Haha, and before he said yes to the Notts County job he was favourite to become the national manager for Sweden...
Poor choice going to Notts it seems, wonder if his pal Sven is on his way out as well then.

But Eriksson Stays Eriksson pledges future to Notts Posted on: Tue 15 Dec 2009 Sven-Goran Eriksson tonight pledged his future to Notts County Football Club. Earlier in the day, manager Hans Backe tendered his resignation and left the club in a surprise move. That sparked speculation about the future of Notts' director of football who had brought Backe to the club two months ago. But in a statement given exclusively to www.nottscountyfc.co.uk, Eriksson reaffirmed his own future still lies at Meadow Lane. He said: "Everyone at the club is disappointed that Hans has chosen to tender his resignation. "This has come as a surprise to all of us in the context of recent results on the pitch and the completion of the management buy-out of the football club by Peter Trembling. "I am aware that Hans' decision has led to speculation about my own position here at Notts County. "I wish to make it clear that I believe the management buy-out is a positive first step for the club and we look forward to confirming further investments for the future. "I continue to enjoy my work at Notts County and together with Peter Trembling I hope to progress to the goals that we have set." www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10426~1905923,00.html

Guardian - Matt Scott and Marcus Christenson Tuesday 15 december
Notts County's manager Hans Backe quits over 'broken promises'• Swede walks out three days after Trembling takeover • Sven-Goran Eriksson says he 'enjoys work' at CountyNotts County are searching for a new manager as well as new investment after Hans Backe resigned today over "broken promises". The club confirmed in a statement that he had left Meadow Lane, three days after Peter Trembling staged what he has described as a management buyout of the club. Tord Grip, who is assistant to the director of football Sven-Goran Eriksson, told the Swedish website Fotbollskanalen that Backe's decision did not come as a shock. "I'm not surprised about Hans leaving," he said. "He is disappointed he did not get the things he was promised. The aim was the Premier League when Munto Finance was involved, but that did not happen. "There are enormous sums needed to fulfil the project that was promised [but] it is not a dead-end yet; it could be that there is more money coming into the club. We should know more by the end of the year. Peter Trembling is confident that he will get new money into the club." Trembling says he shares Backe's frustrations, blaming Russell King and Nathan Willett, the representatives of the former owner Qadbak, for a failure to deliver the funds that were pledged. Trembling is currently on a family holiday in New York. Eriksson also broke his silence on the situation for the first time since Trembling's takeover of the club's shares, saying in a statement on the website: "Everyone at the club is disappointed that Hans has chosen to tender his resignation. I am aware that Hans's decision has led to speculation about my own position here at Notts County. "I wish to make it clear that I believe the management buyout is a positive first step for the club and we look forward to confirming further investments for the future. I continue to enjoy my work at Notts County and together with Peter Trembling I hope to progress to the goals that we have set." The former England manager was at a children's hospital in Nottingham on an official club visit. Trembling was quoted by Notts County Mad, a supporters' website, giving his perspective on the Backe resignation, with the Meadow Lane club confirming that he had provided it with an interview. "Backe resigned on Saturday evening and it was announced today," he was quoted as saying. "He said that 'promises had been broken'. He wanted to sign players for big fees in the emergency transfer window and this was not possible." When asked if the club has sufficient funds to operate without selling players in January, Trembling was quoted as saying: "This will not be the case at all. Things will continue as they have been doing." www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/dec/15/notts-county-hans-backe-quits
