Ian Holloway tells Flavio Briatore to stop messing with QPR Published 23:00 10/12/09 By Mirror Football Recommend IAN Holloway has blasted QPR owner Flavio Briatore and told him to stop ruining the club. The Blackpool boss spent five years as QPR manger and believes the Italian owner is slowly ruining the Loftus Road set-up after seeing Jim Magilton suspended this week over a bust-up with midfielder Akos Buzsaky. And Ollie has urged Briatore to stop meddling before the West Londoners' situation gets any worse. He said: "Mr Briatore: keep your nose out of things. They were doing fine when it looked like you weren't going to be in control. "I suggest you're a complete nightmare from a manager's point of view and a player's point of view. "The more flamboyant and the more involved your chairman is the more the nightmare your football club is in. "And if that stops me ever getting another job after I lose this one, I don't really care." Briatore was forced to retire as boss of Renault’s Formula One team amid race fixing allegations earlier this season but the Italian came through the Football League's 'fit and proper person' test to be able to carry on in charge at QPR. But Holloway insists Briatore will ruin Rangers and believes clubs should look at the way Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston runs the Seasiders. He said: "He does a great job and when heís there, you have to do what he says. "There's no messing and all our players know it - so it's about time other people looked at us and did it our way. "QPR midfielder Akos Buzsaky was reportedly involved in a fight with manager Magilton after Monday nights 3-1 loss at Watford. And Holloway has criticised the Hungarian star's actions - which has resulted in the Rangers manager being suspended. He said: "There is passion in the game and you have to show that at times but it can get blown out of all proportion. "I would have like to have witnessed what happened, but for me Akos shouldn't have said anything. "He should have dealt with his manager in-house not going outside and telling press people and the chairman. "I'm sick of players and their agents and their pampering. You're here to play football and try and win. If you don't you're not doing your job. It's as simple as that." www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Ian-Holloway-tells-Flavio-Briatore-to-stop-messing-with-QPR-article252009.html

And a few additional snippets from Holloway - The possible caveat of course being, what exactly did Magilton do - and what did he not do. Blackpool Gazette/Steve Canavan - Ollie's men will stick together 11 December 2009 IAN Holloway reckons his players realise the value of sticking together – and that's why he has avoided the sort of fall-outs that marred football this week. Stoke manager Tony Pulis and QPR's Jim Magilton were involved in dressing-room spats with players which hit the national headlines. Magilton has even been suspended while the London club completes an investigation. Holloway, a former QPR player and manager, has sympathy for his counterparts. The Blackpool boss said: "There is passion in the game and you have to show that at times. But it just gets blown out of all proportion. "Tony Pulis is a friend of mine and normally his players do exactly what he wants. "I'd like to have seen what actually happened between Jim Magilton and (Hungarian midfielder) Akos Buzsaky. For me, Akos should have said nothing to anybody else. He should have dealt with his manager in house, not go outside and tell press people, then go and speak to the chairman. "Mr Briatore, keep your nose out of things. I suggest you're a complete nightmare from a manager and a player's point of view. "The player should never talk to someone like him. It has nothing to do with him. "Football business is football business, and if you are not playing and winning you are not going to be happy, but you just have to stop sulking and do what the team needs. "My boys realise that and we are trying to achieve something together. "Now I might fall out with one or two of them, but I don't expect them to run to the press or the chairman. I think that is a coward's way."I'd suggest the two managers in question are proper people who have tried to deal with certain situations, and the players have got to shut up and put up. That's what they are paid to do."They don't make decisions. They are supposed to do what they are told and it's about time that happened, in my opinion." Pool bid to follow Tuesday's victory at Middlesbrough with another away win at Ipswich today, but Holloway is concerned about all the travelling his squad have done. He added: "We were eating pizza at 10.30pm on Tuesday. Now that's not a good thing if you are an athlete. "You need to get the carbs back in and that's why we did it – because what else is there at that sort of time? You can hardly have a salad. "So we were all chomping on pizza and we didn't get back till 2am." www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sports-news/Ollie39s-men-will-stick-together.5905895.jp

Did Buzz run to the press? Not sure I've seen a quote anywhere from him or his agent...just as likely that the dressing room incident was leaked by other player or staff and locking him out of the dressing room when the ground is full of journos is really stupid. No one comes out of this with any dignity (except perhaps Agyemang) but to say its Buzzs fault is laughable

I can't believe that anyone would think that what Ollie has done is good or right - he needs to keep his unwanted, sour-grapes nose out of QPR's business (about which he knows absolutely zilch)
And yes, I do say "sour-grapes" on purpose - he's sour because we got rid of him (which he didn't like) & he's never forgiven the Club for that. So at every and any opportunity he tries to put his half-penny's worth in.
I say - shut up and keep out of it Ollie - you're not even remotely clever getting involved in this, so BUTT out (ha! ha!)

"Sour grapes?" I wouldn't deny he probably has some strong feelings. (But that's I would hope, because he still cares about the club)
He knows an awful lot about the Sporting Director - and quite a bit about Buzsaky - though
As for "butting out?" I disagree. You can accept or reject his comments (as he made couple of other times for instance re his claim of high wages QPR were paying), but I'd still rather hear his view than not

Sorry, QPR Report, can't agree with you at all on this - all it is is muck-raking.
QPR are very good a pressing the self-destruct button without any help from outsiders who don't know diddly-squat about the current set up.
Ollie never loses an opportunity to criticise our Club - interesting that no other manager has come up with anything about the situation coz they, like us, do not know what really happened on Monday night.
Oh, & by the way, happy Chanukah!!

Well you make a fair case. But I still welcome hearing from Holloway! And I'd argue that some other managers have spoken out at least in passing re QPR - Sousa of course. Allardyce - But more importantly, Happy Hannukah to you too (and anyone else celebrating the "Festival of Lights"! By the end of the Eighth Night, we'll probably have a new manager. Now which manager would you like as your QPR Hannukah Present?

Fair play to Ollie.
Obviously nothing more than a coincidence, but we were doing well when Briatore was away & then things went Pete Tong shortly after he returned from his hiatus.
The club is an absolute complete & utter laughing stock & I for one dont actually care that much anymore.

Club is a laughing stock - but we were after the Watford game (least, that is, I was getting laughing texts from loads of mates who watched the game!!)
Hmm? There's a thought - a new manager for Chanukah (and then another one for Christmas?!!) - who'd I like?
How about someone who will actually stay with us for longer than 6 months? Longer than 4 months? Longer than 2 months?!!

I also believe that Mr Holloway should keep his nose out. I also couldn't give a monkey's what he thinks of Briatore either. Got a liberty saying Buzsaky shouldn't go to the press when he himself just has, bloody hypcritical. Who has said that Buzsaky went to the press anyway?
I must add, I do not dislike Mr Holloway by the way.
