Beckford reaction disappoints Leeds boss Simon Grayson
Beckford has scored 12 league goals this season
Leeds United manager Simon Grayson says he will talk with Jermaine Beckford on Monday regarding his reaction to being substituted at the weekend.
The striker shunned Grayson after he was taken off in the second half of the 1-0 win over Southampton.
"Obviously Jermaine is disappointed to be substituted and I'm disappointed with his reaction," Grayson told BBC Radio Leeds.
"We will chat after the weekend and hopefully resolve it."
Leeds' 15-goal top scorer's reaction to being taken off was greeted by boos from the crowd and chants of support for Grayson.
"Any substitution I make I try and make it for the benefit of the team and I'm prepared to take my leading goalscorer off if it's not happening for him on the day," explained Grayson.
"I've taken my captain off in the past and any decision I make is trying to be the right one for the football club, but I know I will not get every one right."
Leeds scored the winning goal against the Saints through Robert Snodgrass just minutes after Beckford had gone off.
"We will speak and hopefully it is decided that this is a squad game," added Grayson.
"We have people who are worthy of coming off the bench and have the quality to affect the game, and that's what happened."
Beckford is expected to be a transfer target for Championship and Premier League clubs in January, although Leeds insist that the forward will see out his the remainer of his current contract at Elland Road, which expires at the end of this season.
