Or to rephrase it, someone at QPR was also interested in bringing him to QPR when Dowie and Sousa were the manager at QPR.Sporting Life
AGENT: QPR AGREE FOLAN LOAN DEAL Caleb Folan's agent says QPR have agreed a deal to sign the Hull striker on loan. Folan has only recently returned from a loan spell at Middlesbrough and Hull are ready to let the Republic of Ireland international go out on loan again. The former Wigan player saw his time at Middlesbrough interrupted by injury with the powerful forward making just one appearance for the Teesside outfit. He is now back to full fitness and QPR boss Paul Hart is keen to lure him to Loftus Road as he looks to bolster his attacking options. Folan's agent Hayden Evans has confirmed Hull are happy to loan out the 27-year-old and a deal has been agreed between both clubs. "Hull have advised us they are happy to loan out Caleb," Evans told skysports.com "The two clubs have agreed a loan deal and now just a few details need to be finalised. "Caleb was unfortunate with injury at Middlesbrough, but he is now fully fit again." Folan could be joined by Hull team-mate Daniel Cousin at Loftus Road with Hart also keen on signing the Gabon international on loan. www.sportinglife.com/football/premiership/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/10/01/07/manual_124306.html

As Dave McIntyre reported a few days ago "...Hull's Caleb Folan, a perennial QPR target in the last year or so, is again being considered now the transfer window has opened, but he is currently nursing an injury..."

And almost exactly a year ago (January 2009) (Strange how we stay interested as the manager keeps changing!)
January 2009 "...Rangers have also targeted Hull's Caleb Folan to boost their firepower, after moves for Manchester United's Danny Welbeck and Leroy Lita of Reading were snubbed." Mirror
The Sun - QPR have turned to Hull’s Caleb Folan, 26, in their desperate search for a new striker, after moves for Manchester United’s Danny Welbeck and Reading’s Leroy Lita were snubbed The Sun
London Informer/Paul Warburton - QPR set sights on Caleb Folan- QPR have turned their attentions to Hull City's Caleb Folan as the last part of an attacking jigsaw. Rs boss Paulo Sousa believes he only needs one more option up front - and wants the out-of-favour Irish international to plug the gap. Folan started the season by notching the winner in his side's opening day 2-1 victory over Fulham, but has since been restricted to a watching brief from the Tigers bench - getting only one Premiership start doing the 26-year-old no favours at all. Hull were whacked 5-0 at home to Wigan at the end of August. But Sousa wants his club to have another go at getting a player manager Phil Brown wanted to hang onto when Rangers asked the question last summer. Folan would come on loan initially, and if things worked out would sign permanently for somewhere around the £1m Hull paid for his services when he joined from Wigan in A ugust, 2007. But a Hoops insider revealed there would be no further chasing Leroy Lita at Reading. The striker is priced at £1.3m, but Hoops will keep their money in their pockets both for he and Southampton keeper Kelvin Davies - also linked with the club this week in an apparent £1m switch....
Dave McIntyre Reported "...Dave McIntyre/Ealing Gazette - Helguson poised to join Rangers QPR are today hoping to complete the signing of former Fulham striker Heidar Helguson on loan from Bolton.... Helguson is one of several forwards recently targeted by Rangers, who failed with bids to land Michael Chopra from Sunderland and Caleb Folan from Hull City.Ealing Gazette
October 2008 London Informer/Paul Warburton - Sturr crazy QPR want Daniel Sturridge on loan and have refused to give up on Caleb Folan - despite Hull's insistence on a £500,000 loan fee. The double swoop underlines just how much the Hoops want to improve their striker options and take the pressure off manager Iain Dowie. Sturridge at just 19 is considered the future of Manchester City, but has limited options at Eastlands currently with Jo, Robinho and even former Rs' target Ched Evans ahead in the pecking order. The England U19, whose footballing uncles Dean and Simon played for Derby and Birmingham, has made four starts and scored one goal this term - the first in the 3-0 defeat of West Ham in August. However, Hull are playing hardball over Folan and have demanded not only half-a-million for the Irish international's loan - but around £3m for his full transfer should it get that far in January. Insiders at Rangers are hoping they can knock both prices down and bring in both targets after discovering Heidar Helguson needs another month to get fully fit. The former Fulham striker is also on Rangers want list, but is still recovering from injury.

