Great!Tribal Football - QPR striker Simpson hopes for Arsenal recall 30.11.09 Arsenal striker Jay Simpson was again on the mark for QPR in their 2-2 draw with Coventry City. The Gunners striker is on loan at QPR but after grabbing his eighth goal in 14 games would love the chance to step in for the long-term casualty Robin Van Persie at the Emirates. He said: "This is helping my development and I want to play at the top level. At the moment Arsenal have a lot of injuries so if I was back there, who knows. "When I play I'm always confident I'll score - even if it was in the Premier League." Simpson added: "I am with Rangers for the season. There is a call back but I don't know if it will be used. "I'm in touch with Arsenal and I know they come to all the home games but I'll just focus on my stuff." www.tribalfootball.com/qpr-striker-simpson-hopes-arsenal-recall-477731

Standard/Ben Hunt - Gunner Jay Simpson is ready for a call to arms JAY SIMPSON hopes that his loan spell at Queens Park Rangers is going well enough to prove he is worthy of a future at Arsenal, writes Ben Hunt. The Gunners are in the midst of an injury crisis with Dutch striker Robin van Persie out injured for five months and Nicklas Bendtner still on the treatment table. Simpson, 20, is on loan at Loftus Road until the end of the season but has a recall option, and took his tally to eight goals in 14 starts for Rangers in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Coventry. He said: "I want to score goals at the highest level and I believe I can do that. I know Arsenal send someone to watch all my home games and they keep copies of my performances. Even with the injuries, though, I don't know what position I'd be in if I went back. "Scoring obviously can't have done my chances any harm and I'm still really close with the young guys at Arsenal." www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard-sport/football/article-23776996-gunner-jay-simpson-is-ready-for-a-call-to-arms.do

Guess it was originally Mirror Story Skysports Simpson eyes Gunners recall QPR loanee believes he can help injury-hit parent club Arsenal By Richard Bailey Jay Simpson believes he can score goals at the top level and help Arsenal fill the void left by the injuries to strikers Robin van Persie and Nicklas Bendtner. The 20-year-old is currently on a season-long loan to Queens Park Rangers but insists he would be more than happy to return to the Gunners in their hour of need. The young striker scored his eighth goal in 14 matches in the 2-2 draw with Coventry at the weekend and is confident he can transfer that form into the Premier League. Simpson admitted that he still keeps in touch with staff at Arsenal and with Van Persie and Bendtner set for prolonged spells on the sidelines recalling Simpson could be an option for Gunners manager Arsene Wenger. "The goal (against Coventry) won't have done me any harm and I keep in touch with the young Arsenal lads," he told the Daily Mirror. "I know the club come and watch all my home games and they've got copies of my performances, but it is out of my hands whether I get recalled or not - it's down to the staff there. "I want to play at the top level, so if this can help my development, then great. But they've picked up a lot of injuries at Arsenal at the moment and I'm confident I can score constantly in the Premier League." www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11670_5733983,00.html

Kluivert looked in good nick on the tele last night. ;D Salgado should be playing for us not warming the bench as well. Plus we could always get Tristan. See, always a bright side.
