Nottingham Evening Post Blackstock out...Pellicori In... YES Blackstock out for West Brom revengeFriday, January 08, 2010, 16:251 reader has commented on this story. NOTTINGHAM Forest can take revenge on West Brom for the way they pinched three points at the City Ground at the start of the campaign. That is the view of Dexter Blackstock, who still feels aggrieved at the way the Reds lost their opening home league match to the Baggies back in August. Despite dominating play, Forest lost 1-0 and also saw Robert Earnshaw miss a penalty. Forest are currently on a 17-match unbeaten run in all competitions. And along with their unbeaten away record that stretches back to March of last year, the Reds have moved up to third in the Championship. That makes tonight's clash even more mouthwatering with West Brom in second place, just two points above Billy Davies' men. The 23-year-old striker said: "The last time we met we dominated at home and West Brom took all three points. "They are a good side and that is what good sides do. They took their chance but we want to do the same to them this time. It will be a tough game but we are confident we can go there and get the win this time." Blackstock came off the bench in that match but is set to start at the Hawthorns. He is the joint top scorer with seven goals but his all-round displays have impressed since his summer move from QPR. He added: "West Brom is a big match and we have got to go there with the aim to win. "There is no doubt we can do that and you cannot get a much more confident squad than we have at the moment. "We are 17 unbeaten and there are not many teams can match that and we are unbeaten since March away from home. "We have nothing to fear. This is a massive game in which we know we can take all three points." www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/homesport/Blackstock-West-Brom-revenge/article-1689696-detail/article.html

West Brom 1 - 3 Nottm Forest Superb second-half goals from Radoslaw Majewski and Chris Cohen took Nottingham Forest to second in the table with a deserved win at West Brom.
Dexter Blackstock muscled his way past his marker to give Forest the lead as the hosts failed to fire early on.
After the break a spectacular volley from Majewski was quickly followed by a flowing team move for the third.
Roman Bednar slotted home to ignite faint hopes of a Baggies' comeback but it proved too little too late.
More to follow.

Perhaps Flavio got it mixed up, it was meant to be Paladini to Forest and Blackstock stayed!

Sure Nott Forest spent some money over the past year. But probably not compared to what QPR have spent over the past couple of years....Sure they have a good manager. But doubt that he's much better than what we've seen come through Loftus Road

And Lee Camp: MAYBE Cerny is/was better. That's a judgement call. But as when the owner tells the manager which goalie to play, says everything. This is London - December 30, 2008 - "...- Sporting director Gianni Paladini was charged with finding an English-speaking manager who understood the Championship and Dowie appeared to tick the relevant boxes. But even before a ball was kicked in anger in August, there was friction over who should play in goal: Briatore pulled rank to insist that close-season signing Radek Cerny was preferred to the keeper in residence, Lee Camp.- The Italian said: "The coach criticised me over Cerny. I said I thought he was the best keeper in the Championship. I tried to make him understand what we wanted but it was very difficult..." qprreport.blogspot.com/2008/12/briatore-enjoying-running-qpr.htmlAs Ben Kosky/Kilburn Times wrote last year "....The window for loan transfers reopened earlier this week and Rangers will allow Camp to move on the understanding that Forest buy him at the end of the season. It brings an end to a baffling saga in which Camp - a consistent performer and popular figure with the Loftus Road crowd throughout his three spells at the club - was frozen out on the orders of co-owner Flavio Briatore. Briatore instructed sporting director Gianni Paladini to ship Camp out last autumn, even though former manager Iain Dowie stated that he wanted the keeper to challenge Cerny for his place between the posts. It was made clear to Camp that he would only play for Rangers again in an emergency - and that proved to be the case when the Czech number one strained his hamstring at the end of last month."

Not forgetting the rumours about Camp's supposed transgressions with certain female(s). Where did they come from I wonder?

On the Paladini plus side, as I understand it, agreed a rise for Blackstock that when taken to Briatore he tore it up, along with a series of expletives regarding not being robbed. Where did that come from I wonder?

Lee Camp Wins Award Sat 09 Jan 2010 Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Lee Camp is celebrating today after being named Coca-Cola Championship Player of the Month for December 2009. Camp was in outstanding form in December, conceding just a single goal to help his side record four wins and two draws from their six league fixture. The 'keeper's run of clean sheets has been instrumental in Forest's rise up the table and they now head into the New Year with an automatic promotion place in the Coca-Cola Championship firmly in their sights. Also short-listed for the December award were Chris Burke of Cardiff City, Billy Sharp of Doncaster Rovers and Swansea City's Darren Pratley. Jermaine Beckford of Leeds United won the award in League 1 and Rochdale's Craig Dawson was given the League 2 accolade. The decision to present the Coca-Cola Championship Player of the Month award was made by the Coca-Cola Player of the Month awards panel which includes former World Cup referee Jack Taylor, on behalf of The Football League, Steve Bates, Chairman of the Football Writers' Association, Malcolm Clarke, Chairman of the Football Supporters' Federation and Steve Watts, Marketing Assets Manager, Coca-Cola Great Britain. www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10308~1927759,00.html

I tried to make him understand what we wanted but it was very difficult... Unless Palidini said we want to be a mid-table unbalanced average side with loads of unfulfilled potential whilst we make a mockery of the club off the pitch, then I don't think anyone would understand the rational behind all the decisions the board has made so far. However add egos and ignorance into the equation and things start to make a little more sense. If anyone can explain to me the benefits to QPR in sending Camp and Blackstock to a league rival and then not replacing Camp, but Blackstock with Pelicori (Simpson is an Arsenal player) then maybe I will see the point Palidini is trying to make. Seriously, anyone..........................?