October 2008 - The Dowie "years"
Friday, October 17, 2008 Confirming: No Folan to QPR - BBC - Hull turn down QPR Folan approach Hull City have rejected an approach from Championship side QPR to take striker Caleb Folan on loan with a view to a permanent deal. Tigers manager Phil Brown told BBC Radio Humberside: "They're interested in a quality striker which he is. "But he's a quality Premier League striker and an international. Caleb has been a definite threat for us. "Unless they were talking absolutely ridiculous money we are not a selling club," Brown added. Folan joined Hull in last January's transfer window for £1m from Wigan Athletic and was part of the Wembley winning side over Bristol City that saw the club promoted to the top flight of English football for the first time. If there's a threat to Marlon King's back...it would be remiss of me to let a player go out on loan to the Championship Hull boss Phil Brown He has not started a game this season but has come off the bench on a regular basis and scored the late goal that gave the Tigers an opening day victory over Fulham at the KC Stadium in their first ever Premier League game. With Marlon King struggling with an injury, Brown says Folan is very much in his thoughts. "If there's a threat to Marlon King's back then there's a possibility that he could be in a starting position so it would be remiss of me to let a player go out on loan to the Championship." BBC
Maybe Folan Not Joining QPR?...Folan May be Playing for Hull on Sunday! - Hull Daily Mail - Folan bids for starting role Caleb Folan will be Phil Brown's first port of call for duty on Sunday if Marlon King fails to recover from a back injuryPHIL Brown will turn to Caleb Folan to lead Hull City's attack against West Ham - if Marlon King fails to overcome his back injury. The Tigers boss has serious concerns over the fitness of King after he was pulled out of a double training session on Wednesday. Having also missed international duty with Jamaica through injury last weekend, King is being closely watched by the club's medical staff. Brown only rates King's chances at "50-50" for the visit of West Ham. But after being impressed by Folan's recent graduation to the international scene, the City manager is not without options. Folan, whose only previous start this season was the 5-0 home defeat to Wigan, made his Republic of Ireland debut on Wednesday night. It made him the 16th player on City's books to boast full international honours, and Brown said he had been delighted to see him progressing his career. He said: "This is the blossoming of a career. I knew that the potential was there when we took Caleb from Wigan. "He's only at the start of his career and it's probably too early to start saying if he's an international or even a Premier League player yet, he's just at the start of things. "It's great news for him and it's great news for us." Report
QPR Set to Sign Loan striker: Hull's Caleb Folan - The incoming striker, according to Dave McIntyre is Hull's almost-26 forward, Caleb Folan, who just made his Republic of Ireland debut as a 93rd minute substitute against Cyprus.
Dave McIntyre BBC/606 - R's turn to Folan and Fulop Rangers are close to signing Hull striker Caleb Folan and want Marton Fulop to become their first-choice goalkeeper. Folan will make his debut against Nottingham Forest on Saturday if an initial loan deal is agreed in time. If it goes through, the move will be with a view to a permanent transfer in January. Folan, who turns 26 later this month, joined Hull from Wigan for £1m in August last year. He has featured in six Premier League matches this season, scoring once.

"(Strange how we stay interested as the manager keeps changing!)" My thoughts exactly Report. I cannot get excited about any transfers happening. I would be happy with no ransfers or loans until we get someone in who knows what they're doing. I'm also fed up of reading about our targets coming back from injuries.

You're not suggesting that the Paul Hart statement that "It's ultimately my decision who comes and goes" is another spin are you?
It surely must be the biggest coincidence that PH is after the same player that previous managers tried to get..........
