know, it's going to look amazing." It probably will, although I can't help thinking that it will be sponsors and Flav's celebrity pals, not Super Hoops fans, who will be tucking into Cipriani's signature bellinis and beef carpaccio. Despite aiming to make it to the Premier League "within two years", Briatore isn't splashing the cash on star players. "Well, Manchester City put the players before the club," he purrs, referring to the spending spree by that club's new Arab owners. "We have a different approach. It takes time. I know people think that QPR is a very rich football club. It has very rich shareholders, but it's not because you have very rich shareholders that the company is rich." Which, roughly translated, means: that's your lot. ..." www.independent.co.uk/news/people/profiles/la-dolce-vita-what-really-drives-flavio-briatore-938708.html

Calciomercato. Will Briatore bring Juventus out of their crisis? 10:00 del 13 gennaio Juventus in crisis, Flavio Briatore turns up. After the goodbye to Formula 1 there would be his sensational arrival in Italian football after the experience in England at QPR, last year Berlusconi wanted him alongside Galliani for his AC Milan. A long time friend of Moggi, is on good terms with some members of the Agnelli family: At the last Juventus meeting Ugo Colombo, a business partner of Briatore was present, obviously he denies everything. I envisage the fans burning the stadium to the floor if Briatore goes there & treats them like QPR.

In F1 you can manage drivers (who race for different teams) and also be manager for one particular team.
I assume if he was to get/take this position he would have to resign from QPR - would this be correct?
