News of the World FINNAN HOPING FOR PORTSMOUTH RESCUE FINNAN: Keen to move to QPR By Garry Ward, 09/01/2010 STEVE FINNAN is praying to be rescued from his Portsmouth hell - with QPR keen to snap him up. The former Ireland international wants out of Fratton Park as soon as possible and hopes former boss, Paul Hart, will pick him up in the bargain-basement January sales. Finnan, 33, has told his advisors to shop around for a move and is prepared to drop down to the Championship to get regular first-team football as well as regular payments. A source said: "Steve is deeply frustrated by the mess Portsmouth are in and wants away. He knows the club is going nowhere and he is keen to get his career back on track." The former Liverpool defender only arrived at Fratton Park from Espanyol last July, signing a one-year deal. www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/667686/FINNAN-HOPING-FOR-PORTSMOUTH-RESCUE.html
