STURROCK REPLACED BY MARINER Posted on: 10.12.2009
Paul Sturrock has lost his job as Manager of Plymouth Argyle and been replaced by Head Coach Paul Mariner.
Sturrock has been in charge at Home Park since November 2007 but the club currently sit second bottom in the Coca-Cola Championship table, with just 15 points from their 19 games played.
Mariner returned to the club, where his playing career began, in October, after 20 years coaching in America. His last job in the MLS was as Assistant Coach with the New England Revolution.
Sturrock will remain at the club in a business support role.
Speaking on the decision Chairman Sir Roy Gardner said: "Paul Mariner will take charge of all football matters until further notice.
"We are convinced that we have the capability to improve our performance and remain in the Championship."
