Currently with Parma. Wonder how he'd have done; how long he'd have been given if he had decided to come to QPR
Football Italia - Guidolin's secret to beating Genoa
Sunday 6 December, 2009
Francesco Guidolin can take Parma into the Champions League spots today and reveals the secret to beating Genoa: “Pace!”
This afternoon’s Marassi showdown is a head-to-head for fourth place and you can watch LIVE on ESPN from 14.00 GMT.
“We need to work hard, run fast, keep the tempo as quick as possible and maintain our tactical system,” urged the Gialloblu boss.
“Genoa are a wonderful success story of Serie A, made to work quickly and flexibly. We tried many options during the week in training, but the most important thing of all is to move as hard and fast as they do.”
Valeri Bojinov and Alberto Paloschi have still not recovered from injury, though Daniele Galloppa returns from a ban.
Parma were promoted back into the top flight in the summer and are already challenging for places in Europe.
“We improve with each year that goes by, which is what should happen in a club that makes plans, leaves its staff with time to work and a solid financial background,” added Guidolin.
“I don’t know if it’s right to make comparisons and it is early days in our project, but I hope one day we can become like Genoa or Fiorentina. I have faith in our excellent directors to achieve that aim.”
Parma squad: Mirante, Pavarini; Antonelli, Castellini, Dellafiore, Lucarelli, Paci, Panucci, Zaccardo, Zenoni; Budel, Cordova, Dzemaili, Galloppa, Lunardini, Morrone; Amoruso, Biabiany, Lanzafame
